The shadow is the part of yourself that you keep hidden and outside of your conscious attention. Exploring the shadow and integrating the shadow into your "self" helps your light shine brighter in your day to day life. Your light is the parts of you that are seen celebrated and encouraged. The shadow is the hidden, shamed, discouraged and disgraced parts of you. Your shadow is still you. And the more you explore your own shadow consciously, the better you can integrate those parts of yourself into a whole being.
