Great video, I hope the local news got to air it and show others why teachers matter so much and are undervalued.
Thank you, @artievfilms! We couldn't agree more! There are so many educators across this country who never get the recognition they truly deserve. Thank you for watching!
A special teacher in a child's life can be the difference between success and failure for the rest of that child's life. I had that teacher in Grade 5 - back in the last century, in 1964. I moved on to Junior High School the next year, and then to Senior High, and then I moved on to Life. My teacher moved to another city while I was in High School and I lost track of him. In 1996 I happened to run into an old elementary school classmate and we talked about the old school and old friends. I asked if she knew where my favorite teacher ended up and she said "After University I ended up living in the same city they were in. We've been next door neighbors for 15 years". If it hadn't happened to me, I would never have believed the story! I got the chance to see my old teacher again and I did exactly what the kids in this video did - I told him about the impact he'd had on me and that I still benefitted from the things I'd learned in his class that year. He died a few years later which made that chance meet-up all the more special. If you have the chance to tell someone how much they meant to you, don't put it off until "later".
YES!! I work at a local college in Pennsylvania and the college kids have called me their favorite! Cause I talk to them and ask them how their classes r going and making sure they r doing ok. And all I do there is make sure they have dishes to eat off of. They smile when they see me…one ran up to me after summer break and hugged me cause she missed me. Inspire people every chance u get!! Cause u never kno what a lasting effect it has on them!! I’m not sure how I inspire them…but they inspire me…to always b a better version of me…which in turn…inspired them to b a better version of themselves!! That’s what most unique about this!! Always stay positive for u…but always stay positive for them!! Lasting impressions will NEVER die!!
I LOVE U DOCTOR BROWN
0:38 you can also see my brother
I don't see anything available for download other than the app I previously had through the school and deleted.
This app replaced the old app. If you search "Jenks Public Schools" in the App Store, it should be the only thing that pops up. The logo/icon looks similar to the old one but if you see the Trojan Head, you've got the right one.
What app is this supposed to replace? By chance is this combining the number of apps we have to have? Does this simplify the user experience any?

Martin Luther King Jr. changed America in a big way. His peaceful protests and many speeches paid off. Let me tell you how it all started. He was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. You might recognize him because of his famous “I have a dream” speech, which took place at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. Martin was a black man from a black family. When he was just a little boy, he loved to take piano lessons from his mother and so did the rest of his siblings, Christine King Farris, A. D. King. Their family was poor. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up but ended up being a social activist and a Christian minister. His first job was as a paperboy who delivered newspapers ( in case you didn’t know). He started when he was eight in 1937. Martin Luther King Jr. went to Morehouse college when he was 15 which means he skipped a few grades. He finished college in 1948 when he was 19. He had a Bachelor of arts degree in sociology. About seven years later on December 1st, 1955, there were protests on the street from blacks wanting change and equality. The protests happened because the police arrested a black woman named Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white person. At that time, black people had to give up their seats to whites which is racist and wrong. Many of these protesters were also arrested, beaten up by officers, or attacked by wild dogs. A lot of these groups were encouraged by Martin to fight for freedom. In 1964, the civil rights act law was passed and Martin Luther King Jr. was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Soon after, a man named James Earl Ray killed Martin and went to jail. James Earl Ray later died in prison because of liver disease. Martin Luther King Jr. was a good man. He will always be remembered for his good deeds and hard work.
