Your videos are great; thank you so much. I am walking the Portuguese route in May and am also taking a rest day. If you could pick a place for your rest day now that you’ve completed the walk, would you still pick Valenca? Thanks so much!

Hiya, so glad you enjoyed our videos😊 Yes we would stay there again if we do the Portuguese again. We picked Valenca because it was around the halfway mark. It was a good place to stay an extra day, we stayed inside the fort which is fabulous & spend the day exploring. Have a great Camino you will love it. Buen Camino 🥾😀
What is that little pack attached to the strap on the front of his backpack? For glasses? Documents? Seems it would be handy. Thank you for sharing! 🩵
@@cardswithcrystals6294 You can use it for literally anything. Hubby used it for snacks/ & keeping his rubbish in it along the way. Glad you enjoyed videos. We also hiked the Camino Frances Last June/July it was fabulous- will soon share our experience along the path so keep an eye out 😊 Happy Hiking & enjoy the Portuguese in April 🥾
I loved this! You two made me laugh. Maybe I missed it but what time of year was this? You mention heat and all the rain 🤔 heading to week 2! I’m doing this route in late April/May.
@@cardswithcrystals6294 Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. We walked the Portuguese September 2023- rain was bad the second day then was great after that. April May will be a great time to go. You will love it 🥾😊
Congrats. The weather was definitely on your side. You didn’t press on with the Fimm afterwards? We did them in July but the weather was atrocious. So bad that we couldn’t pitch our tent. Just bad luck for us.
@@davidbracey3150 Sorry to hear you had bad weather. Yes we were certainly lucky the weather was good for us over those few days & we also done it in July. Unfortunately we didn’t go on to Fimm due to time restrictions & having friends waiting for us in Reykjavik. Hopefully we will get to go back & do it all again one day in the future 😊🥾
Done in 3 days! Courageous and amazing❤ Thanks for sharing the video.
@@tfsincms Thank you, it was tough carrying my pack but worth it for the views as they were magnificent & we were blessed with ok weather 😁. Would definitely love to do it again in the future.
At last, a video made by ordinary British people doing a Camino, talking as you go - unscripted. You will never know what a relief it is to find your videos. I cracked up when you said “shit, it’s going the wrong way”. Funniest thing I’ve heard on 100+ Camino vids. 🤣🤣🤣 Well played, guys - superb stuff. Don’t ever change. ❤
@@tonyrand580 Thank you for your great comments, we’re glad you enjoyed it.🥰 We also walked the Camino Frances for 6weeks in June this year & plan to shared that Journey hopefully soon aswel😂
Can’t wait to watch that one - as I’m planning to do the Frances in April/May. It’ll be completely out of my comfort zone….but what the hell. Time to do stuff!!! 😁😁
So beautiful nature!
I love Durango and Silverton. So glad you took the train ride. It’s so worth it. There is so much down there in that little corner of the world. Hope you’re having a great trip.
Great video and thanks for sharing. I'm hoping to go on the trail next year and it was really useful to see your experience of it.
@@jawa134 Thank you, glad you enjoyed our video & found it helpful. I’m sure you will enjoy the trail & the beautiful landscape as much as we did. 🥾🥾
Thank you for the video. I plan to do the same route end of this September. This video helped me a lot to know what to expect. Do you have a blog documenting your route. I would love to read it, hoping that I would find more info that you couldn't/didn't put in the video. Can I ask you what time you started your hike in the morning, and around what time you reached your destination city for that day?
Hi, thank you for you message & Im glad you enjoyed the videos & found them helpful. We have a face book page & Instagram page that I documented daily each stage this may help with more detail for you. Because each day was different distances it hard to say what time we arrived in each place but on average we walk about 4km per hr so on our longest days 28/30km days it took us 8ish hrs. That’s including stops…. I stop a lot to take photos and video 😜 plus coffee, lunch stops. On these days we would leave early about 6/7am. We do enjoy walking early to avoid crowds and enjoy the tranquility whilst plus we like to arrive at our destination early in the afternoon so we can explore each place a little. I hope this helps please take a look at my daily diary on our FB & Instagram pages. You can also find us on: Instagram➡️ bit.ly/3Z8jepj Facebook ➡️ bit.ly/3SlUmb Oh Ps….. we are currently walking th Camino Frances as I type this message out now on day 8🙌🏻 You will have an amazing time on the Portuguese. Buen Camino 🥾 😊
Hi everybody. I love you your conversation. Good Camino.
Thank you, Buen Camino 🥾
Thank you for putting this video together. I enjoyed watching it as part of the preparation for my Camino in June. I will be doing 7 days from A Guarda.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed watching it. Have a great Camino as sure you will 😊 Buen Camino 🥾
I've been using this tent for over 2 years now (older version). It has been a solid shelter for me. Ive been in extreme rain & wind without issue. Even pushed it into early winter. Heavy snow is a no go but can handle a light snowfall. As for leaks, like with all tents I've owned I do preemptive seam sealing at the start of every season. This has been a great and go to tent for me. Best wishes that your experiences are as good. Cheers.....Bob V
It has been a great tent for us also. We intend to use it more later in the year 😀
Sehr gute Übersicht ! Freue mich auf meinen Camino
Thank you, Buen Camino 🥾😊
Well done me and my partner are starting in Lisbon on the 17th of June and walking to Santiago Compostela it will be a great experience
Thank you, Lisbon to Santiago will be amazing and you will have a brilliant time. We are doing the Camino Frances 3rd June 😊 Buen Camino 🥾
I just came from the packing list video, did you check your bag with the tent attached on the outside?
Do you mean airport checkin? If so we stayed in Reykjavik the night before and for a few days after our hike. We took a big (100L) duffle bag with our backpacks & contents inside, packing up the pack the night before we left. Leaving the duffle bag with the hotel for when we returned. Hope that helps, if not let me know 😊
Cool videos team we will be watching much love sam simone
Thanks guys 😃
On our “LIST” for sure. I learned a lot watching this. Thanks.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it, it was a fab trek (tough with all the steps…they don’t call them the gringo killers for nothing 🤣) but worth it 🥾
Been to Iceland 5 times now and our next trip will likely include this hike. Really enjoyed watching.
Definitely do it, it was amazing hike the scenery was out of this world 😊
very good route is magic
The Portuguese Camino is a great route. We are doing the the Frances in June and can’t wait 😊🥾
What time of the year was this? We did the Camino Frances from SJPDP to Santiago in Sept-October 2023. Now looking at the Portuguese Camino
Hey, it was September 2023. It was great we really liked it. We’re doing the Frances in June & can’t wait 🥾😊
Very cool! On our List for sure. These videos taught me a lot. Thanks.
Glad you liked them, Inca trail was tough but a great hike and we had a great 4days 🥾 Plus it was festival time & Cusco was in full celebration it was amazing😃
Really enjoyed these two Camino videos. My wife and I did the same route in 2019 so it was really nice to see similar sights and to hear about your experience. Thanks.
Thank you so glad you enjoyed the videos. We loved the Portuguese Camino. We are planning to do the Camino Frances in June 😅🥾
@@acoupleofordinarytravellers My daughter did the Frances in 2019. I think our next “Camino” will be the Camino Dos Faros. We are also very interested in the Via Francigena after we retire in 2025.
There’s so many to choose 😊
Nice. Our 2019 Portuguese Camino was terrific -despite the unrelenting rain. I smiled when I heard you mention ponchos. Ponchos made a huge difference for us too. Bom Camino!
Bom Camino.. We soon learnt to love the ponchos they became our best friends.😂
Did you find the Crocs good to cross the river in, were they secure enough as I see some people put on neoprene scuba shoes which definitely don’t come off. I like Crocs though as they can also be used in the campsite toilets/showers
Hi, yes we found the crocs worked great for us on this hike. Easy & secure in the river crossings, great for the camp sites and showers, plus they dry so quickly unlike scuba shoe 😊
Very true about the scuba shoes they take ages to dry even the mesh ones
love your yellow backpack
Thank you 😍 I love it too. It’s from Decathlon, getting a bit tatty now but sure I’ll get a good few years still out of it 😅🤞🏻 Lindsey x
Awesome packing overview! It can be challenging to nail down a gear list for a trip like the Laugavegur, but I think you've done a great job. Well done!
Thank you 😀 It was a challenge to cover all aspects of weather whilst on the hike and keep the pack as light as possible (which it wasn’t 😂) We loved the Laugavegur the landscape was out of this world.
What month was that? Since it was 🥵
It was September and still hot 🥵 but it was also a great Camino 😃
Good job - great video
Thank you, Glad you enjoyed it😀 We loved it so much we are planning to do the Camino Frances in June 🥰
Among the best Camino videos made
Thank you, so glad you liked it 🥰
Is the amount (£73.90) per night or whole night
£24.63 each night. £73.90 for 3nights in total. 😊
Greetings, thank you for sharing your experience. We plan on walking Camino Portuguese Costal in May 2025, Porto to Santiago. May I ask if you pre booked your hotel/guesthouse/Bnb. Thank you so much.
We did pre book most in advance but we also change & swapped one or two along the way. Mainly booked via on booking.com or air B&B or direct. I like to plan and know where we are stopping so this worked for us. 😅 Many only book the night before or find somewhere when they stop for the night 😃
Thank you so much! I have a question: where is the exact starting point from Porto? Is it the cathedral Church at Porto downtown?
We collected our credentials from Porto cathedral the previous day as we were setting out early before the cathedral was open the next morning. We started from our accommodation which was at the bottom of the hill from the cathedral. Hope that helps 😊
Thanks! Then I have confidence to have to!@@acoupleofordinarytravellers
For a "proper" coffee in portugal you have to order a abatanado.
It was good 😊
Sharing this ❤
😃Thank you x
Have fun and enjoy your journey. Nice house.
Thank you 😃
Вперёд, бро😊😊
Nice room. Enjoy your journey. Good view.🌏🌎🌍🎒🎒
Thank you ☺️
Your tour video was a delightful virtual vacation! The friendly faces and wildlife made it feel so real. Like and support from Indonesia.
Thank you 😊
What a fun travel experience! Your virtual vacation brought the wildlife and friendly faces to life. Like and support from Indonesia.
Why foreigners love slums and bad side of India over 1000 good progress that India is doing.
Is the trial clearly signposted ?
Hi, yes it is clear & signposted along the trail. 😊
Sanitation is a big problem/. That’s an understatement
All the money they make in India yet the people live in shit. The workers never revolt there though. That's why the globalists want to replace Western populations with asiatics, that's why they are flooding our white nations with fast breeding Asian hordes. We are being replaced by a workforce that passively slaves for wages that just about keeps them alive.
Reminds u of fallout
Coffee ❤
Was top notch mate
Get yourself some big hats (with straps of course). Also, the metallic umbrellas though expensive, seem to work great on those warm, sunny days.
Thank you, will give it a go 😊
😂😂😂Orange bucket alert!!
Hahah oh yeah… can’t escape the orange buckets they seem to get everywhere 😂
Awesome! Congratulations 🎉🎉😊
Thank you 😃
