This is bullshit, the cartridge doesn't just come out
Thank you…. Edit: actually, good luck with that. Cheap garbage American Standard cost cutting and price gouging. It’ll break when you try any of this. Just get a new fill tube.
Where do I get the replacements? Anyone?
Thank you. This helped
I can’t find this cartridge anywhere just finding a bunch of 8104- 06 no 8100 at all. Can the others work on a 8100?
Worked great, thanks
Just a heads up. The o ring can move around when you put in the cartridge. I was getting leaks but wasn't sure where till I watched the tank fill. Took a few tries but finally, no leaks.
Wish I could like this more than once. So valuable, keep referring back to it

Great video - thank you. Credits rolling at the end are pure gold
Thank you for your video! Fix my problem!!
Thanks, I was able to fix my issue.
Worked like a charm
are the zip ties required? I cut them before RTFM. Thanks.
I couldn't get the filter to budge even with a very long nosed needle nose pliers. Tried turning right and left but no movement up down sideways. Any suggestions.
Contact info for parts
Got a link to purchase the part for the handle assembly replacement?
So informative, while leaving everyone in the dark at the same time
How about when the plastic piece on the bottom of the filter breaks?
Thank you! This worked perfectly.

This is the best video I searched for the whole morning with a hissing toilet. Very informative and clear step by step instructions. Much appreciated! If you have a Gerber 28-990 and WDI flush valve, this is the video!!!
Thank you for sharing. Saved time and money. Very informative.
Super helpful! Thanks for making this so clear.
You are my hero! My toilet sounded like a fog horn after every flush and I was calling a plumber tomorrow. Thought I’d give UA-cam University a try and found your video. Worked like a charm and stopped the fog horn!! The fill valve leaks a little so instead of calling a plumber, I’m on the hunt for replacement parts for the valve. Thank you so very much!!
Thank you so much for sharing this video, you saved me 150$ for a plumber. I did not find any debris while cleaning the parts but just followed the steps exactly and it fixed the Fill valve issue.
Thank you so much for this video. The step by step was easy enough for even me (woman) to do it. Yay!!
it works! but this valve is too complex TBH
Excellent!!! It worked, saved me time and money.
Sir this has fixed my overflowing valve issue. Thanks Great video!!
Super informative video - helped me fix my leaking fill valve! Thanks so much!
My WDI fill valve looks almost like this. The gasket and o-ring is similar if not the same. The video helps alot in taking it apart. However mine is stll leaking after multiple clean and reassembly. What else can I do? There is no retailer in my country selling replacement gasket and o-ring.
Or just pay the $15 for a new one, your done in 10 minutes with half the time invested. If it needs to be taken totally apart it probably needs replacing anyway.
Boooo that’s not the point. I enjoyed this video and learned about this fill value. Fixing things is satisfying
Did not expect this to work. Had already made plans to replace the whole float. Put it back together and wow 🤩! Thanks Sir
I hope cleaning the seal works, mine wasn't even dirty. But the video was spot on to take the whole WDI toilet apart. And I've NEVER done any toilet work before.
Thanks! Been trying to find this valve to figure out how to open it!
Great video, thanks very much. Any idea where I can order a new 0-ring?
This was really helpful thank you so much
Worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing. Saved me time and hassle of replacing. So appreciative of guys like you for putting this content out there. Makes the modern world an easier and better place in which to live
Thanks for making this video… exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you for the video and a good demonstration. Two questions for you. Where i can obtain the tool, and what is the model number for the cartridge? Please.
I came for the info but wasn't expecting that credits jam 🎶👏👏
It really works
1:15 The similar valve model I'm having came with a lock that stop water floater distributor from turning, hence took me a while to try and fail to find out that lock, removed it, then easily turned to remove the distributor as described. Only if this video has the exact same model, only if.
Thank you but I think I broke the floater when trying to turn the distributor cap. Maybe it's been so long and stuck by all the mineral built up. Luckily the floater seems to work still, cross my fingers. But I gave up trying remove the cap again unless I have replacement part available just in case.
Appreciate the video! I have a WDI B38x fill valve. How do I remove the blue cap? I'm afraid I might break it if I used brute force. Is there a lock underneath?
Thanks that helped me!
Thanks! Great vid! Explains how to clean valve perfectly!
THANK YOU! This is the video I was looking for. Awesome.
It was $$ Saver & ended the toilet tank moaning! 5 - STARS *****
