    can Halliday's SFL be used as an analytical tool in textual analysis CDA? or DA?

    • @nicholassimpson518
      @nicholassimpson518 Місяць тому

      Yes. A transitivity analysis can be very useful in a CDA. Transitivity focuses on the processes at clause level which may tell you about the participants in the text.

      Hey @natadechacha - great question! SFL can most definitely be a powerful tool for textual analysis, especially in CDA and DA. And you're absolutely right, @nicholassimpson518, a transitivity analysis is an excellent way to examine how processes and participants are represented in a text. If either of you are currently working on any specific projects, we'd love to know. Feel free to share your ideas or experiences!

    How is functional grammer viewed as a systemic choice

    • @teachingandlearningcentral
      @teachingandlearningcentral Місяць тому

      Great question, @jacklinejackline4411! Functional grammar is viewed as "systemic choice" insofar as it emphasizes how language operates within a system of options to make meaning. It’s about understanding how different grammatical structures are chosen based on the context, purpose, and audience. If you’d like us to explore this topic further in a video, let us know-we’d be happy to dive deeper!

    One can see the effort you put in here and everything really looks like high quality. Unfortunately, I cannot watch it and concentrate on the actual information presented because the voice and music keep such a high tension all the time that one can hardly calm down and listen to the content. This video rather reminds me of a car commercial or movie teaser, so I expected all the time impressive pictures or video sequences to come. I would prefer to have this kind of music and voice modulation just in some parts of a mainly educational video to highlight very important aspects.

      @BineHerold, thank you so much for taking the time to share with us such detailed feedback. We really appreciate your honesty and the thought you put into your comment. This is our first go at creating engaging educational content.. so trust me when we say TLC values your honesty. It’s helpful to know how the music and voice modulation came across. We’ll definitely take your suggestions into account as we work on future videos- would you like us to create another video with this content or to create another video (taking your suggestions into consideration) that delves more into the content presented here?

    Judith Butler was 1 thought away from defending pedophiles, this is sick. She is a basic nihilist that uses "queer theory" to "dismantle" western society in her image. She is no God but eats from the fruit of the tree of good and evil.

      Thanks for the comment! The "body without organs" is definitely a complex concept from Deleuze and Guattari, which in our opinion represents a state of potential and openness beyond rigid structures or hierarchies. It’s about disrupting fixed systems to explore new possibilities for thought, desire, and becoming. It’s definitely not easy to explain in a short summary-would you like TLC to create a video dedicated solely to unpacking this idea? Let us know! 😊
