Redding T-7 Turret Press & .45 ACP
Переглядів 2,2 тис.6 років тому
Short demo of me reloading a single .45 ACP on my new Redding T-7 press. Mostly just want to upload something GUN related to protest the ass hats at UA-cam and their brilliant new policy. Shot on my cheap Motorola Android phone, I NEVER intended on uploading this video ... lol. I remember UA-cam before those communists at Google bought it.

Val's first trip to the skatepark! Fun time...we were both pretty whooped after. She fell on the ramp pretty hard (not in the video) and that ended our day. Hopefully she won't let that stop her. She wanted to try EVERYTHING.

    Nice Demo Greg! This is a nice radio! I have 3 of them. One in shack, one in car and one in rv. All were bought used for just under 200.00. The backlight bulbs went bad on one of the units! ab3bo.com/icom-ic-207h-repair/

    I've had one of these since I got licensed back in 1998. Great radio, I wish Icom still made something similar. I don't need dual band receive like most of the new rigs. I just got a new 2730a, but love my old 207, it's a keeper!

    Mikey, I do not, I sold it some time back. I am currently without a HF radio .. :( I liked this radio for the money. Solid value. I like the newer offerings from Yaesu better though. FTdx-3000/1200 for example. I also like the newly re-vamped Kenwood TS-590SG.

    Had a couple inquiries on this video about my antenna setup I used in this apartment. I apologize for not answering sooner. I moved my family to Colorado in September of 2011, the same year I posted this video. Then things got busy, crazy, a few jobs went and came, etc. LOL. Anyway... I have sold this rig, but it wasn't because I didn't like it. It's a great value for the money. Now, my antenna setup ... In the video I mentioned a 35 foot wire and a 4:1 UnUn ... Google random wire antennas, better yet, check out this link: www.hamuniverse.com/randomwireantennalengths.html I used a 35' piece of stranded wire, 16 gauge. I tied a 6 ounce fishing weight to the end and literally threw it up into a tree off my second floor balcony. The other end of this wire was connected to the antenna side of the 4:1 UnUn This is the UnUn I used: www.balundesigns.com/model-4130-qrp-4-1-unun-1-5-54-mhz-300-watts/ The ground side of the 4:1 UnUn is tricky. It needs to be connected to a good earth ground. In my research I found that sliding glass balcony doors with metal frames are 'usually' a good ground. In my case the balcony had a metal railing. I measured the resistance between this railing and my metal sliding glass door frame and discovered there was zero resistance between them. So I sanded off the paint of a very small area of the railing, drilled a small hole and attached a wire to the railing with a metal screw, the other end of this wire attached to the GROUND side of the 4:1 UnUn. Hope this helps. I would not call this optimum, but it did allow me numerous QSO's on HF and I enjoyed the challenge that this QTH brought me. Learning to operate in a challenging environment makes operating in a good environment easier and more enjoyable. 73! K0GMJ

    The one that is 'working'. ;) I mostly use 20M, 40M and 10M. I'm a big fan of 17 and 12 though as I've had some good times on those as well.

    Yes Gregory i know what you mean. When I get mine back I will try to let you know what it was.. Looking now at a power transistor being shorted. I have no voltage at the #2 mic pin and no TX voltage at the back underside of the rig at the test points.

  • @gmjones2001
    @gmjones2001 11 років тому

    The TX is out on mine too, sadly. Has been for many months now as I haven't taken the time to repair it myself or have it done. Considered unloading it as a 'tech special' several times, but I don't really want to do that.

  • @mykenwood830
    @mykenwood830 11 років тому

    I have this rig also. Unfortunatly the TX went out of it. Having it repaired now. Also have a sweet Knwd TS-830s. Now theres a radio !!!

    In this vid I'm using the built in tuner. I do own an LDG YT-450 which is designed to work with the FT-950/FT-450 radios. In my new QTH I have a Hustler 4BTV which only requires moderate tuning on 40M. 20, 15 and 10 are all 1.5:1 or lower. Thanks for watching!

    I have both FT-1000 and FT-950. When I did A/B test between them, the receiver on FT-950 is not bad. The noise level is not any different and the DNR does some job, but not a lot. The only issue with FT-950 is the AGC. It seems a little slow with 'SLOW' setting. Set it to 'MED' improves a little bit but it also affect the sound quality negatively.

    On the FM bands (2M/70CM) the 'norm' for casual conversing is to not use phonetics. I agree with you in principal though. During NET check ins it is usually required. On the HF bands the use of phonetics is more prevalent. It is a must simply to be understood a lot of the time.

    I am planning on getting my ham license. I have listened to some hams on my scanner. One thing that REALLY bugs me is when people don't use the NATO alphabet when giving out their call sign. It makes it harder to understand people's call sign. Using the NATO alphabet makes it much easier to understand. I have the NATO alphabet memorized, it's not that difficult. Using the NATO alphabet for your call sign should be a requirement.

    They don't provide much isolation at all, but that turntable had no feet when I got it, common on these old Pioneers, so they function GREAT as feet. :)

    I also have an IC-207h. Got it from my old boss. Brand new in box - $125!!! Right now, it's in the car but I plan on moving it to the shack. I also use a Diamnond X-50; in the attic. Not quite as flexiable as my old Yaesu FT-8000 (true dual receive); but too good of a bargin to pass up. BTW - no intermod issue with my unit.
