    I cheat hard, other ideas bore the crap out of me. I specifically pick ice cream, doughnuts, snickers, oreos, cake, all of it! A lot gets thrown away at the end when I get sick (literally), but man do I know how to scratch that itch. Completely embracing my addict mindset, after all this mayhem (one cheat day) I jump back into the ways of the carny folk, and twice a month I fast 48 hours. My carnivore diet is just beef, bone broth, salt, water, and plain coffee. (The Dirty Lion) I'm more scared of pastas, rice, breads, etc because it's so normal and much more likely to sneak back into my style. Being over the top with the sugar not only makes the experience kind of surreal and easy to separate from my normal routine, it makes me sick lol which I guess is a fantastic aversion technique. (Cheat day about 1x every 2months) Planning the cheat day makes my nipples hard it's so fun.

      thanks for sharing :) as I say no cheating its a treat or just sabotaging yourself depending on your goal I reckon :) and since we are all adults its our choices we all make and the big thing we have to be happy going through life addiction is real I still think it worth trying to get away from that if you can and just do say carnivore ice cream for your cheat as one thing to take away and try to get something else to replace the others and slowly drop those but I am that purist type agree on the pastas and breads those were my addictions more than sugars

    I did five weeks and felt worse than when I started. I dropped 15 pounds, but felt constantly thirsty despite up taking water and electrolytes. My mood was okay, I had energy but lost the motivation to go do something. I never got past the liquid poops which was a big factor in the desire to get out more. I am going to try again for another six weeks and see how it goes.

      Hello That is wild and of course makes me curious why that happens Just thinking out loud :) I wonder if the amount of salt if you were using and electrolytes was to much then ? Or was something else I know I never found electrolytes needed but some do I also found my salt intake was needed as I would salt to taste some days more than others As example make a LOT of meat and salt it not eat it all and next day it was like WOW this is salty or sometimes was I cant taste the salt and had to use more I still drink quite a bit of water daily and I hear some do not So this is a we each need to find our own path Only other thought is depending what you are eating now just ease into it over a month slowly making it more carnivore each week and see if that helps and great to hear you are going to try it again :) Like anything might take some practice and getting it to work so maybe even tracking it could help ? And yeah for the OH NO and liquid crap is NOT fun and does go away and if not for sure I would say something else happening and might go back to the try tracking some and the slowly work into it and see what is happening I can say I can NOT do rendered fat out of a pan say making burgers and then pouring that over as some do just rips through me Best of luck for sure and please keep updating :)

    I appreciate this video! I received my Tastee today and couldn’t wait to throw some steaks in there. I used the steak setting, T-Bone, Medium rare/131°. Inserted the probe, put the steak in, hit start, and waited. First steak seemed to go ok. Machine stopped at set internal temp. It was barely medium rare though. Second steak, same settings. Start and wait. Some time passed and I looked at the app and it said 141°! Whoa!! It blew right past 131° and still had 7 minutes on the 15 minute timer. I had to manually stop. Full on medium. 😬 I mean, it IS supposed to stop at the set internal temp, right? I think I got a dud… replacement on order.

      Hello Let me know if you do need to get ahold of them how they handle it as I want to make sure anything I suggest works of course :) Sorry to hear your bad issue and hope they resolve it for sure :) Also try to check the firmware as I had a issue and had to update the firmware forgot exact steps but was through the app and that solved my issue of it not working properly Also on the steaks for sure try a dry brine as IMHO that makes the crust so much better :) Curious in the med/rare if the carry over brought it up some ? And as sure you know you can adjust that up or down to your preference Again please do post again let me know :)

    As far as weight lost, I learned long ago not to chase a number - chase health. Your body knows what it needs to do. Wind it up with the right food and turn it loose. While I hope to get into the 130’s, I trust my body to get where it’s going to land, and take whatever little detours it needs to get there. In the meantime, the other carnivore benefits are by themselves enough to keep going. My lifelong depression is gone. The black cloud I never understood, since childhood, just up and left. Sugar addiction vanished in two days. I’m carnivore for life!

      HI it's tough to do compared with a pan or a grill some have good luck with freezing them and what I do is dry brine all my steaks anyway so that has worked for me I do still prefer grilling of course but this is handy and quick and do lamb chops mostly in them and they kinda react the same I am doing a few more videos with it as I get back to making more vids so will do one focusing on how to get a crust on meat for the dry brine, you need a cooling rack and a sheet pan salt the meat like you would to eat it but do all sides and put it back in the refrigerator for 24 hours if you can flip it halfway through I take out the bottom non-stick rack and then use the metal one so the meat sits higher to the element is why we use those taller ones :) and I do love the probe as I do not need to worry bout overcooking the steak the frozen method is just putting it in when frozen but without the probe, its more guess when its done or put the probe in halfway through I do prefer dry brine steak as it is more flavorful I feel ' let me know if one of those works and I will do a video in October for sure on getting better results with meat thanks :)

    When I first started carnivore 2 weeks ago, the first week I didn't have any cheese. It was just meat water salt and sometimes a little butter. After one week I really wanted to have some cheese so I bought some hard Sharp zero carb cheddar cheese. Within hours of eating it, I noticed myself being a little bit more congested and having to clear my throat every so often. I could still breathe through my nose, but it felt like the passageway was more open before I reintroduced cheese. I have some whole milk in the refrigerator that might go bad soon, so I want to drink that tonight. After that is gone and all my cheese is gone, I'm going to really limit it. Because I definitely notice some negative differences. Another difference is plaque on teeth and dry skin on my face behind my beard, which all went away during that one week with no dairy.

      Interesting on not keeping them down for me was ripping through me super fast in a not good way when I had issues with them Maybe one of those come back try once a year and see if things change might be like me where ya finally can eat them and then go HMMMMM I guess I really still wont eat them but know they are kinda there and maybe more a yes I did heal measurement as a side of me is very skeptical if whatever was making me bad would flare back up again in say 6 months ? And then what damage might that be doing in small ways to me since it was bad before maybe I just do not notice it mentality so to say almost a worry of what if :) And since I just love meat so much this week been doing a lot of smoking so having left over brisket and the eggs that the wife eats I never even think of making some eggs when I can have meat so I also know its more a back burner food these days

    To answer the question in the title of this video, why you're not losing weight on the carnivore diet, I'll give you the simple answer. It's because you're not really on the carnivore diet. People eat all kinds of crap and because they're eating more meat they say that they're on the carnivore diet but they're not eating just eggs meat and butter. And by meat I mean real meat one ingredient meat, not cold cuts salami pepperoni processed food packaged meats with bread crumbs on them and all kinds of other seed oils and garbage on it. If they really want to do the 90-day carnivore challenge that's what they have to eat for 3 months. Everybody that does that loses weight. Even if they started off skinny to begin with they still lose weight because any little bit of fat that they had on their body just melts away. I was relatively thin to begin with at 5' 9" and 158 lb. But after a few months on the carnivore diet I went down to 135 lb. I never expected to lose any wait because I thought that the weight loss only happens to people who start off very overweight. But my body told me that it did not need those extra 23 lb of fat. I want to point out that there was no change in my activity level. This weight loss is strictly from changing what I eat. You do not need to exercise a lot or join a gym in order to lose weight. Just eat the proper human diet.

    • @MinimalistCarnivore
      @MinimalistCarnivore Місяць тому

      Hello and yup that is usually the case Many who are losing a lot of weight like 100 lbs or more do hit stalls though even clean eating For sure some of it is eating dairy as that is a thing that makes a lot of folks gain or stall besides some other things

    Hi Chad, I came across your channel and subscribed. Today, Saturday Sept 7, 2024 is day ONE. I gave away all the food in my frig, the Stevia, the media crema (Lala) and started to drink tea today, ate 2 hard boiled eggs, just finished a ribeye. I use the cast iron pan with the grill bumps, I haven't understood cooking a steak with butter so i put butter on the pan. I used salt and pepper, Lawry's garlic salt and Wright's Liquid Smoke. My frig is empty, just has bacon, ribeye, butter, and fresh shrimp. I live in Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco Mexico at the beach) so I get delicious Sonora beef and fresh seafood right from the boats/fish markets. I did Atkins years ago, lost 53 pounds, so this will be a breeze. I have a list of 19 things, beginning with diabetes and morbidly obese. Drinking water with some Suero (electrolytes) in it. I think the best way to eat is to sink back to how people ate years ago when things were simple. They ate natural homegrown and they ate whatever they could!! The argument that vegetables aren't good for us is very interesting to me and actually starting to make a lot of sense. But even knowing that every society has eaten bread for centuries is important to me. I know that the quality of bread though has definitely gone down and getting special grains and grinding them yourself and making your own bread is probably the best way but also the fact that people have eaten honey and fruit for centuries is important to me. I think it's ridiculous to tell people that they are supposed to eat such a huge variety of foods when in history nobody had access to that!!

    • @MinimalistCarnivore

      Hello yeah the bread thing sadly pretty much no old grains exist anymore and they are not truly fermented to be healthy which is one of the ways many think we did eat it without issues just repeating what I hear from some that have truly gone into that side big time and makes sense why some are OK with fermented foods as a side to meat and are healthy Dr Sean O'Mara is one of those folks forgot the other guy who is into the bread his family started a bread company he is into this kinda stuff and seems very healthy I do think our bodies are tough and very good at dealing with some other things but as you said about access to variety is spot on fruits in season to what was local while hunting yeah I can see that maybe some root veggies naturally to help when hunting was lean for sure happened I do think again our modern fruits are nothing like we had in past and over done but OK as a pick me up when hunting or out working hard and I think so many do not think just how hard life was as far as hunting gathering just living and was work that was insane tough so I am also one that thinks we need to move and its a mistake I made NOT moving way more than I should have but doing that now :) and why Europe in some areas where folks are moving more than some other countries are healthier while eating some pasta and other things but that is a deeper subject of course :)

I'm not sure what else is healing right now as I also have memory and concentration issues that are still a problem due to an acquired brain injury, I also have some hormone and sleep issues not yet resolved and scalp psiorisis (though this has improved). I've always looked young for my age (more than a few people have thought I was 10 years younger than I actually am) but around when I turned 40 I developed a small worry line between my eyes. I'm now 45 and instead of being worse, this is barely visible. I've always tended to be depressive anxious person and though I believe I still have the tendency and sometimes have real down periods, most of the time that is no longer an issue.

      hello and CONGRATS I can't imagine that relief and feeling that test result must have been there was a recent medical publication that showed those doing low carb keto/carnivore can cure IBS and the more speak up the more do it the more proof this works so congrats on also being part of those that can say to others YES this can work its worth a try to the mental thing I know for me it was a longer slower thing and I still have days :) but they are much better quicker behind me etc... have you ever looked into taking creatine 10g dose there are some showings that it can help mental/brain function and memory etc... started doing it but keep forgetting so not sure how long it takes to build up but worth researching some as its been out so long and shown safe and its NOT just for putting on muscle also helps bones etc... good to look younger now than look older when we were young like so many of us wanted to do it seems :) curious if you came into this to lose weight as many do or more for the IBS and the mental function stuff ? I have a hard time putting this in words but its like the first year for me I kinda hit this plateau of massive change almost whirlwind so much and things mellowed then over the next year but still small changes so I felt like on that 3rd year my carnivore life was now on this behind me thing and this is where I wish I could write better :) but its like past the half way point and into this new life and I think that this is just TRULY my daily life now its easier and way less of thinking about it and the mental issues for me while again still around are so much better as its not one more "thing" in my head and not saying that will be the case with you more this is what I found is that old way of eating and health is well behind and ahead is small changes like my recent egg thing and allergies better and again no way do I say its like some hallmark movie ending :) life is still tough money is tight life happens idiots leaving there cart in the middle of the aisle at Costco and looking at you then walking pasts not caring :) when you move it they get this pissy look on their face :) hahahaha OK that happened yesterday so fresh in my head but instead of letting it get to me I just shook my head and thought how sad to be so self centered and be inconsiderate and went on

      Hello that is really interesting/strange how long does it creep and is it starting to be a lot and is it more fat how lean are you now as in weight height build for your body ( not as much asking as self reflection is it fat?) and does it flatten out how long are you trying to do carnivore and what are you consuming? before you notice how long have you been keto ? some might think if you under eat carnivore which happens that some weight goes on as your body goes into storage mode this of course is not always the case as under eating can also make you drop some just like over eating can make some gain so its sometimes finding that balance only thing I can think if you want to try have you slowly come off keto like taking a month to slowly reduce the keto side (veggies and or fruit or the grain stuff) and see what happens (and figure ya might have done that already) only thing I can think of is unless Keto is kinda making you lighter than your body wants to be and the carnivore is kinda saying OH GOOD getting what I need have heard Dr Chaffee mention this also some do as they are healing more and that might be some weight gain of course is that gain feel good or bad and does it feel like muscle or fat and what is the Keto you are eating now super clean or kinda or dirty ? again very curious and also why I do think some are OK with doing Keto as long as its clean and they are OK with that sometimes the Lion diet can help as you bring back things to see if you have issues BUT that of course is not always needed as some can tell if they are having issues already :) I think the thing is IF you are looking for more its worth pushing more to try to do it for 3 months see what happens :) but if you have been doing this a long time have no issues might just be enjoy the keto life and again try to slowly bring it down when changes happen step back one tiny bit and eat what you were and then slowly move forward to more carnivore again and keep doing that if it works :) but again I am never for saying its the only way and has to be done and again its depending on how you feel and what you are after :) so so so curious now :)

    Im a late starter on this at 65 started eggs meat and butter last February lots improvement mainly IBS....I probably need the lions diet...have been reading ingredients for the last 30+ years always ate a "good healthy diet lots of fruit and veg" 😊 with the occasional detox... Eventually it was burnout that did me in... then I found keto and carnivour etc... I sometims have cheese and love cream 🙃 am sensitive with allergy type symtoms but a little better than it was... As far as eggs go I find I can only tolerate 2 a day usùally my breakfast occasionally I try 3 and my body objects.... I love the yoke not as keen on the white, but still prefer to eat whole egg, I have found too much benefit from eggs to give up completely.... I prefer grass fed and/or organic eggs can't do caged or even cage free... at the moment I'm getting free range eggs, still dont feel as good as grass fed and organic.... Down here in Australia there is a "shortage" of eggs 😊

      I live in Australia. I didn’t know there was a shortage of eggs here. I buy from a local where the chickens are grass fed but not certified organic. I have always been able to get my quota of eggs. Must be different in different parts of Australia I am surmising.

      @MinimalistCarnivore when the eggs don't agree with me it feels like a slight discomfort in my upper belly within the first hour.. if anything doesn't agree with me it mostly ends up as inflammation ..it could also explain why my eys have been itchy since I haven't been able to get the grassfed or organic...

      @@Dupi_Cogan Yeah the cost for what they were was my main thing But fun story We lived on the water and had a bank where lots of ducks nested so we also fed them When I was a kid about 12 or so I raised a duck from a egg one of the nest was raided and one egg was left I took it home and found I had to spray and rotate it every few hours and the duck hatched became my duck I guess ya could say but once raised it went back to the wild and for about 4or 5 years she was around the house always pecking at the door to come out and hang out with her even when she had babies she would bring them to see me and they would climb all over me pretty wild experience one I remember so so well :) so yeah ducks do have a special spot for me

    If you could clarify one thing…. You began by saying you had a reaction to egg whites … but didn’t consider just eating the yolks. I am allergic to just about everything and I have been poaching just the yolks as a source of fat and don’t seem to have a reaction. I found the best way to do this is to break the eggs into a bowl and pick out the yolks with a spoon into a pan. Oddly the taste and texture without the whites is different…. and wonderful!!!!

    • @MinimalistCarnivore
      @MinimalistCarnivore Місяць тому

      Hello yes egg yolks were OK with me in the past for allergies with the eggs since now I do not get allergies even with the whites :) non issue for me so sorry about the confusion :) would have been good info I do think many know its the whites that have the issue :) just for fun why I never bothered to pull out the yolks (which I did a few times to test) to much hassle to much waste and not enough out of them for the cost vs just getting fatty meat is how I viewed it :) I used to break them in my hands and just kinda finger pinch off the whites and dump the yolks in whatever one thing I always wanted to try is when they take egg yolks cover them in salt to dry out or salt cured egg yolks was always curious what they would be like hope that helps :)

    Could it be that the eggs are causing inflammation, which is contributing to the weight gain? Sadly, If I eat eggs, my whole body will itch for days, so they are off my list, too.

      Hello could be I did not feel any inflammation did not see any or feel it that I could tell but that does not mean its not happening in my gut/insides somewhere and causing a issues that then changed how my body was digesting food or to say NOT digesting food properly :) so yeah you know the itchy skin then and NOT FUN I used to joke be like a bear in the house rubbing my back on the corners ;) hahahahaha

      @@triciaduffyauthor From me I am sure @DrAJ_LatinAmerica might have some info also Do your or did you eat a ton of high oxalate foods ? Some plants are insane high Sally Norton Oxalates Very worth googling that and seen her info on this Mikhaila had a lof of issues with histamine she has some info and worth searching her name and histamine ua-cam.com/video/nR02eWsFK2I/v-deo.html So she has discussed it quite a bit Also some info just searching carnivore histamine response and meat histamine response For me Lamb is doing really well and I love the lamb chops the most and I get way less than beef Goat also is less in a histamine response but the ones I have had not a fan as much as the lamb Beef that is aged has more of a response but all beef in US is aged 30 days (wet aged) also grass fed has less histamine response so finding a local rancher that you can get fresh cut meat not aged grass fed can help but also expensive so for me lamb works and is cheap and available Dairy has issues for many I know grilling can increase it but I love the flavor much more Boiling can reduce it but I do not want boiled meat :) Also meat in a crock pot vs a instant pot the instant is lower (I notice this and read this) So much info like in the video I linked above and I sometimes take some things with a grain of salt from folks and try to find multiple sources of the same info as some contradict each other quite a bit of course so I am not sure how much actual things work but watching the video is worth it Example the castor oil pack in the vid he talks about I have heard from a few videos but never done it so no idea but one of those things I figure could be worth trying as its NOT something that I feel could hurt you vs some other things that folks suggest so of course we all have to research this more For me I eat more lamb than I do beef these days and smoked grilled lamb I get no real histamine response but with beef I do get some for sure :) but I love it so and for me its more short term and does not radically effect me I do know mold is a huge issue and brought up by many and even in the carnivore space many bring that up and do think there is a lot to mold issues Again I am hesitant when its odd tests and money comes into it and I think some of it is kinda a money grab ? But tha is me being skeptical and I think we can do many natural things that are NOT about testing and money and protocols etc. But yeah just going to have to research and dig and find the common things and then find folks that have actually done these things that are NOT associated with the people doing the tests and or other things :) Hope that helps :)
