Building a Turbo Manifold For My 1.8T Stroker MK1 TT Stroker Big Turbo Build - PT1 Collector
The time has come where I finally post the build series for the manifold for my project Audi MK1 TT. Engine is fully built with all the bits you would expect for 700BHP which I will cover in another video. Was once a 1.8T and is now a 2.0L stroker and will be bolted up to the DQ500 to make all the sauce. Excited to get this build done and on the road which is looking like the very near future. Caddy 2K engine swap is finished

Cylinder head decided it no longer wanted to be attached to the block anymore :(. Already converted to the 2.0 BKD engine so a nice and simple swap for another engine with 120k should do nicely. Socials: @luke_aston @lostinfab
DQ500 Deka DCT Billet centre install

Finally found some time to pull all the parts out of the MK1 TT QS shell I have been hoarding parts in! Still loads of work to do on this build but its nice to finally make a start and getting the shell ready to strip and add all the fancy new parts!

i want to do something similar to my 04 225. i have a very nice mk1 just hit 90k miles. stage 1 but i have a lot of work and upgrades done to her she is a beauty. sadly in the usa parts and labor are much more expensive compared to the uk/europe. if i were going to do this much work to a motor i think i would turn my 225 into a vr6-Turbo instead but i do love the 4cyl-T just curious why you chose the 4 cylinder over going with a 3.2T or even a 2.5T? did you just want to keep the original 1.8t thats with the car? cant wait to see how it turns out. im in ohio usa
We can get these BKD engines from old Golf's in Australia. I'm gonna put one in when my BLS dies which will be probably be years away.

Easy mate, this downpipe was 2.5” which is plenty for these. If you are local or can make the drive to Accrington I can get this done in a few hours for you

@@LukeAston just the stock 140 for now engines not even in the van yet been let down so trying to find somewhere to be able to put engine in then get someone to come wire it but yea that sounds like a plan
sadly i dont believe they have this model in the usa. I drive a AUDI mk1 2004 225 6 speed manual. stage 1 love it. but i do want something newer and to do a engine build to a 2.0 stroker 500hp or a vr6 turbo. im thinking for a newer car i want either a mk7.5golf r or the mk3 tts. my dream car is the TTRS but 60k for a used vehicle with 70k mileage and needs a timing belt service for additional 6k is to expensive for me. even the 2.5t used engine with 100k miles are going for 25k $ usd online insanity
8S TT would be a great upgrade but that’s silly money for a TT! Shame you don’t get the bmw m140i over there as it’s a mega hatchback. Brother moved from a 7.5 golf and he loved that car, if you do get one I’d say alway get the dsg if you’re going to tune it as these engines love a crank walk with a manual box. Something newer is definitely on the cards for me though, just can’t beat that new car feel tbh
@@LukeAston yeah i love the look of the 8s just needs some rims and some upgrades put into it they only make it with dsg now. in usa all german cars are much more expensive compared to the UK or Europe. a used mk3 TT-RS goes for 55k-75k usd. i can get a mk3 TT-S or mk7 golf R slightly used for around 30k USD which is still expensive, but in the uk i notice all these german /euro cars are much much cheaper priced then over here and the aftermarket performance parts are also way more expensive over here too. i feel the whole world rips off usa just because they think they can get away with it

@@dandanyeah5342this has a bkd in and 5 seats. Will be looking to sell it after summer if you’re on the hunt for a van around that time. I got him off a lad called Chris in St Helens, him and his mate imported 2 and Jax was the first litter from the 2 imports

Correct! Engine is now a 2.0 stroker built top to bottom. The DQ500 is ridiculously heavy, would hate to know what the full car would weigh with the 3.2 bolted up to a DQ 😂

Nice work Pal. Ideally you want to cover brake pads pins so they don't get painted. As paint can stop brake pads moving freely. Also good is to apply cermiac grease on threads so bleeding nipples don't size up after few months.
Thank you! Pins didn’t get painted and I cleaned up with a scotch pad. I’ll remember the ceramic grease for the future!

Wicked video! I’m looking at doing similar but I don’t have a compressor or spray gun so will be using rattle cans. Did you use any high heat resistant paints or primers? Or an etch primer? As the callipers are aluminium right?
No this was just 2K paint and any other paints should hold up no issues. You can etch prime if you wanted to but a normal primer will work just fine with the callipers being aluminium

dude how could you do that to a original mk1 tt. thats blasphemy. wish you were in america so we could swap the motor into mine.. i still own my mk1 tt 225 stage 1. would like to get a ttrs but cant afford it. thought about going for a mk 7.5 golf R but i want that 5 cylinder true sports motor its a higher league then the 4 cylinder toy motor. but i can only afford like 40k maximum on a new car preferably more like 25k usd
If you are going to replace the pistons anyway why not keep them in thru the whole proces?
I didn’t rebuild them last time so I wanted to get any paint or build up out of the piston walls before I fitted new ones

Can you please tell me which rotor you used, was it the Mercedes, ML 55, or ML 500 rotor, and if so, did you have to bore out the center bore and/or the lug, nuts, or trim down the brake pad post inside the caliper so they won’t rub on the rotor? I have these 18 Z calipers and I’m using them with a S4B6 rotor, no modification needed, but the offset of the rotor isn’t ideal as it pushes closer towards the outside of the caliper. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

1 minute in and I stoked to see what you do. Biggest inspiration for building a mk1 TT
DQ500 for the win, granted you need to get it mapped. But since I’ve fitted mine I can already tell it’s going to transform the car dramatically. Glad to hear your not gonna waste your time with a built 02M/Q. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the channel and the builds! Very intrigued on the G30-900’s performance on our platform…… we’ve eeeked everything out of the G30-770 for sure.
I’m set on the dq500 now. For my power goal it makes sense, as you mentioned I think it will turn the car into something completely different - which is what I’m going for hence why I building another tt. Thank you for comment it’s appreciated and i am also looking forward to see how the g30-900 performs. What power did you manage to squeeze out of the 770 and what fuel?
@@LukeAston Mine made 642bhp and 516ft/lbs on 99 Ron and 80/20 watermeth this was on Badger5’s dyno, currently 2nd on the leaderboard….. something tells me I’ll be dropping down a peg or two soon 🤣
