One important caveat: thinking should have a subject, an experience to think about, something practical. If you’re philosophizing about life, most of the time it doesn’t help. Having a concrete experience to think about and deciding to improve something and take action right away is the way to go

I agree with you. Good video, thank you for making it. I've been working on improving myself in this area for about a year, and for me, the best thing you can do is get a dog. Go on multiple walks each day with no phone, nothing but you, your thoughts, your dog, and nature around you. Optional: bring a water bottle. Get some sun, think your own thoughts for as long as you can stand it before going inside. Rinse and repeat daily, you'll end up taking longer and longer walks. I feel much more balanced now than I did a year ago. Just wanted to recommend something that worked for me. 👌

The abundance of information we have access to in this age is truly both a blessing and a curse. It is so easy to overanalyze every little thing when there’s ten different voices shouting their own unique opinion on every little topic.

Hate to tell you but it's every generation looking at the passing of time. I'm solidly in the Millennial camp since I was born in 1990. I think a lot of it is that the last 8 or so years have kinda been a slow slide into blandness and numbness so we look back at how things used to be with a sense of loss since our future as a whole is looking a lovely shade of corporate grey these days. The excitement for tech is gone, personally I'm at the point in my life where it's getting a bit scary and I'm starting to feel like living in a cabin with a typewriter is looking pretty good. lol

its not like there's existing retirement programs left because work place turn over rates at every cooperate job is built to make sure you leave without a 401k/pension and don't even think about counting on social security because you know the boomers rigged the whole system to pay out every last penny by 2030. so the only retirement plan we have is an IRA and good luck trying to save enough money for that between every bit of inflation. If people wonder why Gen Z is so bitter when were old its because we learned from the best.

if you're 20 and the average life span is 80 years, you already ate up a whole quarter of you're time on this planet. its not as long as you think pal clocks ticking, i just turned 22. your entire time innuendo is just an awful example, by that logic if 6 am is 20 years old you'll be crippled by the time 2pm rolls around.

I skipped college bc i didn’t like school and now im 26 old without purpose in life and my family keeps pushing me to rethink and get to start over and go to college at his age the problem is the feeling of falling behind lurking into me 😢

college is not for everyone, even if my degree never got me a job i couldn't have got without it. its about your capabilities as a person. in my case i wish i never went to school and spent my tuition, i would have been able to afford a down payment for an apartment or anything more useful than a college diploma. its not the diploma that defines you but your skills and desire for a craft as a person.

I don’t think anyone acknowledges the fact that Gen Z is going to be the next Boomer generation, but we’re going to be poor too. All of the wealth is with our grandparents and parents and billionaires currently. The impending doom and the “work until you’re 85” ideal was shoved down our throats at the age of 13 but god forbid we have an identity crisis before we’re 18 because our parents house is likely the last house we will ever live in.

    • @shawnndixon5254

Ig i feel like I just gained conciousness and im already an adult, and im scared ill blink and turn 50, but maybe thats okay... I still have 365 days to do everything i want in one year and over 21,000 days (assuming a live that long) I have so much time

I thought this was gonna bs one of those somber, "tough love" types of videos, which I thought I needed. But I needed this video more. For me, metaphorically, I'm not even getting ready for school yet. Life has begun. I appreciate this kind of motivational optimism, the internet needs more of it.

This video was really amazing. As someone who’s 18 getting ready to go to college, growing up in a world where college is looked at as a waste of time now, where the job market is so grim, I definitely wonder if I’m making the right choices, and there’s definitely a lot of pressure to feel like I have things figured out, but yeah I mean in the grand scheme of things I’m just “waking up” now.

You get five years. 18-23 is the sweet spot for feeing young and “living forever”. After that the passage of time is so insane. I’m 36 and my perspective has changed dramatically from having kids and other things, but I haven’t changed much fundamentally since 25. And when you get in a routine job? A year is literally nothing. Five years is almost nothing too to be honest.
