Mazda Fe3 VICS Intake and Camshaft Identification
Here I'm showing a FE3 VICS Intake from a 97 GV Capella, Explaining how I understand VICS to work and how to identify the cams.
I also discuss differences between this engine and the Kia aswell as changes I will need to make.

Mazda B2200 Engine Swap Kia FE3 Bolt ons and Accessories

Discussing similarities between my stock Ford Courier(B2200) motor and the Kia Sportage FE3. In this video I cover Coolant Roughting, Alternator, Power Steering, Exhaust, Engine Mounts, Flywheel and Clutch.
So has anyone had head ported and polished or any performance mods like an engine build? My Mazda b2000 has no power steering .
is there anyway to run these off a carb?
Well you could definitely do that, But you will see better drivability and power on efi.
@@fe3wiki466 definitely, just thinking for trucks that were carb, I assumed it would be easier than throwing together the EFI
Great explanation. Thanks heaps
Hi there My question is fe3 motor fits my Mazda B2600i 4x4
If it's a Mazda box yes, no idea if it clears the transfer case.
@@fe3wiki466 Appreciate it you so much for your help thank you but it does for the B2600 right
Can you clarify the clutch parts again? Throw out bearing, pressure plate, clutch disc and fly wheel can all be Kia?
Okay so Friction disc must match your spline on your gearbox, so will either be 7/8" ot 1"(bell housing is removeable like mine) mazda/ford shaft depending on box. Check its OD will fit to the friction area of your clutch. Mine was 225mm so needed B2200/B2600i friction fisc. Pressure plate must be the one that matches the flywheel. Unless you want to mess with thicknesses, offsets, and redrilling the plate to match the flywheel. Release bearing can be either as they are identical as far as i could tell. Fork is the one that matches your box and slave. Pilot bearing in my case was stock manual kia as they both were the same. I used a full kia sportage manual kit + flywheel, and swapped only the friction disc to match my gearbox.
@@fe3wiki466 Much appreciated thank you. Just want to make sure and order the right parts. 🙌
@@Techmech2 just check the splines on your gearbox, i didnt realise that b2200/b2600i box is bigger
Hey bro appreciate you taking your time to make this video good question would the Kia Sportage matches up with the Mazda b22 f2 cylinder head
No, there completely different. Its the head of the fe3 that makes it special. It has above average flow compared to other 2 litre engines. I have seen a fe3 head put onto a 2.2 Block but it was a very very expensive excersize and didnt end up working all that great.
did you have to use the Kia fuse box to work the engine.
Nope, made a new loom from scratch because old looms are not reliable.
@@fe3wiki466 I have the engine and harness from the 2001 model and I'm wanting know how to wire this thing. Mazdatrucking is down so I have no way to get it done now. also what goes in that hole in the back of the valve cover
@@mosesandrews4381 my website FE3.wiki has the diagrams you need to wire it all up. The back of the rocker cover is the cam position sensor. I can sell you one of my spares if you want.
@@fe3wiki466 this is a whole back there, I seen it when I was cleaning back there. i have remove an cleaned and sealed the crank sensor already seem like oil was leaking from that region. apart from that there really is some kind of hole in the valve cover, it looks like a hose is suppose to go back there.

thanks for the info, mate
Swap is in, not happy with any ecu option so boosting it with a speeduino atm. Waiting on loom plugs from china.
If you want to add better brakes to slow your B2200 down after adding all that power, and convert to 5 lug Ford bolt pattern for better aftermarket wheel/tire options Check these out!: ua-cam.com/video/v1km0CEYdGc/v-deo.html
If you are after an alternator that makes even more amps and should bolt in with little modifications one from a Chevy ls motor will work just have to wire it up correctly and slot the adjustment bracket.
Have you finished the swap?
Not yet, just got the engine into the car this weekend.
Did the starter fit
@@williamgilbert9500 yeh the Kia starter fits fine. I've just moved house and building my new garage so it's on hold for about another month.
@@fe3wiki466 what year engine did you use from the Kia, I'm thinking about putting a 2000 t0 2001 in my b2200
@@mosesandrews4381 mine was a 96 allegedly, but it's running 98 electrics including knock sensor with the Hyundai Tiburon Beta 1 ecu. I have both a 1.8 and 2 litre ecu to try out.
