WARNING!!! the video gets much better after a few mins! If you want a good blast around the open countryside Salisbury Plain is perfect, miles and miles of byways to explore.

nice out there , I got a telling off some years back on my old twin shock Montesa by the MOD they told me i might be riding over unexploded arms when off the trails makes you think

Yes. The roads are BOATs, Byways open to all traffic, in the main and therefore, your bike must be road legal. As the Army guy said, stay on the Byways. He even said are your bikes road legal to them at 4:54.

It probably was. It’s an army training ground the woods are not supposed to be ridden in for that exact reason. It was probably a trip wire attached to a flare at some point and just not taken down. They’ll be loads of stuff like that all over the plain which is why you don’t go off the roads.

@@jamieink6976 if you’re trying to have a pop at me, just so you know, I’ve spent many a night under canvas on Salisbury plain training and read that book a long time ago!! However I do wish I had you and your mates skills off road.
@@carkdonwah1528 thankyou lol and I wish I had some of those camping outdoor skills.... If I crashed or broke down out there let's face it I'm fucked!! It's like an English version of the desert.... It just keeps going and going and plenty of holes 20ft by 9ft deep to lose yourself in..... I know this lol
@@jamieink6976 yeah I got stuck in a similar hole last weekend. A passing mountain biker helped pull me out else I’d still be there now...
Hi mate, love the content! Can you just run me through how the day works? Is it sessions or open, if sessions how long? Any tips? Thanks a lot man!
It was an enduro practice day - one long session, pit as often/little as needed. See Sidcup club website/FB for more detail. Tips - get a camel back of any kind, pit when you feel tired, look for the diffrent lines out there - some are easier than other. BTW nice video.
@@canadaheights is the camel back just for water or spares/tools as well?
@@CrosserKid for small (distance/time) event just for fluid (many go for isotonic drinks) but at longer events you may want tools/spares (levers, tubes, etc and rainmac). events like this loop back on the same work area (pit lane) so you can normally make in back with a wounded bike / sign of rain. big events in wales/abroad or a days trail riding require carrying more stuff
