New Nio Onvo L60 Ultimate Electric Fastback SUV Chinese Tesla Model Y
Nio Unveiled its mass-market brand, Onvo. Nio, one of China's leading electric car manufacturers, has introduced a new brand called Onvo, aimed at offering an affordable alternative for electric vehicle ownership. The brand's first model, the L60, is designed to be accessible and is targeted towards young families. The deliveries will start in September, and the presale started today for 30,500 USD.
The Onvo L60 is a mid-size SUV with dimensions of 4828 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1616 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2950 mm. This translates to approximately 190 inches in length, 76 inches in width, 64 inches in height, and a wheelbase of 116 inches.

The brand name Onvo is an abbreviation of "On Voyage," and its Chinese name is Ledao. At the brand's launch, Onvo also revealed its first electric car, the L60. The Onvo L60 is an electric crossover SUV with a fastback design and a sloping rear. It measures 4,828 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,616 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. It is larger in every dimension compared to the Model Y.
The onvo l60 appearance is designed to look agile from every angle, featuring a design language developed by Bentley Raul Pires. The headlights are split into two layers, with the top featuring DRL LED lights shaped like a boombox. The LED lights below have a tapered design. The l60 also has a large trapezoidal air intake at the bottom, flanked by C-shaped air vents on both sides.
The side of the onvo l60 is designed to be simple and elegant, with door handles that are completely flush with the body. It features large black wheel arches and a coupe-style roof with a sloping rear.At the back, the tailgate lid is designed with a built-in ducktail spoiler. It features LED taillights as separate stripes, with the ONVO brand name and logo positioned in the center.
Onvo reveals that, thanks to its design, the car has a wind resistance coefficient of just 0.229 Cd, compared to the Model Y's coefficient of 0.236 Cd.
While the New L60 interior details haven't been officially revealed, it's confirmed that the cabin will feature a spacious 17.2" central control screen. Instead of a traditional LCD instrument panel, drivers will have a 13" head-up display (HUD) for key information. Rear passengers can enjoy 8-inch entertainment screens. Powering these features is the new Onvo OS in-cabin software. Notably, the front seats have a unique capability to fold completely flat, creating a single large bed for sleeping.
In addition, the New l60 is also equipped with 30 high-performance sensing hardware, including 1 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar, 8-megapixel high-definition cameras, 4 starlight 360-degree cameras, supporting high-speed and urban NOA navigation assistance functions.
Onvo l60 will offer support for battery swapping and will be compatible with Nio's swap stations. However, this compatibility extends only to the third and fourth-generation swap stations. Nio presently operates approximately 2,400 swap stations, with around 1,000 of them being third and fourth-generation.
In terms of power, the Onvo L60 is fully electric, but Onvo has not disclosed the specific power output of the electric motor. The L60 will be available in three versions, each with a different battery pack size: 60 kWh, 90 kWh, and 150 kWh. The 150 kWh battery pack will be a semi-solid state battery from WeLion, designed for quick swapping at stations. Additionally, it features a 900V architecture developed in-house by Nio.
The L60 will be offered with three different range options. The Standard range variant boasts a maximum distance of 555 km on a single charge. For those seeking even more mileage, the Long-range option extends this capability to cover a maximum distance of 730 km. Furthermore, the Extra Long Range variant pushes the boundaries, promising a staggering range of over 1000 km on a single charge, providing ample flexibility for various driving needs and preferences.
It's also claimed that the company's new electric vehicle will have lower electricity consumption compared to the Model Y, at 12.1 kWh/100 km, whereas the Model Y is rated at 12.5 kWh/100 km .
