I'm glad I found your channel. For the last three months I've been watching vlogs of Americans and Europeans living in China and what they show of life in China is jaw dropping and very intimating. From their vlogs it looks like China is living in 3024. So modern so advanced and so hi tech. I was literally panicking. Your vlog showed a little less intimidating side of China's rise as the global leader of everything modern. The train you showed was late in arriving at its destination and for a time the dining carriage was locked and breakfast was delayed. And the TV didn't work. This side of China is very soothing to watch and very nicely compliments its very modern side. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I would dispute the trip constitutes the longest Metro/suburban rail line in the world. Shanghai and Suzhou are two different administrative entities. They run seperat Metro/suburban rail networks. Connecting the two lines doesn't mean it is a continuous line because there are two networks. In Sydeny Australia, there is a line (may be 2) that is more than 90km each. For both, No need to change trains at all. And travelling in the same Suburban rail network. Berowra to Richmond is likely the longest continuos line in all Sydeny Suburban rail network. From the most northerly train station in the network, the train goes down south over the Sydeny Harbour Bridge into Sydeny CBD via the North Shore line. From the CBD, it goes on to the west to Parramatta, the geographical centre of all Sydeny Metropolitan region. Then the train comes to Blacktown, the beginning of Outer Western suburbs of Sydney Metro. From Blacktown, the trains heads up north west to Richmond, one of the oldest suburbs in all Sydeny Metro. Next to Richmond station, there is a Macca's (McDonald's restaurant) where one could have a quick bite. Then one could head back to Berowra on the same train that has just taken you to Richmond. This Berowra to Richmond line goes through different parts of Sydeny metro depicting different ways of living in Sydney. The scenery changes according to different mixes of housing. Passengers are also different in socio-ethnoic backgrounds along different segments of the line. This line goes through some of the most well off to some of the least privileged parts of Sydeny. Berowra station is about 37/38km from Central Station (the main station for all Sydeny Suburban network). Wilkpeid says 44km but it is via the Northern line which is not the route taken for it would need change of trains. So we ignore this Richmond station is 60km from Central station. So it is 97(98)km between Berowra station and Richmond station with a continuous line that needs no change of trains anywhere in between. I haven't trained to Emu Plains, the second of these two long lines for over 20 years. B I last went to Richmond via the train back on Xmas Eve 2023. It's a great trip for those enjoy trains and interested in different socio-ethnoic make up of Sydeny metro. A good lesson about Sydeny in some ways. Thanks for this video, though. There should be more of these seemingly uninteresting train trips on social media.

Thanks for sharing, the trains you mentioned in Australia sound very interesting, passengers are a fascinating part of the journey. Wish I could go and experience those trains myself some day. Have a good day~

Slow trains have their charms in modern time's obsession with high speed. The room looks nice for a night or two. Services are fine even with no luck with the dining car. Thanks
