He gave me so much encouragement to start my own channel! He walked me through how to do it! He had such a sweet kind soul! I talked a little about him yesterday in my video. His friend Tina also made a nice tribute to him and posted it on his Facebook and Instagram. I told her she should post it on his channel. I am so glad we still have his channel to have him still around. Although he's all over my grow space! @LizE2654 Thanks hon, I appreciate your kind regards. 🩷 It's not what you see that indicates they need more calcium, it's just a fact they are calcium hogs and always need to uptake as much as they can. Sometimes the leaves on cattleya can feel flimsy. Once fed calcium they harden up. Makes it harder for bugs to attack. They always need a lot of calcium. It's not something you can over do. They take in calcium constantly. It's good to use either brand even in inorganic medium. It work in either mediums. Hope that helps. If you have any other questions please ask. 🤗🌹🩷💚

Hey hon, I was actually thinking more about your question. I should have explained it better. Even though orchids are calcium hogs, there are signs to look for or what you'll see that says you need to up you calcium. Black rot is top thing you'll notice. Especially on new growths! Or the tip of a Cattleya turning black. That's all indicators of not enough calcium. Sadly those marks will stay even if you up the calcium. Cattleya will twist instead of growing straight. That's sometimes and indication. I hope that helps a little more. I should have elaborated more on that for you. 😊

So it taught me to hide what I'm going through. Probably not a healthy way to deal with it, but you move on. I know even if I try to hide it many can still hear it in my voice. I had high hopes over the summer they changed my meds and my summer was fantastic! Soon as my cold weather hit, it's like I'm right back in pain where I started. I'm trying to get my Dr to understand that. We shall see. But knowing that you are all here for me helps alot! This is an amazing community of growers!
