The most important reason why Taylor is so huge is that she loves and appreciates her fans! that’s why her fans love her in return and will follow her through everything! It all comes down to this. She got to have control over her career, she got to experiment through different genres, she got to take risks and fight for herself and artists’ rights etc, but it all comes down to the fact that she will always have the support of her fans and that’s why she was able to do all of these things. Obviously she’s handled it like a pro and made good choices, but if she didn’t have that special connection with her fan base I don’t think she would reach this level

She choose a demo guy to produce her first album instead of a more well know one. She started co-producing her albums on her sophomore album which won AOTY. Four producers have won their 1st AOTY with her (Chapman, Martin, Antonoff, Dessner). Antonoff said she was the first one who accepted him as a producer. He has won Grammy Award Producer of the Year 3 years in a row. She started her own management company at 16 in '06. Her first manager sued the family. Her trajectory has been fascinating- she's an anomaly- but she accomplished a lot with the help of her family & friends.

The key with re-recording is the artist needs to own the song. Taylor wrote her catalog so she owned the song, she did not own the master recording. So artists like George Michael would only be able to do that if they wrote and owned the songs.
