Welcome to my channel for like minded pipe smokers (I’m not making videos at the moment). I am a medically retired disabled Army Veteran and Police Officer. I walk with a cane, I live in the woods, smoke my pipe and attempt to adopt the pace of nature as long as it’s not too cold outside and wolves aren’t chasing after me. Okay, I lied it’s just squirrels and they’re everywhere. East Coast Canada.

Update to the Kiribi Lighter Problem

My review of the Kiribi lighter. I smoke one bowl a day and the hinge wears out in two years. When you light your pipe the flame can reach the polymer T hinge and melt it. One reason I use a quality lighter is to avoid plastics, and you still have to worry about the risk of burning and inhaling that stuff. The plastic hinge is weakened by the excess heat, it won’t have enough pressure to depres...

All true unfortunately. But it doesn’t mean we can’t strive for better. I’d like to live in seclusion too, but that’s no real way to survive. I wish I had the solutions and the energy to make it better, but all I can do is try my best. Cheers!

I saw Tobacco Slave yesterday. I really did not know just how bad it was in Malawi. Truly depressing. The children being involved because there is only money for bare essentials, which don't include enough to buy wood to even make a simple chair.
I’ve visited orphanages when I was deployed to Haiti. I have a soft spot for the kids. Truly depressing indeed.
I smoked a pipe to quit cigs. I had been smoking organic tobac (shred, roll your own) ... Anyway, the pipe tobac caused asthma. Damn that was tough. I couldn't find and "safe, ethical" tobac unless I made it myself. Good luck with your journey
