Some years back, in Sivagami Pethachi auditorium there was a documentary on the great master called mrudangamaargadarshi. I dont think its available on youtube. Is it available for the general public in any other way?

A good initiative thinking current day situations. Also as a note, to preserve one’s culture starts from preserving mother-tongue. It will be much more apt to see musicians like Ranjani-Gayathri to talk in Tamil in relevant forums.

Hope this initiative propels many musicians and Rasikas throughout india and abroad to reject this yearsnMusic Academy music session till the adharmic persons are driven out of the bhakthiless, Carnatic music….we all know who they are…

Must have been a lovely memory for all involved. Despite his young age, Ramprasad's immense talent is very apparent. Also the great Umayalpuram Sivaraman has stopped aging since about mid-nineties. He looks the same in 2018.

ஆல் இண்டியா வானொலி நிலையம் மூலமாக கர்நாடக சங்கீதம் பரவலாக கற்பிக்கப்பட்டது. சினிமா பாடல்கள் அதிக அளவு ஒலித்தது ம் அதே காலகட்டத்தில். சினிமா பாடல்களில் வசன நடை ராகம் அமைத்து ஒரே பீச்சில் பாடி பிரபலமானது. கேட்பவர்கள் நுனி நாக்கில் தவழ்ந்து பிரபலமானது. அதைபாடுவதற்கு கேள்வி ஞான மட்டுமே தேவை. ஆனால் கர்நாடக சங்கீதம் பல வருடங்கள் உடலை வருத்தி குரல் வலையை நெருக்கி அலை ஓசையை குடியிருந்து நெடிலுக்கு போய் மூச்சை அடக்கி மத்திமம் வந்து மூச்சை சீராக வைத்து பிறகு கீழ் சுருதி க்கு கொண்டு வரவேண்டும். அப்படி அப்யாசம் செய்தவர்கள் சபை மூலமாக ரசிகர் மத்தியில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டார் கள். ஊருக்கு ஒரு வித்வான் உருவாகி வந்தனர். பாடும் திறமையில் தார்மீக அடிப்படையில் போட்டா போட்டி ஆரோக்கியமாக ரசிகர்களால் ரசிக்க முடிந்தது. சபை நடத்துபவர்கள் தங்கள் சபை அபிவிருத்திக்காக இசையை விலை பேசி ரசிகரிடையே பேதத்தை உருவாக்கி கர்நாடக இசையை கேலி கூத்தாக்கி அதற்கு ஒரு வேலி போட்டு பாதுகாக்கும் நிலைக்கு தள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளதே இந்த நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு மூல காரணம். அதர்ம வழியில் புகழைத்தேடுபவர்களுக்கு இது பாடமாக அமையும் என்பது உறுதி. பாராட்டுகள் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி யை முன் நின்று நடத்துபவர் களுக்கு.

I saw the video, in fact waiting for it ever since the news of such epoch making steps to hold the culture of the Country. At 81-82 my heart is all out to stand by the pledge on my behalf and that of my family and generation to come. It is gratifying to note the orderliness of the events ,in absolute harmony with the spirit of the Carnatic music, the poem of worldly life. Congratulations to all!
