Hello fellow gardening gals and guys! Welcome to my channel, Serenity Now Garden. My name is Jeanie and I make videos of my gardens, current landscaping projects, plant hauls, serene garden tours, garden ASMR, gardening tips, gardening how to videos and more. I mainly focus on ornamental gardening using perennials, but I also plant bulbs, annuals, cold hardy succulents, shrubs, and trees. I will be diving into raised bed vegetable gardening, indoor seed starting, and planting a small orchard in the near future too! I live in central Minnesota in USDA gardening zone 4. Join me as I expand my gardens and create new garden designs. My favorite part of gardening is creating garden rooms and secret gardens. Gardening is such a rewarding hobby to have. You can visit my garden blog at www.serenitynowgarden.com. I have been gardening for over 20 years and I still have a lot to learn. Come along for the ride and hopefully we can learn from each other. Thank you and happy gardening!

Love, love the tours. Keep them coming. Thank you so much for sharing your vision with us. So creative.
I can recommend 'Blushing Blue', 'Sugar Plum', 'Bloodline', 'Hans' and 'Paul Revere'. Just some of my favs
Thanks, I did add Hans to my collection this year, love it. I have to check out the rest! 😊
Looks lovely, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Your garden looks great and still has lots of color for this time of the year. Bonny
Thanks Bonny ☺️
Another beautiful video!
Thanks so much! 😊
Your little green and white hosta that was there is Hosta undulata albo mediovariegata. It literally means undulated hosta with a white middle in Latin.
Thanks 😊
Once again, magnificent! Thanks for sharing your beautiful oasis :)
Thanks so much, Scott 😊
I love alliums for the bees but the foliage is so unsightly 😩
I love the foliage on the millennium alliums. It stays dark green all season long and looks like an ornamental grass. My bulb alliums foliage fades fast, but I just trim it off. 🙂
@serenitynowgarden3618 I love the color but not their form. It drives me crazy when some of the stems splay out and lay flat on the ground.
I love it. We all have different tastes. Thanks for watching ❤️
Beautiful
You've added some great new additions to your garden! Bonny
Thanks 😊
I wished we lived closer so we could do a plant exchange. I have what's called Ohio Spider Wort that I bought several years ago at a native plant sale. I like how it can be divided and fills in quite well in our yard, Do more videos of you planting stuff! They're fun :)
Thank you for the tour around your hosta garden! Dancing Queen is awesome! And Blue Angel! And all the hostas!
Oh yes, the dancing queen is such a bright gold hosta, I love it. And blue angle never gets any slug damage and the pollinators really love the flowers. Thanks for watching 😊
What a beautiful garden! Thank you so much! Breeze Island is the hosta of the year. I am looking for it but in our region I have not found it yet.
Oh is it? I love that one! Thanks so much 😊
Awesome new ink on the arms! Love the designs
Thank you 😊
I’ve just started over the last year working on growing my own hosta collection!💚 But here in Maine we are typically very rainy and humid during our spring and summer, which means our hostas are always guaranteed to have at least one or two slugs munching away 😅 Thank you for some great hosta inspiration as I make my fall shopping list! ❤
Thanks so much ❤️
Beautiful, Jeanie!! ❤❤❤
Thanks ❤️
Well done as usual, I love the variety of Hosta you have especially the Krossa Regal! I just planted one of those this year, love the vase like shape.
I love the vase shaped too! Always looking for more.🙂 Thanks for watching
How lovely! Thank you for taking us on a tour! ❤
Thank you for watching ❤️
mosquito bits work great for helping me control mosquitos in my garden as well as containers
I have a ton of standing water in back from the flooding in June. It is a large wetland area. Hopefully it dries up soon. Thanks for the tip. 🙂
Lovely collection of hostas.
Thank you ❤️
Beautiful, thanks for sharing! I also have a 'Captain Kirk' that isn't. 😊 It's just green, like yours. I don't remember if I got it at Walmart, or Menards...there must have been a mix-up at the supplier, or something. 😅
Oh, how funny. I actually have 2 that were labeled as captain Kirk that aren't. Yep, I bet there was a mix up at the supplier. Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for sharing your hostas. The newer mulch really contrasts well with them. How much time do you dedicate a week on working in your yard? I think we average like 2 hours each day. Your yard is way bigger...and growing, so it has to be more :) When all the work is done, it is so nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Hi Scott! Well, I guess it depends on the weather and how many projects I have going... I am probably working in my garden every other day. Sometimes just for 30 minutes during the week and a few hours on the weekends. I try to focus on one area a week to weed and tidy up.
That thumbnail looks like you're wearing a hosta ball gown.
Love your tall astilbe!
Thank you!!!
Everything looks great and your astilbe are amazing! What brand of deer/rabbit spray do you use and how often? The rabbits this year are terrible in my yard...
Thank you so much 😊 I use liquid fence. I get the concentrate and mix it in a 2 gallon sprayer, that makes it easier. It smells really bad until it dries. The instructions say to spray weekly twice, then every 30 days after that. It is supposed to work even after a rain. But I have been using it more often just in case, maybe every 2-3 weeks.
@@serenitynowgarden3618 Thank you!
The new arbor is a great new addition. We have an arbor from our wedding that we have moved around the yard over the years. We've talked about trying climbing rose bushes in its new location. As always, everything looks beautiful. Thanks for another video and sharing all your creative work!
Thanks so much, Scott. 😊 Climbing roses would be a great choice.
I am hoping very soon for a dry spell. The mosquitoes are horrible. Your gardens look amazing and love all your astilbes and hostas. Hostas are my favorite and finally my astilbes are looking good with all the rain this year. I am going to look for Mighty Pip. Thanks for sharing
Thanks! Your garden is looking great despite all the rain. I was thinking about you and how much rain you were getting too. Glad to see everything is drying out. Fingers crossed for a nice dry spell 🤞
You have a beautiful garden!
Thank you so much 😊
Very pretty garden! Love your astilbes and Veronica plants! new subscriber here!
Thanks so much, Linda! 😊
Your garden is so beautiful!! ❤
Thank you! 😊 So is yours!
I love those Astilbe. They look so healthy.
Thanks, they are loving the extra water too. 😊
Your grass looks really good.
Thank you 😊
Curious Where did you get your arbor in the front near your nine bark hedge? Thanks
I got that at Menards for only $100. It was a couple years ago . Lowes has a similar arbor too. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful looking garden, its the bees knees.
Thank you
We have flooding in the back yard about once a year in the spring. The hosta are fine as long as they can keep their tops above water.
Yes, my hosta are loving it right now too. Happy Gardening!
Sorry about the flooding :( It is frustrating after all that work and nurturing. We have been dealing with rabbits trying to munch on our zinnias.
Thanks, Scott :) It is frustrating. I am currently working on a raised bed garden design though, that will help next year. Can't wait to share it. What's up with all the rabbits this year, lol? Is it just me or are there like triple or quadruple the amount of rabbits compared to an average year?
Are you going to post a video of you planting the planter? I always enjoy those videos as well! They inspired me to do 2 planters by our front door this year and last year. This year we did all blue and white flowers in them.
Sorry, I didn't film it. Your planters sound gorgeous. I used Regal Shield Elephant Ear, Dichondra Silver Falls, New Guinea impatiens, and Perilla Magilla. So far this is my favorite planter I have done. :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@serenitynowgarden3618 The elephant ear is STUNNING to say the least
I have five Quick Fire and 3 Tiny Quick Fire Hydrangeas. I am trying to creat a hedge as well. 😊 I had bad luck with some of my Hostas this year due to vole or moles damaging the roots.
@@seriejohnson698 I've had the same issue with moles/voles damaging roots to my hostas.
We almost the same taste 😂 bkue, gold, purple...
Absolutely 💯love the gold color ...beautiful 💛
Beautiful looking garden, Its the bees knees.
Thanks for the tip regarding dead heading salvia. I tried it and within a few days new buds/blooms started to form. The pollinators say 'Thank you!'
You have a lovely garden. I would love to have that much area to plant, oh my the options!!!
Thank you ❤️
That Blue Mouse Ear hosta will grow quite a bit bigger than it is. I have mine on my deck in a round planter and this is it's best year yet!! I've probably had it now going on 5 years. I wish I could share the picture of it with you. Beautiful video! ♥️✌️
Thank you 😊
Enjoy your garden tours so much!
Thanks so much 😊
Everything looks BEAUTIFUL
Thank you 😊
Beautiful looking garden, Its the bees knees.
Thank you 😊
Love that verbascum! Bonny
Thanks, Bonny 😊
Can I ask how you do the voiceovers? What do you use to do it? I’m looking to try it myself one of these days
I have a Rode mic and a pre amp, although that's not really needed. I use davinci resolve software for the editing and add the voiceover track there. Thanks for watching.
So nice..thx for sharing
Thanks for visiting
❤❤❤❤your garden.looks stunning. How do you keep your grass neatly shaped?
Thank you! I use a half moon step edger twice a year. 😊
@@serenitynowgarden3618ohhh that looks amazing. ❤
