First attempt at filming attached to car. You can still hear wind noise in quiet bits in the songs.

The Weekenders was a one-off comic television pilot starring Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, produced by Granada Television for Channel 4. Broadcast on Wednesday 17 June 1992 as part of a series of pilots entitled Bunch of Five, it was a surreal sitcom in which two friends, Jim and Bob visit a meat festival taking place in an open field. They are then chased by aliens who want the meat they have b...

I wish someone would remaster / upscale all these classics
phil oakey was a regular fixture at meat festivals in yorkshire and the north east of england. he was mainly interested in quite highly seasoned meats.
Top class, cheers for the upload
14:38 Jim! What the handbag carnival partridge underfelt is going on here? lol
8:34 Phil Oakey! lol
Cheaper than acid - and you don't have to wait 16 hours to come down. Best bit of Vic 'n Bob ever!
Hitler Avenue ...
Was that Doon Mackichan with the magical, flight inducing chest? There's no mention in the credits.
2:48 Hitler Avenue
I like the fact that Vic Reeves plays a character called Jim in this.
The reason for that is because Vic Reeves's real name is Jim Moir.
Vic Reeves family actually use to use ouija boards when he was younger but the only person they could ever get in touch with was Oliver Cromwell he says. 😂 Listen to his Desert Island Discs.
6:45 According to Jim, Bob actually wet himself after Paul said this line!
Don't remember this.
The guys in the red jumpers slowly attending the meat stall is truly brilliance. Vic and Bob are Masters of Surreal humor.
Genius. End of.
Couldn't of worded it better.
This is apparently from 1992 but I swear it looks like the 70s.
WTF did I just watch?! 😂
I still randomly sing "nice one Cyril, nice one son..." while slightly pumping my fist, to this very day
The Alan Ladd Memorial Heel Bar 😂
6:45 Bob wet 'em
Bit of a send up of The likely Lads .... ? A lot more beside though ...(if so ... ).
I had this on video but since thrown away so nice to see this again. I always thought a series would have been nice. Having said that it's dated a bit and patchy. Catterick was also good and I would like to see that gain.
Catterick is also on UA-cam. You'll find they reused quite a bit from this in that.
4.47 Nepalm Death? Even Vic's dog is in this.:) Is the car chase in his back garden?Wow Nepalm Death get a plug in the credits
I remember seeing this on TV in 1992, four years before I was born, and I thought it was… no, wait…er….ooh, I’m all confused!
One of the greatest works of art ever committed to film ☝️
£300 quid they got offered a few mins later they say it was £400 they were offered for the meat
They were initially offered £300. Bob said "We could have got £400" - and of course he's right as you never accept the opening offer in any negotiation. I thank you.
@@lingsbord4805By Jove, I knew there had to be a logical explanation.

hahah! Well spotted!

Alright Sos
It truely was some of the very finest cinematography the world has ever seen. I like the red shoes. I like the hedges, however there was some bad language such as "we" and "and" over twice during (and after) several sentences. Electric Russel now works at Matalan on the old old Kent road. He never let fame go to his head, knees or thromboid. Overall I give this 4 and 6 quarter golden melons. Roughly 7 conkers in today's money. I have to go now, back to my sweet sweet eggs.
Taped this on vhs when it was broadcast. Watched it loads of times. Loved it and still do!!!
Tommy Cockles!
my God they look so young here vic and Bob
BOILED ONIONS!
Philip Oakey looked very good in this programme.
I thought the 1st policeman was Jack Dee, checked out list & was wrong 😎
one of my faves:-):-):-) thanks:-)
One of my favorite R&M quality products, complete genius.
Recently taped it to pc from my original vhs . Followed on my tape by set of six!
"We've got to get them into that booth." "Jim, that's not a booth. It's more of a kiosk." Jesus Christ, I haven't seen this for years! Thanks for uploading it. I wish House of Fools was more like this. I want a whip like Bob's!
Oh, and the Alan Ladd (sic) Memorial Heel Bar still makes me laugh 23 years later. Fuckin' brilliant.
Flippin' mental
Electric Russel.. lol
Cracking intro. The rest was shite.
Is that Phil Oakey?
Yup, it is Phil of the lop sided haircuts.
Taped it on release and still have it somewhere. 100% my type of humor :'D
My god- they look so young!
true genius...
Can you imagine what the toilets are like at a Meat Festival.
LOL now thats funny !
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The very best Vic & Bob, of all time!
Spencer Pendle !
Still have this on VHS. The thrash metal bit is 'Unfit Earth' by Napalm Death, but what's the little acoustic guitar bit after Simon Day's bit at the start?
Russel Dennet of Human League. Watch the credits at the end!
I nearly got crippled at a Napalm Death gig when some arsehole jumped off the amp stack and landed feet first on my head.
