    Salted dried Buri is like the dry aku or ahi we have here in Hawaii. Also a delicacy that is a bit expensive to purchase.

    I presume the thinking behind a disdain for public displays of affection works in tandem with broken-window theory, or the notion that such behavior may become a slippery slope to more heinous behavior, i.e. public urination, violent crime (I heard eating in public is very taboo in Japan) Hey..Yuki's eldest😊

    As a line cook, living in Northern California, I found this program informative and fascinating. Even if I had eaten some of these things before, like pickled plums, watching it paired with slow cooked pork, sounds delicious. I learned a lot more about how these preserved foods are enjoyed! Thank you!

    Why is it that when Caucasians show youtube, they often show their pale faces, unlike the Japanese who feature only the dishes.

    I love this series and how all the western hosts speak Japanese very well. It shows respect to the culture and all the ppl they meet while teaching westerners about Japanese items, methods and all the Oishii things about Japanese food!

    Great documentary about Tokyo. I wanna visit. I thought Tokyo is the largest city in the world with 40 million people? She said 14 million.

    • @ltakahashi3802
      @ltakahashi3802 7 місяців тому

      You’re both right. Population of Tokyo is 14million. Population of Greater Tokyo Area is 40 million. Looking out of the window on a train ride from Tokyo, through Kawasaki and onto Yokohama there is no indication where Tokyo-to ends and Kanagawa-ken begins.

      @@griffinfinity I found it! I searched on Spotify and saw that it was available to listen to there! The reason it is hard to find via regular web searches is that it is part of the Nash Music Library. Which is a Japanese music library service. It is not a song performed by a typical musical group or artist. Like the closing song for Document 72 Hours by Matsuzaki Nao. ua-cam.com/video/ChwLT4ByNU8/v-deo.html
