Can you make an extended tutorial? I mean this one is good, but would have been incredible if you synced a non-humanoid custom character in Maya and you showed the Metahuman animation import at the end, to see everything working in Unreal Engine
So moving everything to Unreal but with Alembic Caching or just a Custom Character but I do everything else in Unreal?
@@Darius.K_Gitonga it would be very good to see this procedure, with a custom character you imported and then finalized in unreal (importing everything in unreal and see it working with this process)

There's an issue on the orientation of the wrists controllers, both FK and IK, it's not aligned with the bone it's controlling. We can see it at 0:12 in your video. That is a big issue when animating... Do you know how to fix this?
Sorry for the late reply. The control orientation is okay it's just visually wrong. There 2 ways you can fix it, The first is you can right-click on it and select 'control vertex' and orient it the way you want it to be just like this video ' ua-cam.com/video/1zR1bYDy1Wo/v-deo.html ', if it still doesn't feel right you can also change the pivot orientation with 'D' while it's selected. The second method is a bit complicated I learned this from using Zootools, you can group then unparent the control from the chain make sure the joint it controls stays with the rig then orient it, freeze transformation then parent the control back in without the group. Zootools has a button for that but the first method is easier.

Thank you so much for the help. Changing my scene form meters back to centimeters solved the issue I had with linking my mash network to curve. When my preferences were set to meters, my mash network would appear very far from my curve. After changing the preferences back to centimeters, the issue was solved almost immediately! Thanks again!

Can you spawn randomly multiple decals ?
Am not sure if it's possible without adding a Spawn Actor node to support another decal and even if you do it will practically spawn on the previous decal position. Maybe with another transform node you might offset the spawn of the second so it appears in a different position and so on, but I will have to check on that.
Bro Only Use Blender Because It's Much Effective & Powerful Than Any Other 3D Animation Software
True that's why I am planning when I get time, I can remake some of these tutorials for Blender but until then am helping my fellow Maya users because Maya is my default animation software.
@@Darius.K_Gitonga Are these tools/similar tools available for Blender? I know one Blender Addon called "MetaReForge" which can be used to Customize Metahuman. Are you going to do tutorials on some addon or are you going to do it manually?
@@IamSH1VA Advanced Skeleton is not available in Blender but I will have to do my research for an alternative plugin for Blender that is also free and easily automates the creation of controls.

Thanks, this looks pretty useful and much simpler than MetaPipe actually. Curious if you have used MetaPipe and compared Advanced Skeleton workflow with that?
I have the MetaPipe workflow copies metahuman deformation which is good for realistic characters. Advanced skeleton face rigs are good for stylised characters but they also have additional tools that ease the process of creating blendshapes and wrinkle maps.

Hmmm that's interesting I haven't experienced an issue like that using Mash networks, it could be a bug but I don't know how to fix it. If you manage to get a solution please comment below to help others who come across the same problem.

How would you make the decals tile seamlessly along the spline? Like with a path decal, you wouldn't want gaps in between. Any help appreciated
Hi Grumbledookvid, Sorry for the Mega delay on this reply but I hope this helps other people too. On the Spline Sampler node, some settings can help, If you're using subdivision Mode you can increase Subdivisions Per Segment or You can switch the mode to Distance and reduce Distance Increment. Although the PCG decals don't exactly curve and do overlap this is the best solution I have found. You can use this photo as a reference. imgur.com/a/W5Eibr8

another question if we use the distributiontype: mesh how can we put the spacing between the each instancer?
I want it condensed, but not touching each other!
To be honest I had to research for this one and do some tests. I believe there are two ways you can achieve the results you're looking for. The first method is by using Mash Distribute and Distribution type: Mesh but instead of scattering you can choose Voxel the issue with this is that you will need to increase the amount of Voxel Size in order for it to fold nicely on bumps or hills and it also looks generic so you definitely need to tweak it with the Randomiser Node. The other solution which I also recommend is using the World Node which has a Cluster option that has an even disruption, All you need is to set up the Cluster Mode to Map Based (connect the ground to the Map setting Input Mesh) reduce the Collision iteration to 0 (preventing the instances from speeding too far) you can also use Randomiser node on top of it to add some naturalism. Some other options i found were using the Dynamics Node (to simulate collusion for even spacing) but that crushed Maya twice so i don't recommend it. I hope this answers your question If you manage to find a better solution you can post here to help others who might have the same question.

Yes if in any case you get issues its preferred to add a map helper (the map helper being your ground mesh). If it is still not visible confirm whether your texture map is readable by Maya e.g Png,jpg,tiff etc and also confirm if maya is in the right axis (Y is up)
