I like anything at least 1/2oz or heavier. whether that'd be a compact or full-size spinnerbait, anything 1/2oz and larger resist blow our at high speeds. The only time I throw a 3/8oz or less is when the spinnerbait needs to be REALLY small and I'm slow rolling it but at that point, I just throw an underspin or something. Hope this helps!

@@CXANGLING How did you go about cutting down the shaft? is it as simple as removing the wires and sawing through it? How is the weight? From the forums and such it looks like the terrova is upwards of 70lbs?!

Sorry for the extremely late reply but these are 10 inch screens (Garmin 106sv) I always take them off whenever I am driving. The bail mount is mounted permanently but the screens can come off and be stored.

@@japapelili honestly, no....BUT I do want to buy a Bass Boat and have both. I just enjoy the Kayak tournaments so much.

@@egregiousblunder5395 unfortunately that is true. Most of the areas are either a crazy long walk/hike or offshore a ways. But with that being said, I highly recommend giving these lakes a shot even from the accessible areas!

Hey Ron! Sorry for the late reply! The white thing on my dropshot hook is a bait keeper. I use a steel wire for the keeper and tie it on with some thread. it helps keep the plastics from slipping when they hit the water or after getting nibbled

Since then I have luckily added more rod holders. That couldve been bad haha. That NRX 822DSR is probably my favorite rod too 😅

@@mkfishing4458 you aint wrong but to each their own. You dont necessarily have to have ALL of this to get out on the water. You can make it as simple or as complex as youd like. In CO we dont have many large bodies of water to utilize a boat. The closest on to me is still 50 minutes away and I cant justify a boat. Along with that a lot places are electric-only lakes. Dont get me wrong though, I am definitely eyeing a Boat and a simple Hobie Lynx in the future! Tightlines man!

@@GeorgiaKayakAngler i will agree that their quality control isn't the greatest but I highly doubt they'll be out if business in two years. However it is unfortunate that for the price of this kayak, others have experienced issues that should never happen.

@2216sammy I'd have to disagree, ive never had an issue with the hull being too "thin" anywhere. The kayak has been through pretty much anything you can put a kayak through. Can you elaborate on what abuse you're talking about? Just my two cents.

I agree! I've been fishing in a PA12 180 for 6 yrs, 5 days a week from May to Oct here in Ontario, Canada 🍁. While your range is limited in a pedal kayak that's more than compensated for by being so darn stealthy! I'm convinced Hobie's Mirage drive is the quietest, least intrusive way to fish, better than electric motors and much quieter than paddling.

I couldnt agree more! The 180 is crazy reliable! I actually would love to get another one but with the 180 drive!

@@dlmsarge8329absolutely! There are so many times that a quiet motor has helped me catch fish, you'll probably see it in my next videos! But stealth can be so key to getting more bites!

I havent but a few of the other competitors have during tournaments. There arent many and they're hard to find/catch but they're still in there! I would bank on a different lake for wipers though.

@@WayneFromWalmart No worries at all! I probably only use it about 20-30% of the time on the water now. one of the fishing tournament series didnt allow motors at first but now they do. Tightlines man!

@@brandygrandon8101 Thank you! It is the KVD Fish Sticks Scent. This one specifically is the crawfish version. The chapstick/wax versions tend to last longer and the nice thing is that they work with hard baits too!
