Austin City Limits has been on the air since 1974, but it really started to change in season four. With new producer Terry Lickona at the helm, the show began to feature artists from outside of Texas in 1979. The biggest names from the 70s, such as Tom Waits and Taj Mahal, were invited to play, and they brought their unique styles and sounds with them. It was a pivotal moment for the show, and it helped to make ACL the staple of American music TV that it is today. In 1979, Willie Nelson made his acting debut in the film The Electric Horseman, starring alongside Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Some notable deaths that year include Charles Mingus, John Wayne, and James Underwood Crockett. I remember that year well. It's interesting to watch a movie from 1979 now and see how much the world has changed. Do you have any fun memories from the year 1979? The music that year in 1979 when Cat Stevens retired from the music business, Sony introduced the Walkman portable cassette player, and The Village People sued over the catchy ditty “Y.M.C.A.” was great. 1979 was a year of change and evolution in the music industry. The year brought the introduction of new technology like the Walkman, the retirement of one of the most popular musicians of the time, and a legal battle over one of the most recognizable songs of the era.👍

I always thought Perez sucked at refereeing ! My first problem with him was during the second Ali/Frazier fight in the second round , when Ali started pouring it on Frazier. Frazier looked like he was about to be TKO’ed , then here comes Perez, thinking he heard the bell ring when in actuality they had about 15 more seconds left to fight. I really believed that night he saved Frazier’s ass. Then came Ali/Wepner. Perez allowed Wepner to pound on the back of Ali’s head all night long, which in boxing are called rabbit punches and are illegal. When Ali retaliated and started throwing those same rabbit shots , he jumps right in and warns Ali to stop or get penalized. Was Perez anti-Ali ? Hmmm, sure seems like it.

As good as Rooney was for Mike, there’s one thing he never got Mike to do, and that’s to stop putting his hands behind the opponents backs and give them a free ride. They were able to survive the distance because Mike would put his hands behind their backs and let them hold him so he could rest.

Because he played for the Falcons, the doormat the league has wiped its feet on for 56 years. Tommy Nobis should be in as well. The only reason Deion Sanders got in was he joined ranks with the league's perennial favored darlings, the Cowboys and 49ers.

Now I see why God allow Muhammad Ali to be that great in his most embarrassing he still gave Larry some type of comfort we all know Larry Holmes can't beat Muhammad Ali if Muhammad Ali was not sick but it just shows how good God is God allow Larry Holmes to get his day in the sun before Mike this is why we all got to fight someway somehow in life but when you are fighting a knowledge God Jesus is Lord only a fool will say there is no God psalm 14:1

  • @kingdavidboldnessfashion6740
