Rathkeale Youth Cafe: Irish Romanian Youth Exchange
Young people from Limerick Youth Service and the Romanian organisation, Curba de Cultura, took part in a camping trip as part of a bilateral youth exchange.
Titled 'Out & About' the youth exchange gives Irish and Romanian teenagers from rural communities an opportunity to experience each other cultures by spending time outdoors.
As part of the youth exchange, young people are capturing their experiences via camera- this is their story.
LYS is represented by young people from the Rathkeale Askeaton Youth Project of which the RK Youth Cafe is a part.
The youth exchange project is supported by Erasmus+ through Leargas.

Traveller Youth Mental Health Project

Young people, youth work and social care professionals, share their experiences of working on the Traveller Youth Mental Health Project. As part of the project, the young Travellers participated consultation sessions, took part in the CHIME mental health recovery programme and created a short film.

Very easy for you to say yes you grew in a different time but some things you did in your day weren't acceptable lm sure and not all parents are to blame and yes it's just not for the young people it's for all young old and people who are lonely

Maybe the kids really don't have enough community resources and that's why they're hanging around in groups. Maybe they should start up a music club where they can form bands together or as the garda was saying drama or dancing... I dunno, in my experience nothing good comes out of hanging around like that. Some of the people I hung around with like these kids are in the video are dead now from alcohol or drugs and I'm only 35....Life's too short do something constructive with it.
