Michelle (or anyone local to Yarmouth) if you’re travelling on Main Street on Harbour side, I recall there was a commercial space that had a glass window with an etching with reference to the name Effie or Effie’s and I would really love to have photos if anyone has access to these photos of the building and that historical business that the business belonged to a a family member back in the day and I’m beginning to research but don’t have access to the neighbourhood at present. If I’m correct, she was one of the first females to have their own business during that time period. It’s my understanding that it had been a restaurant.

The horse fountain at Milton corner in Yarmouth has a sister fountain on the south end at the red and white intersection Some of my ancestors are the Killam family & Sealed Landers & many other prominent families that were considered a founding families

Michelle, your husband‘s family. I don’t know his surname but they’re home. Was that on Argyle Street? It looks familiar…… has been quite a while since I’ve been in Yarmouth…. A dear cousin of mine lived on Argyle, but passed away in 2015 & the home was at that time owned by someone else…… I’m an Ontario baby also but my roots are in Nova Scotia!!

Merry Christmas to you and Family! I love Cream Soda too. Stacey; make yourself a Cherry Soda that i make to remind me of childhood back in the 40’s. Use a tall glass, add 1 or 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, gently pour in the cream soda , stir a bit with your straw and ENJOY! Tell me if you have done this before.

Thank you Michelle and Gerald. Your video triggers our memories of Christmas past as well as gives us a glimpse of some of your special Christmas moments. Thank-you. I believe my Mother read Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" every year since she was a teen ager. That would have been about 80 times I expect! As for the movies, you can't beat the 1951 Alastair Sim version (IMHO). This year, we showed our Michael the Patrick Stewart (yes, he of "Star Trek : The Next Generation" fame) version. It strays a bit more from the original story, but still stays true to Dickens' theme, and I think it might be my second favourite version. Cheers & HAPPY NEW YEAR from D&D&M

Thanks Michelle. Boxing Day/Week sales is also the time when all the people who received gift cards in their stockings shop for discounted presents...while others stock up on supplies for next year. It is a great time to buy chocolate treats and stocking stuffers too.

I havint been to the stores on boxing day in many years , too busy for me I find but it's a great way to save on lots of holiday items for next year, i may go take a browse next week I want a pencil tree for my kitchen for next year as my little tree i had in there this year the lights burnt out , happy New year 🎉

I went to the Mall on the 27th and it was insane. It's been years since there were that many people out for Boxing Day sales. I got great sales at Winners. The wrapping paper was half off and the rolls were big and so pretty. I also got 4 tops at about 70 percent off. Great deals. Happy New Year Michelle to you and your family.

They carry much of the same products as Costco. There is no membership required as Costco but items are more expensive. It does help if you don’t have a Costco close to where you live!

Everything looked delicious especially that home made gravy!!!. I made a tourtiere as a gift to a friend (her son was visiting form NB) and other things to take to friends including an asini de pepe fruit salad (your apple salad looked great) ....Your dinner looked so yummy I was imagining it here Michelle...May God grant you a beauiful and peaceful 2025. xoxoCC and Grant
