7:43 - 7:49 that drum fill by Willy Ketzer is so on point! After the lead given by Helge on the piano, Willy brings the song into another place. That's a fantastic performance by everybody! Ira Coleman on the bass groovy and tasty counterpoint to Helge. And Helge brilliant and random as always.

OMG why did they nerf this song for the album?? Just hearing this version now and it’s so weird and unique. It doesn’t sound a whole lot like anything I’ve heard before. With the harmonizing and syncopated rhythm it reminds me of 90’s and early 00’s R&B / pop, but with dub-style percussion and Thom’s unmistakable nervous whaling. The album version has a very familiar, easy, predictable sound. It’s nice but MAAAN this version is better!

As much as I adore the final version as a closing song, I would love if they put this version on the anniversary re-release of In Rainbows. It's a lot more powerful and desperate, reminds me a bit of Pyramid Song.

this sounds better than the studio version, I heard this one first and the studio one just sounds flat compared to this

Saw an interview about how Thom tried to fit all of this into the album version. He spent a whole day on a single element of the tune and the arrangement was driving him mad. Ed and Jonny sent him out for a walk. Took the track and stripped it back to what we know today. Stripped back guitar, barely any drums, muted piano and electronics. Thom came back from his walk and listened to it, burst into tears and ordered it to never ve touched again. :)

The best song ever that was never recorded. After all these years coming here to listen to this version, I'm quite sure I'll be disappointed if it ever gets a studio version. It happened with identikit, which they ruined with a overproduced studio version.

I still keep coming back to listen to this version. It's a billion times better than the over produced bad taste studio version.
