No need for a 8-minute video for this.

I've done this a lot, both in 1.0 and earlier releases (it's been around for so long that I'd be surprised if they ever change it at this point). Some notes from my experience: 0. Only works offline/single player. It might be possible that you could achieve it on a server if you were running the server and restarted it, but typically there's no way to do it online. 1. It doesn't require a fetch mission. Fetch missions are good for it because you can still do it even if you accidentally kill all the zeds, but any mission will do as long as you don't complete it before quitting out. 2. Following on from that, infestation missions are generally the best - I think. I haven't compared the infestation lootbox + T3 to raw T4 loot stash (I was testing through T4 infestations), but those infestation caches are fantastic. 3. You can have a swing through the POI before starting the mission for the first time, assuming you haven't been there before/recently. The POI will reset each time, including the first time. 4. You can and should salvage everything of note, even stuff you might want to use after the reset (ie. vending machines give forged steel), because - unsurprisingly - it'll all refresh when you start the mission. 5. From my experience, it'll be a long, long time before a trader offers you a mission at the same POI after you complete one there. So if there's a POI you want to 'save' for this method, don't pick it up until you're willing to pause doing missions with that trader so you can have permanent access to refreshing the POI. Some POIs I logged as being particularly good and worth potentially saving and never completing: * Bob's Boars - super corn, but primarily due to the stash being obtainable without killing anything (need to break some iron bars though), and providing access to a lot of spoiled meat, leather, nitrate and bones (as long as you can kill Grace, the irradiated boar, who'll respawn each reset) * Savage Country/Super Savage Country (good for leather/cloth/legendary parts) * Crack-A-Book/Crack-A-Cafe (books) * Hogzilla Ranch (in terms of the stash not as easy as Bob's Boars; in terms of killing Grace probably easier as you can build a zombie dropper outside the POI that won't respawn when you refresh the mission) * Grover High (a tier 5 - when you're on tier 5, or tier 6 infested missions, the stash is remarkably easy to get; the only caveat is that you'll aggro like 20 zombies when you break into the room containing it) * Greg's Motel (I really liked this tier 3; multiple spots that spawn books, a vending machine that's usually on, an ice box for snowballs, and even some clothing lootables for leather/cloth/legenary parts)

i dont get the point in this if you want unlimited loot just use the creative menu dont really see the point in playing the game that way but seems like a giant waste of time using and finding glitches when TFP give you the creative menu lol

I figured this one out a week ago. Just exit the game before finishing a mission will reset the mission. It is best at a Crack-a-Book as all the books are right out front. You just kill about 3-5 zombies, clear out the books in the front room, exit and reload, and start the mission over.. You can also memorize where the end loot is and find a shortcut.

It's not a glitch, you're just resetting the POI over and over prior to completing it... No different that looting the POI prior to starting the quest, then it resets when you start it and you loot it again... but you have to clear all the mobs every time, so it's not like you're getting unlimited "free" loot...

@lightning_gaming-tips Does this also work with the vending machines that you can buy and place down at your base, or is it just for the vending machines found at the trader?

I don't see the blocks between the pit and the floor of the floating base. I think you really need to explain how you got rid of them or what you did with those blocks in between. That'd be helpful.

the zombies do tend to attack the invisible blocks...and when those break, it will be tough to know which one needs replacing

Could be more interesting if you dug it out to start deeper Then added some steel blocks before refilling w/ dirt

ive done this during a hoard and they somehow knew where to swing so some of my blocks were reveled so not sure what happened

This isn’t technically floating all you did was create a visual glitch where it appears to be

I am host but didn’t work that it’s patched.

It's not perfect against demos, I've had a demo explosion take out one of the "invisible" blocks.

I wouldn't say it's broken, it's kind of a needed item in late and end-game. It gives no damage and the armor is on par with a medium legendary/epic level gear. I use that helm but I sacrifice my damage helm, on a strength build it's actually a step down compared to what I usually use. It's a purely utility piece of equipment, without that helm and the shields with similar functions farming those areas would forever be a pain. Especially since Obsidian and Black Ice tend to give a lot of exp, I like to farm those areas to level up on new servers and play through's. There's also the fact that the Red-Mother drops it, she's not a boss you can fight early game or even mid-game, if any other boss dropped it I'd say it's broken but as it stands it makes sense to me.

its important if ur doing this method to not learn the books. once u learn 15 of them the lockpicking point that increases ur chance at finding them stops working. its a hard cap the devs put in the game to make it take longer to find them. if u learn 14 and stack up the rest ur fine. as soon as u learn 15 of the forge ahead books ur SOL and it will take u a far longer time to find them

How does this work when you start dealing with demos and cops… higher tier zombies etc…

Hate that loot bags despawn so fast can't collect them unless you build like this or do a bag drop hord base

If you spam press C (on pc) you can make the motorcycle and other bikes do wheelies or bounce up. That should help get into the container
