We DO have excessive traffic!Granted,nothing like Seattle.But as a pedestrian,each day that I am not roadkill is a victory.Disability makes me not part of the car/bike culture.Public transportation limited.If you are downtown, adequate.

Don’t try to run a business. They are so anti business here, it’s like California. Moved my businesses to Tennessee and Nevada. The best part was my employees could afford to buy houses instead of renting. My house just sold so I am outta here. The homeless problem has become dangerous. Beware.

I use umbrellas (mostly for sun),but for safety as a pedestrian.They make me big...8feet tall, instead of5 feet tall.Of course,the wind turns them into pick up sticks😂.Sometimes,cars actually DO stop,but many drivers feel too entitled to pay attention to or be bothered by pedestrians.I love the gray days& drizzle,but I'm probably not your targeted audience.

Here's a beef from a 37-year Hamster. Civil planning has actually restricted access to downtown not enhanced it. Bike lanes on Chestnut and Holly are the most horrendous ideas I have seen in civic planning. Simply bad ideas. Alabama bike lane a close second in bad ideas.

CONS: Increasing traffic, high cost of living, grey and rainy eight months out of the year, expensive and not very good restaurants, non-caring college-age poor service at most businesses, too much focus on beer, people generally not friendly, poor grocery store selections, not addressing homeless or crime problems, poor civil planning by local government. PRO: Pretty in places. This from a 40-year Bhammer who has travelled all over the country.

Could i make it here on a bachelor's degree who averages out at about $30 an hour? Im from tacoma but have been trapped in Kansas for 31 years. I F***ing HATE Kansas!
