Did you know?…… The “W” in 5W30 for example doesn’t mean ‘weight’? The W stands for “winter”. The more you know.

I just got my 24 WT. I live in Canada, where we get tons of snow, and winter lasts about seven months of the year! I'm glad I found a video on using the diff for the bronco to get through snow since I wasn't sure how it would handle it.

if you Look on the OTHER side of the dip stick, where the dimples stick OUT, it is easier to see,,, I had a HARD time getting a read on the dip stick,,, I had to wait for all the oil to get into the pan,, and give it a little time after you add a little more to get the level reading..

I believe those are trd filters good for 20,000 miles service great for doing 5,000 mile intervals with a oil extractor then you won't have to take that plate off and change the filter as frequent

  • @Mario-lj7gm

I leave the filter plug alone as you did per the Car Care Nut's advice as they don't remove it at the dealership to save time and it's perfectly fine if you're ok with wiping off a bit more mess. You don't want to add oil all the way to max on a cold(er) engine or during oil change as oil will later expand and rise on a hot engine. Those dots are min and max for oil level so just stop in the middle. Having said that, I can almost never tell exactly where I'm at looking at the dipstick as it's so hard to see. Very nice video.

I have the correct part serial number for the actual cover just no the screws. Also, will be using your video to change it myself next time to not deal with this again.

Change the oil at 500 miles to take little parts of metal out , empty oil, and run 1qt to clean up, then keep doing the rest , repeat the same at 1000 miles, after every 4k to 5k miles. Simple program for a nice car care. I have a 2024 rav4 I love it.

Anyone knows if changing oil / filter by yourself 'takes away your warranty '?. Or if you have it done by other oil changers ( with right filter, filter) still gives you the warranty. Dealerships ( second hand imports tie you down to their own dealerships ) will only comply with 'their warranties' provided you go back to them but they charge hundreds...will going to another mechanic void their warranty?

I recently added Rokblokz mudflaps to my 2023 Bronco Black Diamond. I like how they mount, but they do not provide long enough screws to properly assemble the front flaps. Rokblokz has added a metal plate to stiffen the assembly on the front plates, but did not update the screw lengths to accommodate the thicker stack of material. The provided 1/2" long 10-24 barely engage one thread on the holes which go through the metal stiffening plate. I ordered 9/16" 10-24 screws to assemble these properly, and this fit well. I made Rokblokz aware of this problem and their response was: "Thanks...but we know what we are doing." Not a great response, especially given the cost. Good engineering practice we teach at Caltech is that screws should engage 1.5 screw diameter. For a #10 screw, (0.190" dia.), this means the screw should thread in 0.285", which is 7 turns.

Easy to get at hell. What about the whole front cross member in the freaking way. All my ford trucks its been right on the bottom where there actually is nothing in the way. My wife has an expedition and ill never change the oilf again. Pain in the butt. Especially when the idiot who owned it previously put the filter on torqued to about 100ft lbs.
