Chopin's sonata's highest performance. Bravo!

Ning An is my favorite pianist, he have incredible ability to control the keyboard. And he is looks cool, stable, wise, rational. Be honest, I'm really obsessed with his playing, low-profile and restrained piano technology, a sense of music from the heart but not flashy, especially when he play the Chopin, I'm so obsessed with his Chopin ! Really enjoy about him. I don't care what other people think of him, I always like him and support him ! Thank you Ning An !

This performance, I think is the best version of Chopin Scherzo Op.31. Although it has some wrong notes, it's really nice musical, and the Melody are very wonderful to show out. And never even a little bit effect the perfection. Very very good ! Ning An is a really musician ! I learn your this version as my goal ! Thank you ! Enjoy about your version !

First performer that I've ever heard that gets the interpretation right for this amazing work. Hint: it's not a "Russian-style" piece.

Wonderful interpretation. Not nearly as perfunctory as many recently. reminiscent of A. Rubenstein's, showing awareness of the melody, allowing it to soar over the "accompanying arpeggios. Particularly enjoyed the care with which the "B" section was played, and the unwillingness to "hurry" the coda. I truly enjoyed this particular performance.

hudduk77 This is by far not one of the hardest pieces in Mozart's repertoire. The piece desires to be played with a certain sense of rubato, but not like this. It shouldn't be bent like this. It's a nice interpretation, but (and I can't speak for the man, as he's not alive) I don't think it's what Mozart wanted. If you want a more challenging piece by Mozart, hit up K450 or K576 (which is the harder out of the two).

What's wrong with these people? the performance is excellent and so passionate. I think he must be more recognized, more applause to interpret, it's a very hard piece. Pd: The master Arrau have the best version, but is my opinion.

Perhaps those who cannot play this piece just need to dissolve into their Walter Mitty existence, rather than speak with such dilettantish authority. There is first-rate playing and expression taking place here! His mistakes are far less noteworthy than any officious attempt at criticism....the bane of Western dialectic! Ning An is a name I will remember....I never remember the names of music critics.

I can't feel me emotioned by this awful interpretation, the Suite looks like so beautifulwhen you listen to it in a slowly mode, for me, this video brings a try to show virtuosism.

A very gifted young musician not doubt. However, he seemed to fly past some of the most intimate and beautiful moments in the work and opted more for virtuosity. Also, the last variation was clearly a struggle -- well fought though. Its probably the toughest in the set. I'm sure he has a very bright career ahead of him.

Ning An just finished performing with Symphony Silicon Valley with an electrifying performance of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Both Saturday and Sunday concerts (June 2, 3 2012) were sold out. "The evening was an electric delight...Its Rachmaninoff (Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini), with commanding solo pianist Ning An, was additional big-melody soul food," as reported by the San Jose Mercury News' Richard Scheinin.

I've listened to Ning An in person perform a Liszt concert. He's one of the best live performers I have listened to.

If the criticism ISN'T constructive, that's different.

Why? Just because we can't play like that doesn't mean we can't say that the piece could have been better in a certain way. We're not feeling superior; we're offering constructive criticism from the perspective of the listener.

It's written in the score that you can skip this variation.The same you can do with the 19th variation. Rachmaninoff did that very often.

It's ridiculous to criticize a live perf unless it's your own.
