This was made for LA Hovers motorized bike channel.thanks LA for all you do for the motorized bike community! errors: offset intake adapter, not offset carburetor. "all told" around 100 bucks to build the generator light set up. If you didn't wait till the end I don't run the kill switch. I think that's about it. if you guys have any questions or want a how to video let me know I'll see what I c...

motorized bike crank shimming
Переглядів 3,4 тис.2 роки тому
my first edited video on UA-cam on how to shim your crank for your motorized bike. Shim size is: Shim Flat Washer, 18-8 Stainless Steel, 5/8" Bolt Size, 0.632" ID, .750" OD, 0.008" Thick (Pack of 25)
Nice bro
Im sure it dont make a difference but the crank is in backwards lol
Something dont sound right bro
What exactly is the benefits behind shimming a crank?
Very poor video quality. Take this video down and try again
i disagree, i actually show the work being done and what the end result is. besides i dont pass this off as a welding tutorial. iv been welding on and off for 25 years, have 4 certs and have built many things over the years, nothings worse than watching someone give a welding lesson or tutorial when they have no idea what they are doing. so nice try but not the same thing. i do like your other videos though thanks for the info on the npr. could you do a EGR vid on the NPR? id give ya a thumbs up for that >)
@@Hawkeye_67 i took your mom down..
that’s a nice caliper
I like this bike and am wondering where I can get one, but I have a slight problem. I just h my right foot amputated due to health complicationea and I am looking for something to be for transportation in both the urbabnan setting. Also up to what size tire and rims may maybe used with a small trailor say a small game trailor that not only am I out hunting or fishing but just out and about shopping or visiting friends and family.
Nice looking build bro
Спасибо! 🎩
You have a top end niose
The metric size for these is a 16x22x0.2, thankfully they are easy to find and come in bulk sizes so if you build performance oriented mills instead of from crate motors they are very easy to score.
@Franklin Freewheeler if you find them in 15mm id then get them, the only shim washers I could find remotely closer were 16 and were being sold by a kit/parts seller so *shrug*
I see this way too often when I buy new motors. But there’s so much lash on the bevel gear that it still runs smooth enough for people to not notice anything wrong. But the crank bearings aren’t gonna be happy over time
ya it does indeed suck im at the point i send it back and make them send me another one and make them hassle with it so theyll tell their vendor or inspect these things before they slap their sticker on the box and sell it to us
It looks well ridden 👍
Phantom 85 is garbage. Never started.
Mine started after the 5th pedal.
Nice bike bro
thanks brother working on a new build right now.
Do you know of where I can buy a crank shaft for a 49cc 2 stroke. I installed a pull starter and since went back to just pedal starting it.. the damage was done though. when the magnet broke it SNAPPED it clean in half.
Ya that sucks.. Amazon and eBay good place to start..
Nice bike and engine one tip take that rag joint pineapple sprocket thing off and order a Hub adapter mount for rear wheel drive because that rag joint pineapple sprocket thing is gonna fuck up your rear wheel spokes definitely and will cause the chain to fly off and snap the spokes definitely
thanks for the tip,.but the rag joint is better than an hub adapter ,.hub adapters come loose and up tearing your spokes out ,..rag join wont do that, been riding this bike for a year and that thing hasnt moved a mm.
Stop wasting all your time take the crank apart add another gasket and screw the thing together nice and tight that's all you have to do I've been putting these two things together and never used a shame once I don't even know what it looks like use two gaskets that'll fix your problem.
LOL so how would making even more room between the crank and case solve that problem? that would make it even farther out lol the reason being if the crank can move back and forth that means the wrist pin needle bearing can walk ou t causing catastrophic failure ,.but youve done some many of these you know that already right? lol thanks for the input though.
Yea these 85s don't really care how much you weigh I'm running a 32 tooth sprocket but I'm sure it would easily pull a 28 but I only weigh 160. I'm in the process of filling in the lower transfers for better flow. Thanks for the cool video btw!!
Thanks! Ya it's just a yd100 bottom, and from what I hear they're now selling the jug and piston separately.
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 yup I bought mine separately about a month ago.
Hey dude you stole my dang bike.,..,.,nah I wish I had a bike that nice lol
LoL thanks dude!
Do from what I understand they use an impact or something like that to set that bolt from the factory I did just this a few weeks ago destroyed my bolt I finally used a pneumatic impact driver and it came out like butter unsure why they feel it needs to be so tight but that's what they do
ya and they put a lot of thread locker on there too.
Looking forward to this one :)
Where did you got that layback post?
Heughs motorized here on UA-cam...35 to make 35 to ship..so 70 bones but worth it for me.
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 Just wondering about lateral movement. Care to say a couple words on it? Will contact him. Thank you very much.
@@leonardarola it doesnt move,he makes the bottom piece the same size as your seat tube and welds the top bent piece in ,it drops in, you clamp it down and off ya go.
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 This could solve a big issue on the racer. Thank you kindly.
@@leonardarola any time my dude thanks for watching and the sub ;)
You should really get a gopro camera! Your videos would be dramatically better! Maybe a hero 7 or 8. Also change the chain tensioner wheel to a skateboard wheel! Itll really smooth out the sound and feel when you run it.
GoPro's a little spendy..
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 Your right, but with the video stabilization, itll make your videos look steady and smooth without the fuzzy screen blur and shaking. After your first video made using one youll wonder why you didnt get one before!
@@EMNM22 hmmm ok I'll check fleabay see what they got ;)
Cool bike I have the same frame with a donsp1986 motor, I was interested in the 85 as my next motor
take it apart and check it ,they use the yd100 bottom and the last 3 yd100s i got had bent cranks, including the p85 i got.
My motor has twice as much play and hasn’t gave me an issue from the crank is it really worth the hassle of shimming it unless it’s really bad?
it said,..that if it moves around alot it can cause the needle bearing on the wrist pin to walk,.if it moves out of alignment to far it will destroy the needle bearing,.then the pieces get in the motor and case bearings and the motors toast thats why they usually shim that at the factory ,..or not as in this case.your motor your call.
Couple of questions..do you have a build video? Is that a special order gas tank? I'm 6'2" 208lb.. is that frame small for you? Sounds like your chain clinking.
That's a gas tank frame..the frame is a good size better than a 26in ..no don't have a build video yet...I bought this as a bike kit..comes with everything but I changed most of it any ways..
If you want to build a gas frame bike I suggest buying the frame separate and picking and choosing the other parts..you'll spend about the same maybe a little more but you'll have better stuff than what they give you.
Did you fix it yet .if so what was it
No not yet.been busy with work and too tired..need to balance the crank, put a new piston in and window it..fix the forks..adjust the brakes , straighten the discs...so um ya.
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 working on mine as well everything is so difficult coaster brake hitting the hub assembly had to take out the shoes from the hub so it can ride smoothly put hand brakes front and rear it a Schwinn line Deluxe from the sixties .
@@darrinfry2251 I know the feeling my dude keep fighting the good fight you'll get there.is the coaster brake arm hitting the bolts?
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 no it was hitting the hub assembly ..36 sprocket 2 peace hub assembly.
But it's getting their one step at a time thanks
nice vidio guyss 👍👍👍
Thanks :)
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 you're welcome
Dude, how?
Came like that...
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 So, we go with the traditional Chinese lack of quality control. Enlightening for new builders. Thank you.
666th viewer here. Subbed. Did you cracked that frame? Thanks for the ride.
yikes lol,..nope not cracked yet.
got my gen. 3 on5/1/22 ,had to asemble the top end. runs great, no vibraitions
Still running great?
nice.
Im doing my first build this month!
Still running?
Your clutch is to tight. That wheel should not be spinning. Like you said, Loose the flower nut like two slots and try it again. Thanks for posting up. 🎚🇺🇸⚙️🚲⚙️👍🏼💯👊🏼
hey thanks for watching ,..ya had to tighten the flower nut cuz the clutch was slipping so had to get it as tight as i could,..ordered a heavy duty spring putting that in today as well as a new piston so i can run the needle bearing ill put the piston i ordered in my next vid ,.thanks.
🎚🇺🇸⚙️👍🏼💯👊🏼 Great presentation. Godspeed friend. Hope you enjoy my videos as well. Sub.
If you have the latest generation Phantom then it shouldn't have a bushing for the wrist pin. The Gen 3 engines come with a new connecting rod from the ZMN100 engines that uses a 12mm wrist pin and needle bearing, sized the same as an MS460 bearing.
I got the second gen with the so called upgraded bushing.thats why I posted that.but I also bought a piston that I'm going to replace so I can run a needle bearing that will be in the next vid. Thanks.
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 Wow you must have got one of the last gen 2 motors then. Those bushings were a terrible idea.
@@OddBallPerformance yes it was that stupidity cost them alot of time and money on what was a good idea..but like I said I'm putting on a different piston this weekend.balancing the crank and adjusting the clutch or ordering a bigger clutch spring this one slips and I already adjusted it so we will see.
@@motorizedbikestuff5339 I tore my gen 3 down when I got it. It was filled with aluminum shavings in the crankcase and all the bearings. I replaced the bearings all around and balanced and trued the crank. Putting in a meteor ms460 piston with cyber rings. Just need to window it in my mill. Then I am going to run 1 base gasket which gives a 1mm squish gap with the 460 piston and port the exhaust side a little (if I can).
I think there is supposed to be between 5 and 8 thousandths end play.
i got around 10 so...
LOL my Zeda Dawn and Phantom 85 are scheduled to arrive tomorrow!! Keep us in the loop on break in and jetting, ride safe man.
Thanks! Will do...ya it's 4 stroking but not broke in yet might be from blow by don't know yet ;)
You get your dawn up and running???
Lol I wish. Tore it all down to clean it out and check everything over. Found a lot of aluminum filings. My relief @ work has been off so I’ve been working way too much and my daughters summer softball traveling league has been keeping me running my a$$ off. Vacation coming up soon so fingers crossed. Just have to get it mounted and hopefully good to go
@@setherickson7376 seems life gets in the way of our our hobby life.fight the good fight brother!
What is your top speed and sprocket ?? Very cool build amazing👍
thanks man ,..that was the first run like i said in the vid i was goin slow to break in the motor so havnt found top speed yet and its a 36t
The engine will arrive tomorrow, so I wonder what it will be like.
@@CALCULUS269 alot of fun! And it sounds pretty gnarly you'll love it.
Good stuff 👍

Thanks for the video! What size were the shims you used? I looked on Amazon but couldn’t find any. Thanks for the help.
