You can use other email service Outlook ,yahoo etc..

To allow us to keep the public IP address of the dvr permanent, in addition to that the Firewall automatically translating the data using NAT to the 8585 TCP port this is how we can use the DYNDNS domain name to access the Hikvision dvr from outside of the private network and manage and access the dvr GUI remotely,hope it help.

@@Techseriesworld The issue is that some Hikvision UA-cam video shows the on-screen date and time in green color. I wanted to know how it's done and someone said that in the OSD there is a button to change the colour. But, I have no such button on my Hikvision GUI. MY version is the latest V4.1.64. Do you know where this colour button is?

@@mickcarson8504 Hi Mike, go to 5.00min mark of the video. You'll see the User Name being filled out with hikgcc123@gmail.com. I have found that if you just enter the hikgcc123 part of the email address into this 'User Name' field, it will often work. Omit the @gmail.com part. Of course, you'll be using your own email address name.

@@Dafecat1 I followed the 5 sec mark and saw that there are two user names field to fill in. The first one is up the top, under the Sender field. Here, I typed the full email address, e.g. john@dodo.com.au. The second field below is User Name. Here I typed the same email address as the Sender's Address and the confirmed Password fields. In the Receiver box below, I typed any name but decided to choose 'Hikvision NVR'. On the right of this Receiver pane, again I chose to type john@dodo.com.au as the Receiver's Address. On the far right there is a 'Test' button. I saved the settings then clicked on the 'Text' button. A pop-up appeared with words: 'Testing failed'. Now, you said that just type the username, less the @ and the domain in the User Name field (just above the Password fields). I did that too, typed 'john' and it says: 'Testing failed', again. Now, following your video at the 5:00 mark, I did not see you typing just the 'hikgcc123 alone (without the @gmail.com), you typed the full email address. Then you typed additional information on the 'Receiver' pane or box. But you did not immediately click on the 'Text' button, why? I continued watching the video till the end and saw you continuing with Firefox and then elsewhere you clicked on a Test button. No wonder this is junk. Clicking on the Test button doesn't work, but clicking on another Test button.... you say it works? Why you didn't click on the Test button of the Email page?

The difference in Domain name at 1:24, is that it doesn't say 'HiDDNS like my Hikvision GUI. It says DynDNS. That's the confusing part. They have to change everything, even when it isn't absolutely necessary. But, thanks for pointing where the HiDDNS is in the field. However, in the Setting/Network/TCP/IP on the left, and the TCP/IP tab above (this is my GUI on Windows 7, remember), looking down in the page, the DHCP and DNS check boxes are greyed out and cannot be clicked on. At 1:34, you wrote a name in the Domain field. May I know what is that and whose domain name is it? Let's start with solving this part and I will be back for more instructions. Thanks.

@@mickcarson8504 Hi Mick , if you want free access your hikvision device remotely anywhere you have to go Hik-connect its for free if you go to DynDNS its not free you have to purchase dynDNS Account Free Configuration Go to Mane Menu - Configuration - Network -platform Access _ Enable Hik-Connect . if your device this option not available you have to do your device firmware update more details give me your device model number
