    Its nice to help people and videos are great but you know the difference in 15mins and 45mins right? because only tightening it a 1/4 turn instead of 3/4 isnt a good idea either some might follow your exact approach and be in for a big Suprise. I just mention it because at only a 1/4 turn maybe with road vibrations etc.. it can easily loosen up. Nice video though

    I love how you point camera and show us exactly where to pay extra attention, so far the best oil change video, my Raw 4 xle hybrid will be 1 year old in march and im hesitant to let them change oil. On my 6 month service they refused to change oil. I got 3k so far but after watching you I`m confident I can change oil my self. Accordind to AMD fella he is saying the best and easiest thing to prolong toyota`s life is to change oil twice a year. I got 1 question, should I put small earth magnet on oil filter?. Is it true magnet will keep all micro metal particles in the filter that way it does not circulate back?. Sorry it may be stuped question, but I`m trying to learn.

    What do the rear and front locking differentials do? In layman's terms. Is having both better than just rear? Is that what they call a front slip differential like on the F150 Tremor? How different? I think I heard that the front diff in the F150 Tremor automatically turned on and off as needed, is that an advantage?

    Well done video for changing oil on the RAV4 from Toyota! You hit some critical points during the video, oil hand tighten that oil filter plus add fresh oil to the rubber gasket. Toyota’s dealership with cost of labor and synthetic oil is pretty expensive, however during winter months I use them. I don’t like getting on the cold concrete anymore, not fun. So I wait and plan if possible to get the oil changed during warm months. For any warranty concerns, I keep a small notebook just for the particular vehicle and if I am doing the oil change I will write down date, mileage, type of oil and any other important information. A dealership will have their own documentation if you’re doing such at that store. Thus, if you have any engine issue’s and the warranty company has issues, you have your own documentation. Some say save the receipt of the oil, filter etc., as well but I feel that could be overkill, especially if you are showing a history of doing such service in that notebook, however that would be a personal choice. Again the video was well done and just like I was taught when changing oil on my vehicles for the 50+ years.

    if you Look on the OTHER side of the dip stick, where the dimples stick OUT, it is easier to see,,, I had a HARD time getting a read on the dip stick,,, I had to wait for all the oil to get into the pan,, and give it a little time after you add a little more to get the level reading..

    Since I started to work from home, I've been doing a lot of short trips with my 2021 Rav4. In order to avoid unnecessary wear to its engine, I change the oil and filter every 3000 miles.

  • @Mario-lj7gm
    @Mario-lj7gm 2 місяці тому

    I leave the filter plug alone as you did per the Car Care Nut's advice as they don't remove it at the dealership to save time and it's perfectly fine if you're ok with wiping off a bit more mess. You don't want to add oil all the way to max on a cold(er) engine or during oil change as oil will later expand and rise on a hot engine. Those dots are min and max for oil level so just stop in the middle. Having said that, I can almost never tell exactly where I'm at looking at the dipstick as it's so hard to see. Very nice video.
