Hi, I'm Ellie and I run Oakapple Haberdashery, a fabric store for people who love quilting and crafting with bright colourful fabric and thread. See behind the scenes in my workspace at the Palace Hub and my Sewing Shed. Meet Dario Doblo, the brave little van who carries all my goodies to quilt shows around the country, and have a look at what I'm creating and sewing.
I'll also show you new fabrics and threads when they arrive at Oakapple HQ.
You might even get to meet Mr Oakapple, who draws out all the instructions for my projects, thanks to his work as a cartoonist.
I'll also try and show you around the various quilt and craft shows that I attend, and of course all the lovely fabrics and quilts on display at these events.

Festival of Quilts 2024 Winning Quilts
In this video I have tried to show the quilts that won each category plus a few others. There's no talking in this one, just background music and a small amount if text,
It was filmed at the Festival of Quilts, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK in August 2024. I was an exhibitor at the show so I popped out when I could to film the quilts.

Thank you for sharing this video I wasn’t sure how to cut it up so checking first was a great help. Sewing four of these for my grandchildren this Christmas, a gorgeous panel and excellent quality fabric😊.

Thank you! It is a lovely place to visit, so peaceful.All sorts of different groups go there, my sewing friends go several times a year but I can only usually fit in one or two trips 😊

Thank you for your comment, as you will see you are not the only person to think this! Looking back at it I do see what you mean. Videos I have uploaded after this one, I have put effort into being steady with the camera, I hope you will see the improvement!

Move the camera slowly from side to side . Those fast moves make me dizzy & cant really see & enjoy the quilt. Couldnt watch past 1st few quilts.
Thank you for your feedback, you're not the first to point this out, so I've been trying to move more slowly. My next video which was from Bath and West I think is better but I hope to keep improving!

Really lovely quilts but I suffer from migraines and vertigo and such a shame, I just couldnt watch the video. Moving just too fast and from side to side made me feel dizzy.
Thank you for your feedback. This is very much a new venture for me and I'm still learning. I'm down in Shepton Mallet next week so I will try and make a more stable video!
