Short Answer: Absolutely. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. My only complaint is more of a nitpick, and it's the swearing. This is a Dreamworks movie. That said, I would change nothing else about it whatsoever.

And another thing is that they portrayed Lenny as a coming out gay because secretly he is a vegetarian and is afraid to tell his dad about being a vegetarian in fear he won’t be accepted by his dad, same as someone who is afraid to come out gay fear of not being accepted. I still think shark tale is still a good movie I think the reason why the movie didn’t do well is because they focused on the wrong story. They could’ve been focusing more on the relationship between Lenny and don Lino which is a real life thing a lot of kids have a father that wants them to follow the parents path but instead the kid wants to follow their own path, instead of focusing on the story of the relatable father son relationship storyline they focused on the story of someone who wants to be a somebody who is a nobody and fakes his way to the top to be rich and famous and to be a somebody. That’s just my opinion I could be wrong.

The prosthetics aren’t meant to look “good”. His character was a glam rocker in the 70s/80s and he has a ton of botched plastic surgery that he tries to cover up with the bad makeup

I agree with you man. I was super into the first half... then it took a weird turn, and just took me out of it. I just wish it would have went one way, or another the whole movie. It's not a bad movie imo, but it could have been so much more. I also came out thinking it was a 7/10 movie, but after digesting a bit... 6 maybe 5.5/10. The hesitation at the end was super dumb to me. It just played into the dumb aspects of horror tropes. I do think it's worth a watch in theaters though. (IF YOU'RE A BIG HORROR FAN.)

Curious why you find it so strange? I say that because living in a society filled with divorced parents which to a kid is awful in most cases this movie seems run of the mill and quite endearing, especially the original with Hayley Mills

I remember one of the first times going to Disneyworld I went on the Haunted Mansion ride. At the end of the ride there's a voice that says something along the lines of having a ghost follow you home. And after the ride you walk out and theres a little cemetery on the side and I imagined this little weiner dog ghost jumping out of one of the graves and following me around the park for a while. I think its a fun little memory

Watched the movie when I was about 8 and have continued to rewatch it and recently rewatching it as an 18 year old brought back the memories of when I was younger and brought me to tears

The one thing that got me, in the sense that solidified that this is not their best work, was the way they died, I was ready for another style of ready or not, entity seems to live in a massive home, massive home feels very cluedo, people being hunted I wanted it to give me something different, when they just blew up? It felt like the ready or not guys got their hands on this! Some of the acting by most of them were amazing, carrying through humour and fear which is what I love from these movies, but damn, could have had half an hour chopped off with no issue! Love seeing others opinions, makes me appreciate a film I may have not liked a bit more from a different perspective!

Such a big shame the preview gave away the actual twist in the film . I would of gone to see this but what’s the point of hen you know exactly what’s going to happen .

As a late GenXer born in 1978, this is one of the best movies to describe being an 1980's kid. We were all goonies, and gonnies never die.

Here is a perspective you may find interesting. I was 22 years old when this movie came out, and I did not like it. I have friends just a few years younger than me who count as one of their favorite films. That tells me that I was on the cusp of embracing manhood, and I was less interested in stories about kids. Had I been a few years younger, I may have seen this film as a wistful and nostalgic experience, a memory of my own adventures as a child. But at 22, perhaps I had aged out of the film. It still doesn't really resonate with me. But I like your comments. I'm subscribing to your channel because I like people who think intelligently about movies.

I hope so, Nimona was an instant favourite of mine with relatable protagonists, great comedy and a story that is actually good, not to mention it being one of the few animated mainstream films that managed to get away with a gay couple kissing, oh yeah, i can't wait to see more films like this one!.

Have always loved this film, but I never see reviewers giving props to Robin Wright as Buttercup. She was relatively inexperienced as a film actor and her British accent was spot on. Billy Crystal appeared in a 1975 episode of All in the Family and they became friends instantly. Rob also directed Billy in the wonderful "When Harry Met Sally".

Idk if anyone said this already but the anxiety scenes are so convincing thanks to the animators who actually did their lesson, they researched stuff but also they reviewed Antonio Banderas (Puss' VA) who had a heart attack in 2017 and developed the fear of dying, but later overcame it and now he refers to the experience as "the best thing that ever happened to his life" because it made him revalue things and realize what's truly important in living.

This movie proved how stupid people are because people started going on shark killing sprees, thinking that Jaws was an accurate portrayal of sharks.

I like that it's a great film that doesn't rely on the hero's journey. There are aspects in there if you look hard enough but it isn't really based on that which so so many films do and especially films of that era and genre

At this point while I like that added atention to casting kids instead of 17-22 year olds to make sure the punch Riodan made stuck its suppose to be insane that kids are doing these things to emphasize the obsurdity of most kids stories and coming of age myths. Other then that they droped every other ball to make this show good. The movies were meh this though feels like every other disney flop.

just from what ive seen (not a lot of hp, obviously) percy seems to win in overall story moral. the vid talks about how percy loses a lot but that's so essential to his character. he's all about serving people who need him and sticking to his goals no matter the odds and no matter the pressure. it's all on him yet he doesnt GET to say no, and still, he doesnt let his bitterness get the best of him like literally, the people who he's playing hero for despise him, they mess with him, and he's constantly being told he shouldn't have been born 😭 he _hates_ the gods, yet he fights on their side because there's other people who depend on it
