Hot water tank leaking for an electric water heater, just want to shut the water going to the tank I'm in an apartment and can't reach main under stairwell already used turkey baster sucked up 2" plus I need the cold water for my pet's! Will this shut off the water going to the tank?

Thank you SOOO much for this video. I located the lever but wasn’t sure which way to turn it off because it’s high up in a dark closet. I finally stuck my iPhone camera with the flash on up there and figured out which way to turn it and gave it a hefty push and now I can sleep tonight!

My water heater has the crank style shutoff, but it’s all the way cranked to the right and it’s still leaking out of the water heater. Fml

My water heater is not leaking. I have a hot water supply line leaking so i want to cut off the hot water only. How do i do this without damaging the heater? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to figure out how to cut off hot water to my bathroom sink to take off cut off value and replace hopefully 😮 I don't see this box around my house but it is one belongs to the county that I don't have any key. I'm screwed I guess or maybe ask can county cut water off for me and hear them quote $$ of course. With all this how was a plumber going to get the valve replaced??? Can we ask to purchase a key? How did you get one? Please advise 😢 or can I just cut off hot water tank and no water will gush out when I cut copper hot water pipe only?

This has performed exactly as desired ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx8G49mV71sAzUl9shXyLW-r3XgHH9EVh1 . Basically, instant hot water instead of waiting up to two minutes as it was before. I have had this installed almost exactly one year now and just replaced the anode which is pictured. I pulled it out at six months and cleaned the heating element and removed debris. I would recommend a cleaning every six months and an anode replacement yearly. A mild citric acid and water solution soak really helps clean the heating element and tank. It must be fully disassembled to do the cleaning and that is not difficult but could have been made easier with a couple of design changes but no big deal.

Thank you for thos tip. We have a hot water leak and we were freaking out because we had to shut water off etc. Thos way we have water to flush and drink etc. Until we get the leak fixed which can't be for a week. Its a pain in the butt but at least we have running water. Thank you for this

I can't get watwr out of my hot water heater

And he didn't have to use a lot of water to do it. What does it mean if pouring water doesn't seems to help it flushed at least not like yours just did

Thank you very much. I did what u said and I began to hear water heater slowly stop. I feel safe tonight. I had called a company here in Maryland Len the plumber at 3:46pm on today 12/21/22. They gave me a window between 4pm -8pm, at 7:30 the tech texted me to say he was not coming. By now I have water all over my basement and hot water tank was still leaking. However, I found ur channel . 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 I have some relief until tomorrow to get a new tank. Keep on, keeping on … u were straight to the point. 😊 peace and joy

Will the water heater drain? I wouldn't want to overheat the elements, so I assume I need to turn the water heater off for the duration?

Thank you. To get water into the house for the meantime do I need to connect the street side water to the hot water connection, I know I won't have hot just need water in the house until I get a new water heater

What if the valve doesn't work, it's old or stripped. Is there something you can put on the end of the pipe to shut it down, so I can turn my water on while waiting for new hot water heater.

How to turn off electric water heater

What if I shut off the main valve to the house, the main valve to the water heater and water is still flowing out of the bottom of the Water heater through the drain (After draining at least 10 5 Gallon buckets) Where is the water coming from? I can't go to bed until I know it will stop or my basement will flood,

Don't know if you'll see this, but what if I just turn off that cold shut off without first turning off the whole house? I don't know how to turn off the whole house. I hope to call a plumber in the morning, but I thought if I could stop that hot water from running, I could do without hot for a little while. Do I have to turn off the whole house first?
