I've been eyeing these for a couple of years now. One of my local reptile shops breeds them sometimes. On paper they seem amazing. Plus I already just love African reptiles in general. Id love to get into Angolan pythons too at some point. There are just too many cool snakes out there though lol. Its so hard to rationalize not getting more snakes. I already make regular rodentpro orders and have a large deepfreezer full of rabbits and large rats. I could easily fit a years worth of mice for a small snake like a house snake without taking up hardly any of my freezer space at all. Plus i told my 5 year old daughter she could have a snake of her own soon, and still havent gotten her one yet. So really, in a way, it would be stupid not to get a house snake right? lol.

I have this exact morph and man, do I love just sitting and staring at her!

What have you been told to do for keeping reptiles that was just not good advice?

Thank you for this video. My first snake was an Albino Ball Python, born without eyes. He came from a man I worked with, so I knew how to take care of him. He lived with me for 24 great years. I still keep Ball Pythons in my Snake family of large and small snakes. I hope new keepers use your channel for a reference to give their snakes great care. Each snake does have their own personality and they are NOT boring. All my snake come out for attention and snake enrichment. One of my older male Ball Pythons, who had been a breeder, will not eat during breeding season. I have never fed my snakes in a different container. I always give my snakes up to 48 hours to digest. All heat mats should be used with a Jump Start thermostat and temperature of the mat checked often. I have he a couple over heat and have replaced them asap. Never use a heat rock. My snakes have a rock to rub to help shedding. Humidity needs for Ball Pythons is 50 to 66 percent which can be achieved with a large water bowl.

How are you achieving 99% humidity in it when incubating ball python eggs ?

accurate and informative vid. i had to reintroduce my pair of tokays about 3 times until the male realized it was a female. i think it is best to introduce them in neutral territory

I love you guys making videos of the good old diy projects for the hobby. I’ve made many like this over 10 years. I used a “chicken egg incubator” thermostat on Amazon and an old bar fridge. Holds 10- 6 qt.
