Abaqus Coupled temperature-displacement tutorial Brake disc VW Golf IV III/III
This tutorial is showing how to make coupled stress-thermal analysis of rear disc brake from VW Golf IV.
Basic assumptions in that model is:
- Parts that like caliper, mounting bracket and piston they are rigid bodies, and they are not conduct the heat generated during braking.
- Angular speed of disc and pressure of braking fluid is function of time, and it is defined by tabular data. Also range of that data allows to make analysis that lasts 4.27 s, but here is computed only 0.05 s.
- Property of disc material as specific heat, elastic is changing with temperature and it is defined in tabular data.
- Properties of other materials as pad back plate are assumed to be constant through all temperature changes (to assume changing properties as for disc its only need to put more data dependent from temperature).
- Computing step used in analysis is "Coupled temp-displ" with transient response and maximum increment equal to the 0.0025 which gives a balance between smoothness of results and computation costs.
- Interaction between disc and frictional elements of pads is frictional contact with friction coefficient depend from temperature. Also all energy dissipated during brake is changing only to the heat energy that is cause warm the brake elements. There is no energy dissipated to the vibrations cause the sounds etc.
- Heat energy generated in the brake is divide that the 11% of it is distributed to the slave surface surface witch is pad, and rest to the disc.
- All parts have predefined temperature equal to the 20 deg.
- There in no contact between rigid bodies as for example between piston and caliper. Their D.O.F were taken by the B.C. and loads, for example piston could move only along his axis, but in one direction his move its limited by the pad with contact and from other side load that is pressing piston to the pad.
By the computational cost and time need to finish the simulation here is shown only part of the results.

Movie is a simple example showing the analysis of timing system from motorcycle engine. In this, the first part will be shown how to add links to the model and define the properties of the component. In addition, the bonds will be assigned to a cause specific kinematic motion of the system. The movie shows just example of the use of the program, the steps may be performed on each repetition of ...

Thank's for this video)
15:46
Plz if it is wrong..then edit ..and make..upload the correct one..
Yeah 😂
Can you explain to me what does the table (edit amplitude) in 4:26 mean?. Thank you so much
Sir Can we model bolt as shell element in abaqus Plz reply
which year this abaqus is??
plz send me the file
thank you for the great tutorial. however i faced a problem where my input and ring gears aren't meshing, there was a distance between the teeth. i tried to replicate the parameters you entered but still, the problem wasn't fixed. can you tell where the problem might be?
How I could termoform in Abaqus?
Imprint at 14:30 is not coming here , although following all steps .. please help
Hold down the left mouse button
It's great job!Could you share the inp document with us?
Thank You, was more helpful than the guide PDF
thank you very much for the videos but u video have some error ,lose some plastic rate data,is‘t?
Hi! I've tried to replicate your model in the software Adams 2020... but when I create the pair Upper - Left, an ERROR occurs! How can I resolve it? I don't know what I'm missing in the various steps! Thanks for your answer!
have you found any solution?
Could you explain what changes did you make to the model around 8:56 so that it started working properly?
Are you still active?
how much advertisement do you want? Yes!
This is stupid.
Hi. Can somebody explain to me how STEP works in ABAQUS? What is the difference between modeling Step-Contact and Step Rev + press? Why is one static and another transient?
I have a question it's sphere?
What is the objective of this project
Hello thanks for the tutorial! it was so helpfull ....can please send me the CAD file
Nice simulation!!! Could you send me the Abaqus Input File, please? edgarbc2693@gmail.com
why audio is turned off
is it the same as ' transverse follower force '
Hello sir i did everything same like u but when I opened odb file and clicked on results I am getting only 1 step.... No other step.. Can you please tell me what could be the reason
Got the same problem. did u solve it?
@@goshabogoslovsky8488 @Yatesh Patil it will take 10-12 hours to get resut, first only one step will be shown..but as time passes it will come
Can you share the catia model please? maksmeh2@gmail.com

Hi you made a good job. I am really stuck in one project . i can't do the meshing part. Could you help me ?
can someone fuckng speaks that makes tutorials on adams on youtube. i have no idea why you do anything and it not that helpful
can I use the same concept for modelling bolts instead of rivets?

ERROR: There is no time information for analysis .given.Last_Run. Therefore, it cannot be animated. Either read the desired results or graphics file into this analysis or enter another analysis name and try again. can you help me to overcome this error.......! If you answer me.. It will be very very useful.
What the fuck? Useless
your life can't be function without e clip, you prick
hello, you made fantastic job. can you send me inp or fea file to me. zamiyonas@gmail.com

hello. How can I add trajectory from matlab to model on adams?
Hello Is there any way to add the trajectory from MATLAB to the model in Adams and simulate it?
Hello Cảnh Đoàn, bạn cũng tìm hiểu Adams à, có fb không cùng trao đổi, phần mềm này mạnh nhưng ít người dùng !!!
Help me please
Hi. These videos are really helpful. But I still don't get the results. If you can help me I will be so grateful !
If i can send you the file to have a look at it.
Great video man, keep up the good work! look forward to your next upload
I'm lost
"Heat energy generated in the brake is divide that the 11% of it is distributed to the slave surface surface witch is pad, and rest to the disc." How come the 11 %? Do you have some books or papers or other sources you could recommend to read on this? I'm working on a fricitional heat model myself, and i'm kinda stuck since i cant find any information on this.
can you send me the CAE file please ??
