Hi, I’m Ethan! I’m a competitive Speedcuber from Massachusetts, and my main event is 2x2. I currently have a 1.27 PR average that ranks me 28th in the world, and a 0.87 PR single.
Other events that I enjoy include many sprint events such as Skewb, Clock, and Square-1.
My greatest cubing achievements are getting my first New England Record of 1.50, my current PR of 1.27 peaking 27th in the world, and coming 2nd at the North American Championship with a 1.59 average.

Just One Lockup From the Win | 1.59 Second Place Average at NAC
This is easily one of the most crazy things that has happened in my life. I set a really high goal this year of getting a championship podium as a joke, thinking it would never happen. When I go to larger competitions, I always choked in the finals with terrible results all around, but this comp I had a great mental just hoping to have fun with no expectation of podium. After the second solve when I counted a 1.37, the nerves finally hit me, and it dawned on me that I had a real shot at a podium.
I tried to keep my nerves calm, but I misonelooked the third solve, and my heart was racing. I had some huge lockups on the fourth and fifth solves, and I thought I had sold myself a podium. When I walked off I heard stage, my friends had told me that I had a locked third place, then a second place.
Even though I just came one lockup away from the win, this was still one of the most crazy things that has happened to me in my entire life, and I am going to remember this for a long time.
I want to thank my friends for keeping me motivated and and excited to keep cubing, even when my results weren’t the greatest. You guys made my entire journey much better. More specifically, I want to thank Quinn, my table partner for keeping me calm. I thought sitting next to Quinn would make me more nervous, but in reality, his positivity kept me much calmer. I also want to thank Sid for pushing me to get my best results the entire weekend and helping my mental improve, and Curtis for being Skibidi.
Congrats to Curtis for his 3rd place finish (I’m so fucking proud of u), and Michael for winning.

4.70, (4.18), 4.55, (6.83), 5.18 = 4.81 PR Average This average was something I never would’ve expected. Going into this average, I had a really bad mindset. Debuting 7 Simul Flip in round 1 with terrible results and DNFing the first solve of round two having to check the back with a trash average make me really nervous for finals. Honestly not too upset about this. This is PR2, and the 0.95 was pretty great. The last solve I missed another solution that would have ultimately gotten me a Sub-Citrus average. Without the DNF, This would have ranked me: WR15 CR4 NR4 The E1 was because the judge didn’t call 12 and was trying to penalize me for overinspecting The other incident I got the same scramble

This has been a mental barrier of mine for so long, after Cape Cod, where I beat my average by over a second, and made it nearly impossible to beat it once again. However, after 8 months, I have achieved my Skewb PR Average! Done at Winchester Wind Down 2023 Cube: Gan Enhanced UV Times: (4.91), 3.56, 3.41, 3.88, (2.83) = 3.62

Thanks, I’m using the Gan 251M Pro with the cubicles prototype fz glide I think is what it’s called (the purple one) along with dnm and a bit of weight 5. The tensions are the standard green 0.6

Me and Justin were freaking out watching the stream, it was incredible when we realized you (and Curtis) podiumed AT NAC! Especially after so many lock ups and fails out of good averages. Can’t wait to see you get more insane results.

Way back at the start of the year when you told me you wanted to podium at NAC, I knew you could do it but thought you were crazy for setting such a high goal. Throughout this year as NAC approached, your terrible streak of comp nerves made me think you might not have been able to get it. But after your PR average in round 1, FINALLY beating the 1.34, I realized you actually had a good chance. I was literally shaking so hard while watching you during finals, and when we found out you and Curtis podiumed it was by far the best moment of the comp. So happy you were able to pull this off, and here’s to many more insane achievements!

@@CharlieHandley-w1n counting were (1.2+0.04) (1.2+0.05) and (1.2+0.12) so the avg was 1.2 + 0.07 or 1.27
