All those great designs and art pieces from Mike and then a totally crap cartoon from it? Thank God it never made it past that.

Any art teacher that disregards comics as a valid and/or valuable form of art shouldn't be a teacher. Hell, I don't think they should even be a artist at that point.

We need more movies like this. The whole "Author vs Hollywood" documentary. Don't get me wrong. I like Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy movies. But I have noticed how Hollywood takes another person's work and totally butcher it, like the Witcher, Artemis Fowl, Marvel and Star Wars, etc. It's nice to see movies where the author speak their minds.

Ah sadly only available in the US. I just tried to buy it on Amazon, sadly we Canadians are not invited to the party! :(

If feasible, please release a dvd of the documentary for those in Europe etc I don't touch digital releases xD

"Ahead of his time" is right. I would have been so down for Mignola's Thor, if it aired alongside the X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons of the 90s. Ironically, Genndy Tartakovsky would later go on to a successful career employing a similarly angular aesthetic. Samurai Jack and Primal made especially good use of those bold, hard shapes and deep black shadows.

As much as I don't like Chris Hemsworth as Thor, thank God Fabio didn't get a chance to further embarrass the character.

David Harper is Still the best choice to do a film adaptation of Hellboy! It's just so unfortunate the Hellboy film he did had all the wrong writers and director. Ron Perlman Nailed the Look from the comics and I painfully wished they tried to do me with Harper.

Uuuuuuugh Mignola keeps getting the short end every time he tries to come up with a series 🙄 give the guy a damn chance shit!!!!!!

That animated clip at the end was painful. Not sure if it was the artists being unused to working in that style, or if it there was pressure to bring it more in line with expected cartoon aesthetics of the time, but either way mignola's work was almost completely lost in translation.
