Facing Burnout as a Musician

Here's my second attempt at this more conversational "podcast" style video. I'm realizing that I made too many generalizations and didn't really communicate some of these points super well, but hopefully the main points are impactful enough to help at least a few people out there. Heavy video. I tried to make it enjoyable. Thank Patreon: www.patreon.com/branyards Instagram: branya...

I like how you do sound tests of both the kit and how it sounds without!
Can I plug it into my guitar amplifier?
highly underrated dude ur great lmfao
Hi, good video man. Am I able to create my own set sounds then save? Also, I can barely hear my snare & bass even with volume maxed. Ty in advance!!
'promo sm' 🌈
That's actually pretty good advice. Thanks man
lovely content man, keep it up
I find it's way easier on an e-kit for sure.
Very good very cool😊
WHOOOOOOAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮😮😮😮 ….. 🤯
It is a 5 piece kit, cymbals are not counted....
I use this mainly for recording demos for my band. It's great! Yeah it's a bit small, but for a guitarist learning and tracking simple stuff it's great.
Cool video
Thank you for the sound test, this was my major concern! I am single with no children but live in an apartment with neighbors on both sides. Occasionally I'll hear someone coughing or like a dog barking but almost never hear anyone talking unless they are shouting loud. I'm also 5'11 but I would guess with longer legs than you since you said you have a long torso with short legs. But this was also a slight concern because I've watched several other reviews of this and they all said the exact same thing. I should clarify that I'd be new to drumming and realistically what I was looking for was a cheap new hobby that I can also get solid cardio time in on. The reason why I searched this specifically on youtube is because I saw this today on sale at guitar center for $349 and that seemed pretty reasonable to me. Just curious if this seems like a good set for my conditions or if there's another set I should be looking into as a beginner? Sorry for the long message thanks for you time!
Dont like the loud stick sounds without amplification. Too loud , man, too loud!
can i swap the ride cymbal voice for a right crash sound? essentially asking if i can swap the ride for a crash
Can you connect your headphones by bluetooth or only by jack?
Hi! I recently got an Alesis Surge Special Edition kit and I can't figure out why I can't choke the cymbals. On the box it said it had chokeable cymbals... Idk. I tried choking the cymbals with the sound module and also in Logic. No luck. haha Also, do you happen to know about setting up an electronic drum set in Logic so that I can map the side-stick and rimshots and hit hat features to all work properly like a real drum set? Thanks! :)
Did your comes with the red and blue cord that hooks in the back?
I would rather buy a good used Roland kit. Totally Expandable and reliable.
50/50
Hey Brandon :-) I actually have the same edrums and had this video recommended! Great video dude
WUAHUUUUUUUUUU
Can you set the other tom pad to be a ride cymbal instead so you could have 2 crashes without buying another cymbal pad?
Would you still recommend for a beginner in 2023? I also wanna use it for Rock Band 4
i would not recommend this if you wanna play it for longer run (like from beginner to having better understanding playing drum). the racks wobble a lot and it's too small, people with more money would jump to surge series instead of nitro imo. i think with relatively little bit more money you can try roland td-1dmk, it has solid racks and bigger with all mesh head. the difference is roland doesn't have bass drum tower, the trigger attached on the rack but it still using regular bass drum pedal and support double pedal. for module drum sound, both pretty much not great like yamaha dtx at the same level imo, but if you have vst drum, you can just connect the midi to your pc and using vst sound for your drum instead of using the module
@prohanta9360 I ordered the Nitro red edition on the 13th and got it yesterday, $300 brand new on Ebay. I wanted to get the surge I just couldn't do that price leap, I'll upgrade maybe next year. I'm wanting to learn seriously and play Clone Hero / Rock Band 4 lol.
I'm no professional but maybe you could do some research on the Simmons Titan 50 or Titan 70? They seem pretty good and much better than this drumset at a similar price range :)
@@JoTheXplosiv Thank you for the reply! I ended up going with a Alesis Nitro special edition, I got it new on a crazy deal on Ebay! I've been playing Clone Heroes on my gaming PC, much easier than getting an edrum kit to work on Rock Band for the Xbox One. :)
@@KaiserSenpai420 That's great!! Glad you're happy with what you've got, keep playing! ;))
Great video! I’m sold on it. Going cop the Alesis 8pc soon.
hey guys, i guess that's it
DUDEEEE thank you so much for this video. i’ve been contemplating this e-kit for a few months now and doing lots of research and you managed to answer every question i had. and those sound demonstrations saved my life. i live with roommates on both sides and i was worried how annoying the tapping sounds would be. you’re a mf blessing🙏🏾
Perfect review this. Thinking of purchasing this but was always worried about the sound through the house. Seems ok...well i say that now until the wife hears it 😂😂
Amazing video! Thank you so much for this. I was worried about annoying my neighbors. Thank you
I've been playing for 13 years and I have one. I have very limited space and I generally have to play with my headphone on become I can't be too loud where I live. Worst part about this kit to me is the frame is a bit wobbly and the heads are a bit small but I guess for the price it's still pretty good
Thank you!!!
It's not a good set, not even for beginners. I've been playing on it for about a year and a half and I've grown tired of it. It's too small and the module is very annoying to work with. Also the bass pedal is very loud and kinda defeats the point of going electronic.
Which one do you recommend instead of it? Thank you
Do you have crash 2 on your drum
hi would you think it would be a good idea to go from a roland tdk1 to this kit as im looking for a good buget kit with a bass tower
this is so incredibly helpful. Thankyou so much!
Don't quit your day job.
Hey would you recommend Behringer or Alesis?
Hey would you recommend Behringer or Alesis?
Sounds absolutely horrible!! Does it had midi out or something to connect a computer??
thats why i want to buy this to make "shure" no one will be complaining
Time to buy 😎 🥁 🙋🏾♀️
Does this comes with foot drum pedal? I bought a roland t1 dmk and I was disappointed it did not cine with drum pedal. And what kind a Amp do you have?
Outstanding review. Thank you. I do admit I started laughing around 8:06. But yeah, headphones. 😂
Bad ass kit👍
the one thing that pushes me to return it is how ridiculously low it is for me, im trying to find things i can use to raise it up atm
Dope video thank you sir.
Considering an electronic kit in the near future, after a lifetime of acoustic drumming. This is the best review on youtube, for sure. The kit isn't even relevant, but the setup demonstrations are critical for folks who are in the market for such a kit. "How does it actually sound to folks around you" ... thanks for this.
*cough cough* you should sub lmao
