Connecting a Shielding Gas Regulator - 180i MP DV
Hi Lincoln - can you tell us what the difference is between the EasyMig 140 and the MigPak 140?
Well, that was interesting 😅nice
Will it weld 6010 5p?
I love my 180 i ,I use mine on 120v all day never had a problem I can't wait to get a spool gun and try aluminum I will say with the better inverter it uses hardly any electricity I love this welder
I just purchased one due to the opinion presented from this video! Thank you for the recommendation.
Anyone know which is better this Lincoln inferno or the flame king ?? They both rated for 500,000 btu just curious if one is actually better than the other
Size filter?
Will this beast weld 3 / 8th " mild steel with proper rod size?
This machine strikes like BUTTER even on 120v
Do you think it could run off a 3000w generator?
Can you use this welder from a generator. If so what size generator would be suitable
Ive used a lot of lincoln products but they will now put their name on some pretty crappy built products!!
Can this welder hold larger spools than just the 1lb? Can it hold the 2lb spools?
No, only a 1 lb spool of flux-core wire will fit the 90i FC. More info about the 90i FC can be found here: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/90ifc/ Thanks for asking.
Lowe’s has the whole tig stick and mug combo for $1300
Just to make sure, with gas less flux it can weld thicker?
Yes. Flux-cored burns hotter and can weld thicker metal. It also produces more smoke so it's best to weld outdoors. If welding indoors, use a smoke extractor or at the very least, make sure the room is very well ventilated. Always follow the equipment manufacturers safety instructions and use proper ppe.
@3:20 and not be the reason for the next safety stand down.
I read it’s not great for 6010 but what about 6011
My old Lincoln Idealarc 250 was made in 1957 and is still going strong!
Where can I get the kit or at least the oil filter everywhere I look no one has it ?????
This thing is useless. Don’t buy
I love mine.
Good afternoon, excuse me, does the machine run on co2 gas?
Yes. 90/10 (90% argon/10% CO2) is most popular, but you can run 100% CO2. For more info on the 90i MIG visit: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/90imig/
@@LincolnElectricRetailHow about 75/25?
@@zyou8er Yes. 75/25 will be fine.
It's funny because it's true

Could this welder weld aluminum ?
Ben, yes. You'll need a Magnum Pro 100SG spool gun (Model # K4360-1). The retailer where you buy the 180i MP may also carry the spool gun kit. Here's a link to the 180i landing page which includes info about the spool gun: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/weld-pak-180i-mp-dv/ Good luck with your welding project. And please reply if you have any more questions.
@@LincolnElectricRetail thank you
Mine sat in a shed for a year and now the flame is weak. I don't see any way to disassemble and clean out the nozzle. Not spending another $60 on a new one.
Hey Greg, the Lincoln Electric service staff might be able to give you some advice on how to get it back. Here is the link where you'll find a few ways to contact them. www.lincolnelectric.com/en/ask-the-experts
@@LincolnElectricRetail Thanks! I will contact them.
@@LincolnElectricRetail Need to post a follow up in case anyone else experences this issue. It wasn't the torch that deteriorated, it was my memory. The intstructions reminded me to open the tank valve VERY SLOWLY. I did this, and the torch works perfectly.
The video says 2lb. spool of wire but will this take a 2 lb. spool or only 1 lb.
Kenneth - it's a flux-core welder so it takes a 1 lb. spool of fc wire. Thanks for pointing out the error in the video!
"Are you haopy Ted?" "Reasonably"
I bought 1 of these just yesterday, havnt used it yet because I need to know if I can run it off a generator for the 240 side without damaging it.
Thanks for your purchase! Here's info from the operator's manual pertaining to generators: The machine is designed to operate on engine driven generators as long as the auxiliary can supply adequate voltage, frequency and power as indicated in the “Technical Specification” Installation Section of this manual. The auxiliary supply of the generator must also meet the following conditions: Frequency: 60 Hz RMS voltage of the AC waveform: 90-250 V; Out of this range will trigger undervoltage and overvoltage protections. Generator Minimum 3 kW (120VAC) 6kW (230VAC) It is important to check these conditions because many engine driven generators produce high voltage spikes. Operation of this machine with engine driven generators not conforming to these conditions is not recommend and may damage the machine and is also NOT covered by warranty. You can view the owner's manual here: lincolnelectricretail.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Weld-Pak-180i-MP-DV-Owners-Manual.pdf Hope this helps! Please write-back if you need more help.
Holy cow what a piece of garbage the flame doesn't stay lit without handle depressed. Thought i was doing something wrong.
It's a safety feature!
@@LincolnElectricRetail It makes the torch completely useless. I returned it.
@@tooltips9911 Nothing duct tape or a zip tie can't solve my guy.
How many pounds it’s that spool wire
JM, it's the small spools. The flux-core spool is 1 pound. The MIG wire is the same size spool but weighs 2 pounds.
Which one it’s better between that one the fc90 century and the 90i Lincoln electric weld pak ?
How does the spoolgun do on this machine? I just got this machine and i wonder if it is good enough to run the spoolgun
Yes it's a spool gun-ready machine. You'll need a Magnum® 100SG spool gun Model# K5341-1. For more info on the 180i MP, visit the link below. If you scroll down the page, you'll see links to to technical docs. lincolnelectricretail.com/products/weld-pak-180i-mp-dv/ Or click on this link to view the brochure: bit.ly/180iMP_brochure Scroll down to the 'Quick Start Guide' image to view how easy it is to attach the spool gun. Hope this helps! Please reply if you have any more questions. Thanks.

Amos for 240 volts, what's size breaker .
We recommend a minimum of 30A. For more info, including technical documents, visit: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/weld-pak-180i-mp-dv/
Can this welder be used with a different regulator such as the one built into an ALbee tank?
Yes, you can use the regulator that the Albee tank comes with as long as you do not exceed 30 CFH which is the recommended setting for the 90i MIG. For more info on the 90i MIG, visit: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/90imig/
@@LincolnElectricRetail Thank you. I appreciate the response.
So small that I store it in my bedroom.
Question: Can the MIG gun remain installed while using the Stick function?
Yes. It's very easy to switch between MIG and stick. No need to remove the MIG gun. There are terminals on the front of the machine to easily attach the stick cable, and ground cable. And then use the push button selector to change from MIG to stick mode. Very simple! Here is a website where you can get more info and download the operator's manual: lincolnelectricretail.com/products/weld-pak-180i-mp-dv/
