    I 'found' this on Flightradar flying incognito (no flight #, departure point or destination, reg # etc) mid Europe, it had left Egypt, and flew at 40,000, but was easily identified as it is to my knowledge the only DC8-72CF left flying (two other DC-8 variants exist in the far east AFAIK). I remember when Prestwick had DC-8's every day, SAS, KLM, PanAm, memories.

    No such thing as an E3TF, it’s an E-3B “Sentry”. At least know what you are posting on

    • @JDM_Aviation_Videos
      @JDM_Aviation_Videos 26 днів тому

      The E3TF is an airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft that is based on the Boeing 707-320 airframe. The E3 Sentry is a modified version of the Boeing 707/320 commercial airframe. So, my understanding is that E3TF is correct.

    • @bob80q

      @@JDM_Aviation_Videos E3TF is a seldom used Boeing designation for the AWACS; USAF designation is E-3B/C

      No, it's not. I think that's at Dunsfold Aerodrome in England. That 747-122 was N852FT an ex Flying Tigers and then Polar Air Cargo. The aircraft was scrapped a few of year's ago.

    1:55+ Noticing the ‘plane spotters’ in the distance: how does airport security check that they’re not potential threats to aircraft?

    • @JDM_Aviation_Videos
      @JDM_Aviation_Videos Місяць тому

      Most of them are from a well established aviation group. I'm sure if anyone was acting suspiciously, it would be highlighted fairly quickly. Security teams are always close by.

    I could watch 707s all day long (ok I know its an E3A). Takes me back to my childhood in the 1970s watching BOAC, British Caledonian, Dan Air, Laker, Pan Am, TWA 707s at Manchester. Then at Heathrow then even Miami watching so many different colourful ones. Love the 707s profile, so sleek and sexy. I thought the E3A had been replaced so it is very nice to see these still. Superb footage, thank you.

    great video of a rare 747 variant. These must have been the hot-rods of the 747 series. Same engines, less weight, less drag on the wings since they don't have the underwing canoes required for the triple slatted flaps. Obsolete now because there are twins to fill this role that do it more economically. Also, the stubby appearance may look like a pointless modification of the huge 747 airframe, but it was designed and built to fill a niche and compete with the L1011 and DC-10s. From that perspective, it really shows how much smaller the DC-10 and L-1011's were than the 747 100s etc.

      Range. The SP had the range to fly the Pacific. The 747-100 did not. When the 747-400 was released, it had greater range than either of the first two models..

    Thought it was, seems to suffer from the same white balance issue that mine has causing a green colour cast in some sky shots. A known fault with some Panasonic camcorders, I have gave up on a firmware update from Panasonic to correct it. I use Sony Vegas to try and correct, works sort of but a bit of a pain.
