Legendary Octogenarian Percussionist Yoshisaburo "Sabu" Toyozumi meets Masashi Harada at Masashi `s studio in Kure, Hiroshima. We hang out and recorded for three days in various combinations. Sabu was the only non American member of AACM and performed with so many luminaries of improvisation, his latest album is a duo recording with Derek Bailey. Masashi Harada has recording with Cecil Taylor, Joe Maneri, Mat Maneri, Barre Phillips, Malcolm Goldstein. and his own large ensemble called Condanction.(conducting dance improvisation)

Hi Mr. Harada, sorry if i contact you here, i couldn’t find other ways to talk to you or your family. As a start i would like to say that i love this 4 part collaboration with master Sabu, it is something new and refreshing to listen to for me, it feels like something that came from a very deep place in someone’s soul and i love to hear it from time to time I am the nephew of an ex-colleague of your father, my grandpa remembers when the two of them used to work in Pavia and when your father accompanied my grandparents to the hospital because my mother was about to be born, we still have the analog camera your father gifted to them! I borrowed it for my photography exam at the academy! A couple of weeks ago my grandpa was reminiscing about his years in Pavia when he brought up your father as a friend of his, and i thought that maybe it would be possible to reconnect them trough the power of the internet, my grandpa would surely like to! Do you think that it could be possible to set up a video call of some kind? Would you and your family be open and/or available to it?
I am flabbergasted to hear about my father Pavia year. He is 93 years old and still working as a medical doctor. Are you related to Dr. Cherbino?
