Here is a haiku progression I wrote The Marksman A distant bell tolls, Leaves dance on the cool breeze’s path, A hushed pause settles. Silent moments stretch, Earth’s breath steady, unbroken- Wisdom in stillness.

First I watched Dynasty as a kid, then I fell in love with this house, then I dreamed of visit it someday and now you do probably the best preservation in the whole US for my favourite house. It's so brillant! The only thing that's odd is a vertical video on youtube... 😂 Thanks a lot guys. You do a fantastic job. 🙋‍♂️

In Response to the Staircase Question. The staircase shot was changed, not because of better camera shooting angle, but because of Western-Caucasian View of Classical Architecture. Generally.., We view staircases as needing to be on the right or to be centered, thus aligning with Palladian/Classical Architecture. Whereas in Eastern-Chinese-Asian Countries, the staircases are on the left to center left, or generally hidden from view because of Feng Shui. These views began to change around 1900, and the staircase at the Filoli House was placed on the left, more than likely because of entry angles making it necessary out of convenience. This is also True on how we view art, read and write. Whereas we read and look at things from left to right, ending the view with the focus on the right. Asian cultures are the opposite, they view from right to left, with their eyes focused on the left. This is why European Portraits generally have Left Profiles and Asian Portrait Profiles are on their Right. Kind of like Viewing Hokusai's The Great Wave Off of Kanagawa(1831). We look at it the painting and see the Great Wave First, and then Mt. Fuiji... but until it's pointed out, we don't see the men in boats rowing for their lives.

Dynasty began filming at Filoli in Spring 1980 with George Peppard as Blake and Shay Duffin as Joseph. After an actors strike, the cast and crew returned in the Fall of that year for re-shoots with John Forsythe replacing Peppard and Lee Bergere replacing Duffin. Other rooms seen in the pilot include the dining room (very different from the sets used for the rest of the series), the study (which served as the Carringtons music room) and the upstairs sitting room (where Krystle prepared for her wedding). Set designers copied the sitting room's fireplace mantle for the living room set. Filoli's kitchen originally had wooden cabinets which were later replaced with metal. The Carringtons kitchen had wooden cabinets. Set designers for the Michael Douglas film The Game restored the kitchen to its original appearance and installed the wooden cabinets that remain in place today. Enchanted Hill in Hollywood served as the estate for the first two seasons; this is where the garage was located and a facade was constructed for Alexis' studio. Several scenes were filmed by the pool at this location. Arden Villa in Pasadena was used for exterior scenes beginning in season three with faux brick panels covering the house's tan stucco exterior.

The first plant you show is not Chamomile (Matricara chamomilla), it's Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium). The flowers look the a lot like each other but Chamomile has different leaves than the plant you're showing.

Beautiful garden! We grow many of these plants back in Puerto Rico. My Moms arnica plant is huge, and I love all the awesome benefits it has. Over here in zone 7 we cannot grow many of these plants but there's others like elderberry that we can enjoy. Thanks for sharing all the awesome info and beautiful garden!
