One Year of 3D Flyin' with E-Flite ERATIX
Переглядів 3693 місяці тому
Join me as I try to fly above my skill level, and share my story thoughts on 3D/XA flying with after ONE YEAR with the E-Flite ERATIX! I have SO MUCH to learn, and this hobby just keeps getting better and better! I filmed a flight recently on the head-cam set up, with the E-Flite Eratix. This rc plane has taught me just as much, if not more than the flight simulator and after one year of flying...

We built a plane! Will it CRASH?!
Переглядів 3933 місяці тому
Join us on the maiden flight of our very FIRST scratch-built foam board RC airplane! ✨The M-100! ✨ This is the first scratch-built airplane that we have attempted. We've built numerous short course trucks, drift cars, crawlers and more, but they weren't anything like this! Building something aerodynamically sound enough to not plummet out of the sky is nothing like assembling a chassis and taki...

Hello there! Love your videos! Just got an Eratix and a NX7e+ and Realflight. Realflight is something everyone should use first aye lol. Man that is a big help. Actually tried vr lastnight that made it more realistic but the resolution is not as good but i think it will help in ways. So now for the Q&A lol. What transmitter are you using there. What did you start on and what are you using now? And what is your setting for the eratix if you have that available. You seem to have it dialed in. Was it a BNF or Pnp? I had one short flight it was a bit windy but i think it will be amazing. What kind of Glue do you use on it as well. I know i will need it or your not having fun right? HAHAHA! Any preflight tips and adjustments for the plane the controller or the electronics would be greatly appreciated :}
Looks like an extended series of flight control failures !! Nice job on the save ;-)
Sorry UA-cam has put too many adds on your video that makes it such that I can't watch it.
what body is that
Straight glued bro!
Love the "All Natural" look N design...
Porque precisa da plancha😂😂😂😂😂😂
For an an extra challenge and excitement 😂😂
Nice. How do you stay so smooth on the driving lines.? I’m all over the place when I’m on a clay track..
Practice practice practice! Haha Drifting helped IMMENSELY with steering control and precision as well
Great footage going to maden ultrix today. What camera did you use to film with the quality eas great?
Thank you friend! Canon m50mkii for the b roll and an iPhone for the flight footage
what tires you running?

@@mikechappell2377 Yep. 😂👍🏼
Discontinued, you can no longer get it 😢
What model is this? I'm working on a similar, concept models 1930 Barnstormer, got it out of a horse barn in the middle of nowhere for a few dollars - seems complete. Love this plane.
It's a one off scratch build! The owner has the original plans from the build in 1992 👍
@@honeywoodhobby that's awesome, the receipt in the box of the one I have is dated 2/1/1978 Hopefully I find as much fun and success as you all have.
Love the scarf...good looking plane.
I can't get enough of open cockpits and scarves 👍🤪
I kinda want one now...
I do too 😂
Can u share your front bumper mock up?
Its a Cchand from RC4WD 👍🏼
nice!
Thank you Elijah!

Practicing low inverted exits are scary 🤣👌
I was looking at this but in the EU they were rather expensive ( read 220 euro PNF). Wanted an umx evo timber but that wasn't on available till 2 days ago(bought the crack 6 weeks before). I got a crack yakk ( 180 euro with 3 batts EU perk I guess). I must say a crack yakk is not BNF or PNF takes quite the time if you don't want to be anoyed everytime you look at the seams. Flying the Yakk , maybe I would like it to be a bit heavier like this looks but not by much. I have zero regrets though. This for me openend up the 3d flying too. The only reason I will buy the umx evo timber is that I can fly it in a bit more wind and practice landings with it more right outside my house.
Awesome! The Crack Yak is fantastic without a doubt, and another great tool to hone your skills! So glad you are enjoying it! You'll love Timber Evo for that! A bunch of us setup a fabric runway at the field and fly our UMX planes in 20mph winds lately and almost die laughing 😂 Too much fun! Thanks for watching and sharing friend! 👍
foamies are a gateway drug in a sense.. the good kind!
@@3v1Bunny Hahaha! They are indeed! 😂
@@honeywoodhobby oh and as of today umx turbo timber evo owner .. HUGE box haha was rather impressed. Shit weather so maiden will have to wait till tomorrow.
@@3v1Bunny CONGRATS!!! It's nice and big for a UMX! Good luck and God speed friend! Let me know how it goes! 💯🔥🙌
You two have become excellent pilots.
Thank you very much!!! 🙏🏼 We have one heck of a support system at Sky Ranch! 👍🏼
What are your favorite maneuvers and methods of practicing 3D and extreme aerobatic flying? Do you have an E-Flite Eratix or a different flat foamie? Share your thoughts and stories! Thanks for watching friends! 👍

Can this fly without a gyro
@@tbg_linear9487 definitely! Gyro/as3x etc will help with stability when doing harriers and in the wind, but it flies fine without one as well
Nice
Thank you Mark!!! 👍🏼
You should highlight your journey on how you learned to fly. Keep up the good work and enjoy the journey
Thank you very much! Everyday 🙂 That’s a great idea! I think I’ll continue the series and do just that! 👍🏼
Nice! 👍
Thank you! More to come (the crazy stuff lol)!

Thank you friend 🙂👍🏼 Makin’ memories that’ll last!
I wonder if there has ever been one with a water feature and or if it's possible
That would be AWESOME. 👍🏼
👏👏👏nice concept and really interesting proportions. Thought out and built by yourself is always something special. I'm excited about M1.1!
Thank you very much!!! We are excited too! 😎 Thanks again for the kind words and support 🙏🏼
Well done mate 👏

Awesome!!! My favorite plane to practice with. Have an awesome day 💯💯💯💯
Ours too!! Thank you friend! You as well! 👍🏼
Please tell me you got some long exposures
I don’t have a decent (photo) camera at the moment 😬 Stop on out sometime dude 👍🏼
Impressive flying skills !! There’s nothing like flying your own contraption for the first time… Couple of pointers: 1. An 8 x 4 prop is probably a bit much for the motor and ESC. If I recall a 6 x 4 might be more appropriate for your motor. Sizing the prop is best done by looking at the spec sheet and using the manufacturers recommended size. 2. Balancing the plane is VERY important. The rule of thumb is that the plane is balanced when it sits horizontal or slightly nose down when supported under the wings at a point 1/4 to 1/3 back from the leading edge (approximate center of lift). If it is tail heavy controlling it can be very difficult and often results in a crash. Having said that… great job ! Welcome to the hobby !
Thank you very much Chris!! This is the best corner of the hobby we’ve found so far 😉 Flyin’ has really become our jam. After a few flights and very poor battery life and rather warm motor, we went to a 6x4! It was a lot less lively and left us with similar flight times, but the motor was much cooler! It CG’d out about 1/3-1/2 way back on the wing but still felt a bit tail heavy. The closer I looked at it the more I realized the horizontal stab was angled a bit down 😂 I promise to measure things more next time haha. Thank you kindly for the wise words and advice! We’re starting the next one soon and plan to film the process this time 👍🏼

WOW! Great video and narration. Another newbie here. Would you recommend any specific UA-cam videos for learning the 3D aerobatics you demonstrated? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. All the best to you.
Thank you very much John! A lot has been learned from our kind friends at the field and good old stick time (especially on the sim 😂) Michael Wargo, Two Brothers rc, and others on YT have helped too! Thanks for watching 🙂👍🏼
Wow great job, next time MORE POWER!!! LOL
Thank you Robert!! 👍🏼 I completely agree 😂 the M-101 is getting a waaay hotter motor package hahahaha
Super
Shut up! How is your son literally what all of us THOUGHT we were as kids. ***** BTW UA-cam I've seen this kid fly. I 100% know that he is flying that plane.
When I was your age I was dreaming to get such a cool RC airplane... It was too expensive and nobody sell it in my area...You know, many years before internet. I hope your realise the luck you have to live in this world son.
true!
DAMN THAT WAS CLOSE!
I asked one UA-camr if he had a favorite plane over all the others he flies. And he said the UMX Ultrix, hands down. So here I am taking a look. There are a lot of blown out days here in South Dakota.
This is a FANTASTIC plane in the wind 👍🏼 I do prefer the full size as the UMX is reaaally small but either way they are FUN planes 😄 Thanks for watching!
Nice and green. The crop duster will crash the plane and there will be toxic spill and fire. 🔥
😅😊😊🎉
Never stop dreaming, soar the skies!
