So the thing about Wuthering Waves' Version 1.4...
This is the final version update of the 1.X cycle. I understand it's definitely a filler patch but you know what? Maybe that's what it should be, an extension of the last version update. That said, this is a fantastic patch, though, perhaps we can go a bit further don't you think?

I played Wuthering Waves for 2 days without sleep, and continued after a short nap.... So if I sound tired, well, there you go. Anyway, after completing the entire story and basically finishing almost every world quest, it got to a point where I subjected myself into something I wouldn't be willing to do.     personally, Cammellya comp quest are amazing on what it trying to do, great BGM, she even got her own song, amazing story telling even if the story itself simple, show her current motivations while still have mistery that make her may relevant in future story Somnoire labyrinth story tho, there lot of good thing and idea but its could getting better for sure. for BOSS issue tho, like other said its different design with PGR so understandable they cant just make new boss every patch. but I do think KURO at least add variant if want to reuse boss. either it new moves, calling bunch of small TDs, or maybe field effect

    The final boss fight for camellya's quest definetley should've been camellya herself Fuck it should've been Camellya vs overclocked/alter ego camellya, imagine fighting vines with vines! The bird was a dissapointment Hopefully V2.0 delivers a lot more

    i think it is harder for kuro to keep pushing for a new boss fight for each of their patch in wuwa as it is in general very different from pgr, i mean lets not forget that in pgr boss fight is literally just that a "boss fight" at the end of a chapter, and for most player they won't even see that boss again until 1-2 years later when they add that fight to babel/ppc rotation, whereas in wuwa a boss fight is more of a mean to an end as its practically a device to funnel grind what with each boss drops upgrade materials/echoes, i will agree to your point if they will be adding more of the red enemies in the map for each patch but for boss unless they change the way we upgrade our resonator its quite unviable strategy as it means we'll be in a constant grindfest with each patch bringing new material to grind we also had to account on the map change per patch as unless they had an empty space ready for them to put said boss room in the previous map, we'll likely be bombarded with a whole bunch of instances which tbh at least to me it defeats the point of being an open world game if everything beomes an instance stage,i think the only way we could get a new boss fight for each patch is if theyre introducing a gamemode exclusive boss which tbh comes with a different set of problem as well, but in all and all i do agree with your sentiment in regards to the scarcity of content i mean sure it is a quality content but at some point players would want more content for a new patch or at least an option to play a different kind of content could be nice as we're severly lacking that option in ww.

    This is such a constructive review video! I completely agree with your suggestions for 1.4-you bring up great points and give solid examples on how to improve it. Personally, I love the Camellya story, but yeah, the final boss is a bit underwhelming. As for the big cat event boss, I really hope we get to fight the massive one! That said, I wasn’t even expecting a fully animated sequence in an event quest, so I’m honestly pretty satisfied with it haha.

    Wuwa' playerbase is very different from pgr'. And i bet it'll go even further from pgr from now on I wish we had a more combat focused elements in wuwa like we have in pgr, but i'm starting to agree that a not too dark fantasy works better for a open world gacha game. Walking around with your favorite character in a depressing world is not a great business plan lol. That's probably what they're trying to fix with rinascita

    7:29 I was thinking the same thing about the boss fights, when compared to PGR which add a new boss fight almost every new patch, Wuthering didn't and it was kind of weird... but then I remember that Wuwa Simple has a different development process compared to PGR, and that might be the reason. It has so many more thing to work on in every new patch that might be hard to do the same as pgr wich has way less things Also maybe, just maybe they plan on adding more new bosses when it's a full new region... Renascita might have a lot of bosses since it seems to be a much bigger region compared to what we've had so far.

      practically yeah for the most part aside from new construct the only other things that they allocate time to is the patch boss (yes they made a new map as well but its mostly corridor stages anyway), i mean some time they made new endgame content but its not a constant update either unlike ww.

    Mech was subpar from day 1 and never had her time to shine. Luna got powercreeped by Karen a year before Lamia. Powercreep is so insanely huge in PGR that new tanks outclass dps completely. There are games with faster powercreep, but also games with way slower (and not as huge) powercreep.

    Also love the idea of making a new boss every patch like pgr, they're probably just being limited to reusing old bosses because of ascension materials, because knowing Kuro they are pretty capable of making new bosses evey patch, if they can make 2 characters having very unique gameplay every patch why wouldn't they be able to make new bosses too

      You make a great point, material saturation and 2 character designs would be much. Though I wonder if bosses that have materials dedicated to a character would be a good idea. Because let's be honest the Fallacy of No Return's echo certainly doesn't work for Camellya but her asc material comes from it. Personally, I wouldn't mind it either way but just a thought to entertain.

      @@Smorticle I think a problem with that, is that it would probably also require an integrated boss location in the overworld as well (or at the very least some kind of portal somewhere fitting), and maybe even an entire balanced echo, depending on the enemy.. Otherwise all the boss is really good for, is as a ToA boss as of now. Materials Dedicated to Characters probably also don't really work too well in WuWa, with how many characters we are expected to get each time. But yeah, for the Camellya Story quest, they could've defo just pulled out the same Camellya "AI" boss-thingy(?) we had in Somnium Labyrinth. (Also, the Character AI thing in general is all new in 1.4, so maybe they are gonna expand on it even further. My Hopium at least lol)

    Camellya pushed my account to be able to full clear the overdrive zone, but I can’t say I want to experience that again. Looking forward to next patch, but also really surprised with Lumi, both English voice acting and kit. I love characters with high mobility so I’ll definitely add her to my open world/casual team if they allow us to purchase her from the shop like how we could with Youhu. I wish aoe combat could get a tweak, they’re really good with single target boss fights, but when it comes to fighting multiple enemies it’s either super frustrating or not challenging enough.

      ​@@Smorticle yeah so far we got a good amount of 4* that had very unique kit compared to the mostly straightforward kit the 5* had, the fact that even if there is an optimal way to play the 4* resonator in their bis team, its really is great that most of them also had branching path/optional rotation built in to their kit like danjin combo route, youhu's rng, or even lumi's state, i'm just hoping we got to see more of this resonator that had a ton of branching choices in their gameplay because for me personally i would rather had a fun unit than an op one.

    There's so much more to say about this version update despite it being a filler like how it came out after Halloween, the Music, and questioning how old is Camellya and wotnot. But I really wanted to talk about the things that stood out to me that could be improved upon. Truth is, somehow, I feel like patch after patch, the game has been a little mediocre in my mind. It's certainly not bad, but it's like Kuro is really pulling their punches. Oh well, either way, I'm excited for 2.0! It's crazy to think that this is the end of the 1.X cycle. Anyway, what do you think about 1.4? What do you want to see in 2.0? Also, this is a reupload; had to tweak a couple parts of the video I was unhappy with. These things happen.

      1.4 isn't a main patch. Camellya story and IR expansion and some events are the only key part. 2.0 has to be huge else they wouldnt be leaping this high.

    the reason why it isnt so noticible for f2p is because u can still get the max rewards as long as u have one team that is invested enough for all content. maybe 2 and 3 are really needed most of the time but u are still getting most of the important rewards. as a f2p u already know you arent chasing the leaderboards so that why you don't really worry so much, which is unlike games like hsr

    The concern is not for f2p because they gonna be sure make a really fair compensation. But the whale is gonna be struggling because that's mean they need to buy twice as much per month.

    Someone else brought up this problem but I really hope that that they change all the reimbursement to Black cards instead of just the material to pull for characters, cuz if they don't that will literally mess up so much, I'll probably have to start skipping weapons even though before without spending money I was able to get them 😞

    Global has been given the short end of the stick in the past with some short patches where players were effectively given very poor compensations for the loss of possible resource gain and gacha currency. Since then, Kuro has changed their stance, especially with how they handled WuWa but there is plenty of room for concern. I doubt every single resource is going to be compensated fully and it is possible that both F2P and spenders are going to have troubles. It's going to be rough for Global, nobody should expect a smooth transition.

    I know they released news about Luna oblivion sync patch, but my calculation for the patches were Full glb&cn sync before end of 2025 Atm cn is 10 patch ahead, and until December cn will be 19 patch ahead(9 extra patch within next year) To make sure we can play through each patch evenly we will have to go through with 21 days for each patch losing about 14 days of normal patch In total 19 patch in 1 year time and losing about 285 days of normal patch. They will have to increase the amount of skull by 50 extra for each patch(based on what I get 48 every PPC cycle) They will have to increase the amount of BC by 65-75% at the least about 1.7× to fully compensate for the lost bc(they need to add that amount within the 21 day patch{that additional 65% is from the total amount of the 35 days patch including dailies, weekly and such}) Since I only buy monthly I am not sure how to calculate and integrate the amount in RC packs Btw since I did a 21 day patch for each event(total 19 including the upcoming cn events) we will still need an extra 14days of Jan 2026(I think) Also we get around 9000bc in average from each patch, around 8000-9500(usually) also global normal patch is 35 days - 5 weeks while cn is 42 days - 6 weeks( we already get less time to save up bc compared to cn, not that I mind that and my calculation is only based on global server rewards and not the cn server)

Idk why I thought you were saying "We use black cards instead of event tickets" rather than interpret it as a question which made me explain. Sorry about that. To answer your question, yeah. We do use BCs to convert it into event tickets. But the issue is that's only where they can be used for. There's also coating, weapon and CUB gacha that don't use event construct ticketstickets, so it's favourable to get BCs instead of something that only limit the usage of reward to one specific gacha.

      @alexanderpelaez5260 BC is universal use. Event Construct tickets are only for constructs. I.E. if they only reward us with construct tix, then we'll be able to only pull for constructs. Weap, CUB, coating, gacha etc are out of the picture. If BC, you can use it for units, weapons, cubs, gacha event exclusive prizes, etc.

    Pull currency is only one concern, skulls, harmony materials, HT materials, vouchers... the nearest S ranks, Qu, Luna and Hanying are all meta defining and for players like me that care about the meta, all secondary and primary currencies require a substantial boost, up to 300%, depending on how many patches are being combined.

      I completely agree that's one thing I was worrying about too I do want them to reimburse all the currency we would miss out by the shortening of patches but I also want them to upgrade all the materials because we have so many characters we have to upgrade/and hopefully they find a way to still make that event that comes every patch still good or double the currency since that's where you get a new characters equipment

    I didn't want this to happen, merely from the fact of the compensation. That's a whole lot of BC for them to give out for free. Second, roadmaps, it won't exist anymore once we're caught up. No more planning ahead, no more building your resources accordingly. It is what it is. Kuro has given me a reason to reevaluate my spending towards them after this announcement.

      The problem is, they didn't mention giving us BCs. Instead they mentioned giving us Event construct R&D tickets through events which is a massive red flag since weapon, CUB and coating gacha use BCs instead of event R&D tickets.

      @LatifaFleuranza oh no... they want us to only pull for constructs then? I mean that makes sense... since if the focus is to pull for the characters.. then event tickets are needed. CUBs and everything else... we'll have to figure out a way around it. Also, bcs are gonna be the prize for the patch events I'm assuming. So there's that I suppose.

      @@Nomimonyo There's no way around it. They have already replaced all the BCs with Event R&D tickets on all events since Alisa patch. The only way to obtain BCs is through PPC, Warzone and Norman now. Story mode as well but those are very limited. Even if we take into consideration that Kuro will compensate us equally for the patch time we losing out on, it would be like BCs from weeklies we were supposed to be getting would be converted into Event R&D tickets without us wanting for it. They're putting us in a bottleneck situation where we would have to spend to get gacha coatings or weapons. The only possible solution to the problem is to make them change compensation from Event R&D tickets to BCs instead.

This is what I've been dreading since long ago when people complained about getting global up to speed, and so far, all my worries are still standing lol. Those coatings are going to be horrible to get then. Which I mainly go after.

    It's difficult for people who invested a lot in recent frames, since we're about to be hit by one year worth of powercreep in the next six months, and another year worth of powercreep in the following ones. It's like all we've spent was for naught.

      I know they released news about Luna oblivion sync patch, but my calculation for the patches were Full glb&cn sync before end of 2025 Atm cn is 10 patch ahead, and until December cn will be 19 patch ahead(9 extra patch within next year) To make sure we can play through each patch evenly we will have to go through with 21 days for each patch losing about 14 days of normal patch In total 19 patch in 1 year time and losing about 285 days of normal patch. They will have to increase the amount of skull by 50 extra for each patch(based on what I get 48 every PPC cycle) They will have to increase the amount of BC by 65-75% at the least about 1.7x to fully compensate for the lost bc(they need to add that amount within the 21 day patch{that additional 65% is from the total amount of the 35 days patch including dailies, weekly and such}) Since I only buy monthly I am not sure how to calculate and integrate the amount in RC packs Btw since I did a 21 day patch for each event(total 19 including the upcoming cn events) we will still need an extra 14days of Jan 2026(I think) Also the average event rewards We get from each patch is around 9000bc(including ex Norman and ex PPC)(it's usually around 8600-9600{one time we got 10k too}) so the 65-70% increase is from this amount

      As long as we get all of the currency not less than CN, I'm not bothered by any of this. We got S-Rank selector in Wintry Shackles patch but considering they didn't gave us 6 star selector in Wintry Shackles patch just like CN, I have less faith in them. If I felt I'm not being respected as players just because of some rush issues and because of being global server individual, I will quit this game and will never trust any indie company that makes gacha games, ever again.

      @@WanshiLucidDreamer I was one of the top #1 rankers on the PPC leaderboard and i can tell you they really don't care about spenders especially if you are not a Chinese. Very little VIP care. One of them spent like having every single SSS+ possible thing in the game and have never received a single Wuthering Wave Beta invitation. But ofc random Genshin channels does. There are many good players & better than guy like Rexlent yet he's the only one being choosen as a presentative.

      I think it's bad and basically a speedrun to EOS. Like congratulations guys, you've managed to make everyone whaling because they know a character will be viable for a long time, reconsider that decision. I went from clearing out packs to wondering whether I'll re-up the monthly or BP. and I absolutely don't trust Kuro to compensate us fairly. We already get shortchanged compared to CN since launch, do we think that behavior will suddenly change? The other big red flag is they did not come with specifics. They're either waiting to see how we react to see how much they have to do or are completely incompetent. Both of those make me very concerned for the future of the game.

    By my calculation, we'll have to fly through 18 versions in the next 13 months, it'll be very interesting to see how they'll manage that. Anyways, I'm very excited to get to play new content faster
