I'm from Pakistan, my country is not in the list of exemption. I want to do assessment for my Master’s Degree from NZQA. So, is it possible to apply Add-on to my Bachelor’s degree for Long Term Skill shortage and do assessment on my master’s degree? I paid 610$ Including Add-on charges. Because I want to claim 70 points for my academic qualification and 15 points for skill shortage. Please advise!

It's 2021 now, EOI to apply is on hold since March 2020. You cant get residency till 2023. Coz it takes more than two year to get residency from start till get approved.

Kiwis are generally fair in their outlook. I understand that you want quality migrants in NZ since they can add value to the country. I myself am a skilled migrant who came to NZ 20 years ago and am now a citizen for many years. However, the salary amounts NZIS have put down as required are unreal. Even existing citizens and residents often struggle to find jobs that pay NZD 23-25 from the get go! Unless you're a medical doctor. Since a large majority of salaries start from NZD 19-20, the expectations for others ought to be same, to be fair. Otherwise, it's creating an obstacle course for skilled people overseas wanting to come to NZ. For people who feel that NZ is already overridden by migrants let me say that before immigration started in earnest, NZ was more agrarian and less the industrialized nation it has developed into. That those very migrant talents have brought new blood to this beautiful country and working shoulder to shoulder with native people, have added to the Kiwiana culture and economic development. Housing can always be monitored and laws made to ensure it is fair and accessible to all. Again, housing crises exist in Auckland as opposed to other areas of NZ. Immigration does not destroy a country. But to get quality, you need to be fair in policies. There are many extremely talented qualified skilled people in other countries who would love to move to NZ but may find these unnatural salary demands a hurdle in making it. It takes extreme sacrifices for migrants and their families, to be able to even pay immigration fees. Often entire old age savings are given away by parents to see their children's future improve! If NZ really feels that further immigration is bad, please stop immigration altogether. No half measures, no false hopes, no deadly sacrifices!
