First OpenIPC Runcam Wifi Link Test

My first time flying the RunCam Wifi Link Open IPC camera/VTX.
What bitrate did you change to? Also are you using a radxa or a different sbc for your receiver?
Need to mount higher not seeing much other than front
Quick question: Can i put the Antenna on my roof or somewere high and relay the signal down to me ? For extra Range without trees in the Way ?
50ft hdmi cable?
@@Br1ckInTh3W4LL That wasnt the Question.
I just noticed youre not a regular UA-camr and only uploaded to inform about this Project. Thank you so much for that effort❤ Im really curios, please keep us updated, especially about other Settings \ Antennas. Im new to the hobby with low budget and cant wait to get my first digital fpv this way.😊
I tried looking for those iflight sigma antennas are these 5.8ghz?
@@Takeover738 yes. I got mine on Amazon
I don't own these Box goggles, but I've heard that the HDMI connection on them introduceses a lot of additional latency (compared to when connecting to the HDMI on Fatsharks, Orqas,HDZero goodles)
@@ChrisGripeos the cobras do have a bit of added latency on the hdmi input compared to other goggles.
Have you had a chance to play further?
and this is just some beta software and hardware
Fantastic! Keep it on! I am looking the EMAX hardware as well. BTW. I think your prop is seriously unbalanced or even the motor shaft bent, it should not be AS MUCH jellyous.
@@k0r0e0s I think it’s because the camera was held on by a rubber band haha. It’s permanently mounted now in a new nose I designed for the dart.
Very interesting! Keep testing! I wonder if the devs will invent some ways to avoid frame dropping in exchange of lowering the resolution/quality. Is this is even possible with this technology?
Not right now, since they dont talk back.
2.5 klm with stock runcam unit , phone and wifi module sitting on hood of truck wit tree line 100yards in front
Quite a few people on the telegram suggest having 2 wifi cards attached to your radxa for better consistency and switching out the rtl8812au for rtl8812eu -apparently it has better performance, i havent tried it myself since im still building the basic vrx module but it seems like a worth while endevour. Also i could be super wrong but i could have sworn on the specs of the radxa 3E is worse than the 3W , the 3E's advantage was the gigabit ethernet port. Also if your only flying rc planes and you dont mind alittle bit extra latency try using the ruby image on your vrx module , ruby supports retransmition i believe so it again should enhance the consistency issue you have been facing . Thanks for the video though i understand how much of a time sink openIPC can be
15 views.... wtf, are people not getting it???? Fantastic job, even at lower bit rate I can't see the loss of detail, looks great.
Sorry i'm late 🙂
Switching between H264/H265 may solve the problem of frame loss.
The WiFiLink experience should be a bit better if the code uses H265, the antennas are not crossed and are up as far as possible. 😊
The antennas are to be mounted up in the air your killing the signal
They aren't in the thumbnail, but they are during the flight. I made little slots to pinch them between the hatch and the fuselage. I flew again with nicer antennas and a higher bitrate and it worked much better.
@owen_is_on_the_internet what antennas your using now
@@jimmytheriot8978 iFlight Sigma
Nice testing. I am still waiting for mine to be in the mailbox. Which VRX module do you have?
@@jhulztahanlangit I have the Radxa. So far it looks like the WiFi modules you use affect the range, but the processing power of the VRX affects the latency.
@@owen_is_on_the_internet Is Radxa by far the best VRX to be paired with it?
Very cool
One way transmission is really disapointed.
Fantastic insights!
