Bravo for this movie. The drone shots are amazing. best regards 😉👌
Why are there bureaucratic delays? Do they not use technology or are they understaffed?
Poorly implemented tech (AIMA..)... but sometimes just the mentality. It s a relief to find someone practical and quick.
On the contrary I would say that they are overstaffed, so the management is not efficient at all, no one knows who does what, and no one is really responsible for all of this 😉
True! That's why I try to help expats since 2017, but sometimes it's complicated to "fight" with public services 😉
How does the scam work when you are selling something like a phone, and they call you offering to send it by CTT?
You pay in cash when the postman is here with your parcel
Not a very helpful video. Very general, like the contents came from Google, not expats or Sardinian residents.
do you know if there are any expat communities in sardinia or southern italy
There are some yes, Facebook will eb the best place to find some groups :)
Is there alot of refugees roaming around Sardinia?
Not that much, because there is no job in Sardinia :/
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant The Refugees flooding Europe are looking for handouts not jobs
Way too much carbohydrates in much of the foods. Sucks if you’re a diabetic. Way too much oil as well. I prefer Okinawa.
I have some allergies so I understand the diet issue... I don't know about Okinawa but sounds good :P
French helps too! Lots of older Portuguese speak it, ex emigrants.
It’s true 🙂
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome! 🤗
As Sardinia is an island and Italy is a peninsula, Sardinia is not "located in the south of Italy"!!!!
Hi everyone! Can I obtain this visa d7, I am Ytber (income: 3000-4000 euro per month) It's just a google adsense income, google says that income from google adsense is royalty.
If not a city, many places are typically calm, ANYWHERE in the world. Don't expect a foreign country to be what you fantasized it to be like the majority of people do. AND, of course they speak Portuguese!!! It's Portugal, remember? Expect it! A vacation is nothing like living somewhere full time. Reality sets in and the fantasy fades. Every single country has negatives, including Portugal.
I never had any of these troubles in portugal . But iv only visited for a month at a time as a tourist . But i recently got my NIF and ill be making the move over there permanently in the next 2 years. Great country if you ask me. I had hassle with drug deales in lisbon but theyre little farts of guys that youd pick up and throw from one side of the street to the other. The one fault is used car prices compared to where i live. Its crazy
Im from Porto. We have average of 220 sunny days per year in Porto, while London only have 126. Suggesting to viewers that weather in Porto is similar to London is almost a lie. So you already start your video with a lie, debunking other lies 😂 But yes, i confirm that northern Portugal weather is very different from south, more rainy and cold
So, no different to any other holiday area.
Would you compare Algarve to any other holiday area?
Lisbob did you already do a video on the tax scheme that includes Sardinia in "southern regions" I think it's 7% tax?
Hello, not yet in English but very soon 😉
Yes, tourism destroyed Lisbon. Please don't come.
Only tourism?.... 😉
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant not just. But that is other subject. ;)
Stop calling yourselves "expats". You're immigrants, like any other, and that's OK!
Hello, I've already replied to this question many times and why I use the word expats 😉 www.lisbob.net/en/blog/expat-vs-migrant-whats-the-difference-and-which-term-should-you-use
A Mafia internacional cheia de inveja, a tentar quebrar o crescimento fabuloso de Lisboa. Ide dar banho ao cao.
Relax Fernando, I did many videos about how Lisbon is fantastic, but you wake up only for the one that criticize a bit this beautiful city. Where were you before? 😀
1. Expensive? Insane pricing appear 2. Tourists? Stay away from tourist areas. This goes for all popular destinations 3. Heat? Outdoors early morning. Afternoon beach. 4. Bureaucracy? Welcome to Europe 5. 6. Bring your trainers. Do not walk when it rains 7. Do not work in Lisbon. Only overseas salaries can pay for the lifestyle 8. Uber. Forget public transport, except trains 9. Learning Portuguese? Forget it. = do not move to Lisbon. Visit. Unless you are wealthy, Lisbon is not for you.
I agree for 6 😀, but disagree for 4. Portuguse bureaucracy is of one the worst in Europe!
The most fascinating thing is that EXPATS caused all this mess.
If you ask me, the foreigners make Portugal. People from their ex colonies gives the country flavor. I find the native Portuguese, sad and boring. They love to pat themselves on the back and talk about their colonial past, which they are very proud of. I'm saying this as someone who has lived there. To say the least, I'm not a fan.
As a native Portuguese if you ask me, i find your comment also sad and boring. I think u don´t now almost nothing about Portuguese people. Did you really lived in Portugal? Smile and don´t be bitter.
This is great to read. To tell it to as many people as you can. We're tired of you all.
You know nothing about Portugal. Clearly.
Maybe you're not a fan because you don't really know them, or have met the wrong people :)
Agree 😀
Absolutely true. As an International Civil Servant I lived and worked in many countries around the world, but in particular the bureaucracy has stopped me from settling in Portugal after my retirement.
That's amazing to hear, and sad in a certain way. Portugal has so much unused potential... May I ask you where have you decided to retire?
Thank god.
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant Potential in Portugal? Yes, there is a lot. The question is how that potential is being used. Without boring you with a long political-economic analysis, Portugal, even so it benefits from of the EU, is not able to provide a future for their own people and instead sells out its potential to wealthier foreigners. Social services, housing market, banking sector, and the job market to name a few key issues, are not favourable to young Portuguese. That is what I criticise the Portuguese Government for.

Yes, Sardinia is a paradise :D
Is this AI content?
No, I’m a real person 🙂 I try to use royalty free stock footage, and Crete was difficult to find
The first one is not just for foreigners or tourists. Its always been like this on restaurants for everyone. Its part of the culture.
Scam culture?
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant You don't like this way. I for instance don't like the tipping method used in other countries. You don't have to pay the employee.
Come live in São João de Ver, it's cheaper(an 3 room apartment is 140k euros) and is 20 minutes from Oporto!
I'm Portuguese. What distinguishes Portugal from other countries is not the cost of houses, it is not the supermarket products, it is not the price of cars and the weather is not as good as it is often said, especially because the temperature of the sea water is overall quite cold. What is not easily found in other countries like Portugal is the possibility of eating quality food and drinking affordably in restaurants and street stalls.
How difficult would it be to become a resident of Sardinia as a retired person?
Hello Carol, it depends of where you are from :)
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant How about if you were from the United States?
I find it difficult to accept that a video about living in Greece and how friendly the people show very little Greeks. Not very many blonde and blue eyed people here. Just saying.
"Expats" 🤣
Is there any joke you would like to share?
Drop the 'expat' label already. If you're an EEA citizen you have the right to reside across those 30 countries, if you're not then you require a permit which makes you an immigrant, the same way I would be if I went to live in the US, Canada or post-brexit UK. Expat is just an invented marketing term.
I agree! I am an immigrant not an expat...Here for the long-term!!
@tamaramadelin4831 on top of that and from what I've heard, Portuguese bureaucracy is equally nerve-wracking with applicants from both developed *and* developing countries, the difference is the latter typically have bigger savings/cash reserves to support them during the inevitable limbo when they are waiting for their permit. So it's all the more reasons to ditch the term 'expat' and rather adopt 'EEA residents' and 'and immigrants' for legal reasons.
@jpnihil5868 My husband is French and we did it all as in no lawyers or representatives! #proud immigrant
Invented marketing term? Please allow me to teach you: 'Expatriate' originates from the Latin words 'ex' ('outside of') and 'patria' (one's country). An expat is anyone who left their country or was exiled from it. All expats are migrants, but not all migrants are expats
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant we have the term 'expatriado' in Portuguese as well. Legally speaking it has no relevance, as far as the authorities are concerned you are either an EEA + CH citizen, and therefore you have the right to reside across 31 countries, or you are not, in which case you must ask for a permit. It's a significant difference because, as anyone who has lived in Portugal can confirm, PT bureaucracy can drive even the locals insane. Using the term 'expat' rather than 'immigrant' *has* a marketing connotation in our time, as it directs perceptions towards middle/upper middle-class people, preferably from developed countries. I saw exactly the same thing when I lived in Belgium, with the use of 'expats' being channelled towards upper income people, irrespective of their citizenship. The law doesn't care: if you are a citizen from outside the 31 countries' bloc where you have the right of free movement, you are an immigrant.
Avarage annual rainfall: London: 585 mm Paris: 641 mm Lisbon: 774 mm Porto: 1340 mm In fact, the area comprising Northern Portugal and North west Spain can be counted among those where it rains more in the whole of Europe. Well.... fortunately I would say...😂
Thank you for your numbers! Sometimes people don't believe it 😉
I love the expression "Expat"...
Me too 😉
Don't come to portugal
Aproveita e vai-te também embora, não fazes cá falta nenhuma.
GO AWAY!!!!! When will you сιоωs stop moving here?! YOU ARE RUINING THIS CONTRY!!!!
We've spent a couple of months there. Rental cars are pretty easy to find. There is train service along the coast, though it's not particularly fast. We used a service to get our NIFs and a bank account.
Which train goes along the coast? For NIF number and bank account, you made the right choice to use a company :)
And transport out of the towns. Hmmm. Minimal except for Rede and Flixbus.
Imagine when flixbus was not existing!
It might be a good idea to buy a helicopter depending on how much terrain you have and if there's space to create a helipad. Can be quite cheap depending on your setup.
Little effort to learn Portuguese? Believe me... Really difficult. Luckily many older Portuguese speak...French. it really helps me.
Thansk for confirming that :)
10th misconception: Believing PortuGAL is only for women, a modern-day isle of Lesbos from Greek legends, as it were. umm no, there's no country called Portuguy but Portugal is open for all. ;)
Expatriate? Lol 💩 Immigrant, you're an immigrant
Does anyone know how life is in Sardinia? I want to move to Sardinia and have no idea, if near Cagliari, Olbia, or other city would be best. I live off of my Swiss disability pension and don’t need a job. I want to move near a city with public transportation, a good hospital, grocery stores, market, restaurants and cafes and nice beaches.
I'm sure the best place for you is Cagliari, you'll find there all you need and it is very easy to move from there. you can reach the airport in 7 minutes by train.
Olbia !
@@danilomarras4980 nice place but it has not all services as Cagliari has
You showed a lot of video of places on other continents.
You made spelling errors.
Stop using stock footage and bot voiceovers blindly; the time you need to edit them might as well be spent shooting and recording original work. You're hurting First Impressions with viewers.
Stop saying stuff without knowing the reasons behind :) So far this channel is doing very good, but thanks for the advice anyway
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant You didn't say I'm wrong.
You either ;)
Expatriate the glorification of a pure and simple emigrant. The British, of course, are expatriates the others are simple emigrants.
For your information, "patriate" comme from the latin "patria" which means native country. It specifically means someone who left its native country. You can be an emigrant from a region to another, but expatriate is the exact word to say someone who left its native country :)
Thanks for the info
You're welcome :D
Debunking false information: 7:05 - Music played with balalaikas or Flamenco dancing are not portuguese. 8:55 - We certainly don't have czech buses. Let me add a few more misconceptions to your list: 10 - Pastéis de Nata and Pastéis de Belém are not the same. 11 - The Christ the Redeemer statue is not located in Lisbon. 12 - The south bank of the Douro River in front of Porto is not Porto, it's a different city.
Really? I didn't know! You should do your own videos to show to the world how smart you are :D
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant - Well, now you know. Perhaps you learned something for future videos about Portugal. Knowing things that are common knowledge here in Portugal doesn't make me smart.
@@Lisbobexpatsassistant Keep an open mind and learn from your own mistakes. Your knowledge about Portugal is so low that you should stop making videos about realities you don't know. The way you mispronounce Portuguese words is embarrassing and try to show locals instead of random people you get from the Net. I don't understand how you can help expats who want to live in Portugal.
@@module79l28 Absolutely.
The letter J in Portuguese sounds exactly as in French. So, please say Alentejo (pronouncing the J as if you were saying Je suis in French) and not Alenterro, as if you were speaking Spanish.
Paradise and one of Europe‘s best kept secret. Not sure about cheap 😉as e.g. property prices are one of the highest in the World 🌍 in the case of the Costa Smeralda which is simply breathtaking beaufiful.
