    What’s the name of the lights you installed? Or information on them

  • @EarlBalentine
    @EarlBalentine 4 місяці тому

    I have a Grand Design Reflection which color wires from LED light attach to RV color wires. Our trailers should have the same wiring.

    • @nikolairunstrom5664
      @nikolairunstrom5664 4 місяці тому

      They should be standard trailer colors. If not, check your manual.

    You should have bought the one with the reverse light also, cause it also helps.

      Honestly I don’t. I had such a hard time figuring it out, it didn’t stick. I used a multimeter and tested each wire and made a note.

    I notice on some of these sort of installations people use the screws as well to mount them on the back of the RV. After a year, how have you found that the adhesive has held up?

    • @shallowwaterguy4755

    We purchased the same lights for our Grand Design 337RLS fifth wheel. Connected them and the turn signals worked with the truck key turned to "on" position, but will not work with the truck started, any suggestions? It's bizarre and frustrating!

    • @shallowwaterguy4755
      @shallowwaterguy4755 Рік тому

      With our installation, the wiring was hard to figure out. I would go back and recheck to see if those connections are correct and especially if the factory turn signals still work. It’s been too long for me to remember the colors of the wires so I’m no help there. Hope you get this sorted out

    HI, i just got the same trailer and planning to do the same setup, i see that you also tow it with passenger car, do all these wood put lots of weight that affer the stability? i also dont have a truck right now and need to tow it with my camry, thank you in advance

    • @shallowwaterguy4755
      @shallowwaterguy4755 2 роки тому

      After all the wood, my kayaks and gear it was around 700-800 pounds. My car has a tow rating of 1500. The trailer pulled really well, even on the interstate at 70 mph in a cross wind. No issues at all

  • @Army4Runner
    @Army4Runner 2 роки тому

    Very cool. I bought the same trailer from Northern Tool with the intent of doing a similar build. How exactly are you securing your kayaks to the trailer? Just setting them on there with lashings or…?

    • @shallowwaterguy4755
      @shallowwaterguy4755 2 роки тому

      I use cam lock straps. Two on each kayak, one front one rear. I run them over the kayak then under the cross bar.

    Interesting video. I've fished that area a handful of times the past couple years. I've caught trout from the mouth of Hell's Gate west to the sand bar over that grass flat. I've also seen plenty of Tarpon and Triple Tail at that mouth. That water moves fast and erratically through Hell's Gate. Great insights sorry to hear about the mechanical failures.

    • @shallowwaterguy4755
      @shallowwaterguy4755 2 роки тому

      Thanks man! I was surprised at how fast the water was moving seeing how we were between moon cycles, but I guess a lot of water moves through that little cut on its way to the bay. Would have been cool to see some TT’s out there. I’ll be back again, need to hit up Ozello with you sometime

    Great information! I agree 100%. I will try the cut down slam shady. I have been doing well with the 3” slam shady, but those really small ones may want the 2” version you created. One pointer I learned is to watch for bubbles after they roll. Sometimes the bubble trail is in a certain direction which will be where to cast 🎣

    Awesome work Pat!! Excellent observation!! My thought process is the same as yours with topwater, but this could definitely be a contributing factor that it turns and shows colors that you wouldn’t think would ever be visible to the fish!!
